1st time at Southport

We were pleased with the site, we chose our own pitch, the facilities were spotless, as were the surrounding area's and the rest of the site. During our weeks stay we ventured out (between the storms) and as there are lots of things to do nearby, we enjoyed ourselves. The site was nice and quiet while we were there, the staff very helpful, as I have always found on club sites.Only one thing bothered me a little, and that was that there is a Public footpath running through the site. We weren't murdered in our beds or burgled, but I would have liked to have known about it beforehand. I would visit this site again, to do all the things we didn't do this time.

Top class site

Very well kept site in a great location. Very close to town, pleasure beach and all the amenities. Very helpful wardens. I had forgotten medication and had to get it posted to site. They told me they would put a note on the board outside that I could see which saved me having to go back and forth asking if the mail had arrived. Very stormy when we where there, so even well pegged awning was folding in with gale force winds. Suggest if weather looks bad you choose a pitch on the old area with hedging and trees, the new pitches are very exposed to bad weather.

Location, location, location!

This is a large, well laid out site with excellent facilities & most important of all. Just a short stroll from the shore or Southport town itself. I can certainly see why it is so popular. I did however, wonder why with clearly so much money spent on toilets etc, they did not put a TV booster on the site. Sadly it was atrocious wet & windy weather for a lot of the time that we were there, just the time when you might want to stay in your caravan & watch the telly. I don't know what other pitches were like but on ours, the TV signal kept breaking up & going off making it very frustrating to try & watch! Also, I know it doesn't matter to everyone & it was my mistake but i failed to see the map on the wall in the office about wifi signal when we checked in (it was not pointed out) so it was only when we had pitched the caravan & put up the awning that I realised I had no phone signal & was unable to get onto the Caravan Club wifi (£25!) unless I walked up nearer to reception. Apparently the signal is fine in most places! I would definitely go to this site again but I would try my phone & wifi before we set up & even try plugging the tv in before we make a final decision on our pitch. I expect it would not have mattered quite so much if the weather had been nice enough for us to sit outside or go for a walk. Better luck next time!

Nice place.

We have just returned from 3 nights at this site. I had a place to run in the Southport half marathon and we had some CC vouchers to use so we decided to make a weekend of it. Arrived Friday afternoon and were given directions to several different pitches and told we could pick whichever we wanted and then return to the office and get the keys. I popped back for the keys once we decided where we wanted to pitch and hubby began setting up.  The staff were friendly and very helpful. The whole site is spotless and the toilets and shower blocks were well equipped. We loved watching the rabbits playing in the sunshine too. The site is just a few minutes walk from the town centre and the pier. Morrisons is the nearest supermarket and is just 10 mins easy stroll away. This is the biggest site we've used and although we wouldn't use a big site like this very often it was surprising how much we liked it. We pitched in the older part of the site, the newer extension seemed a bit more exposed and we liked being under the trees. I'm pretty sure we'll be back sometime.

Great Site

Wonderful site, excellent facilities, beautifully kept. Staff friendly helpful and smiling whatever the weather. Location truly excellent. 10 minute walk through park takes you to a big Morrisons and to the town centre. Area is all flat and perfect for cycling. Bus will take you into Liverpool for a fantastic day out. £2 each way if you don't have a bus pass. Takes about one hour ten minutes on the X2 . A 50 minute drive will take you to Lytham (or Blackpool) lots of free parking and a nice jaunt out. 15 minutes in opposite direction and you can visit Sir Antony Gormley's 'Another place'. Again free car park easy to access in our campervan. This was our first visit to Southport club site but it won't be our last.

One of the Best

First time on this site and booked very last minute. What an amazing find. We have been touring since September last year and this has to be the best site we have stayed on. Immaculate in every way. The staff are very friendly and efficient. The site is so clean and well kept. The toilet block is so clean and was each time we used it. The whole site is clean and despite it being full everyone using it was considerate to others. There is nothing to fault here and we will definitely be returning and would highly recommend this site to others. No doubt it is very busy and often full but we can't wait to be back. Thank you very much Caravan Club!

Great site

We just had our first weekend away in our, new to us, caravan.  This site was lovely and clean.  The staff were so helpful and friendly, will definitely visit again.  The grounds very well maintained.  Not far from the centre.

Really enjoyable site

Wardens kept the site immaculate, and we're very attentive. A credit to the club. Superb location for walking, cycling, shopping, and a lovely town. Loved every minute of the stay and would recommend to everyone.

Southport Site

Excellent staff. Very helpful. Site always kept clean. Disabled toilet like all others. Do not cater very well for people with colostomies. Need either a shelf or small table next to wash sink. Otherwise no complaints.
