Just the perfect site

We visited the site for just one night. I had rung several times in the week to see if any pitches were available but sadly none were. However the lady on reception did advise me to ring every day just incase there was a cancellation. On my second daily call I was told there was a pitch free so off we went. The SAT nav does not take you down the last section of the trip but its well signposted. As with all the Caravan club sites we have visited the layout is basically the same . We found the toilets absolute spotless. Spacious plots . Friendly helpful staff. The location is only 10 mins walk to the stat of the town and the site has a shortcut footpath through the nearby park .Just a perfect place we will be back again soon!

Good location

We spent a week at this site, plenty to do all within walking distance, lovely old Victorian seaside town to walk around, plenty of shops and places to eat and drink, lovely park and promenade to leisurely strol through! We found some really good cycle routes, so taking your bikes is a must! We caught the train into Liverpool for the day and if you travel after 9.00am it's only £5.00 return!! Only downside for us was the weather was not particularly nice, it was extremely windy, this did cause us problems as the site is very open and exposed so beware, we ended up having to take our awning down. Spotlessly clean facilities, on the whole a very good CC site. We would return.

Great place for the seaside

Just taken our 7 year old granddaughter to this site. She had loads of things to do within a close distance - Windmill farm, Farmer Ted's, Ainsdale beach, Southport Funfare, Splashworld, Turbury Woods birds etc. It would be nice to know in advance when Victoria Park (the main walking route to the town and supermarket), is closed for the annual Flower Show. We found the wardens very friendly and helpful, and they kept the site very clean and tidy - full marks and a big "thank you".

Good location!

Nice location. The park next door is lovely and a nice walk to the town! Visited with a friend and my 2 young daughters. I would avoid the sand dunes as they were covered in dog muck! The beach is one to avoid too it was littered with rubbish and very unappealing! Southport itself is nice. Broadhurst books is definitely worth a visit lovely old shop with exemplary customer service. The site is nice, good facilities. I found one male warden particularly condescending and rude! The lady warden was different again! I do think some wardens would do well to remember we are 'paying' members and guests and they are not doing us a favour! Found the awning down at dusk rule a bit OTT particularly when others clearly ignored it. Still I suppose it made him feel big telling 2 women off! He didn't spoil the weekend for us we just laughed him off! Other campers were all really polite too and everyone said hello, which was nice! Shop was a bit poorly stocked. There is a morrisons in easy reach I suppose but the kids (8 & 12) like to go for messages when we are camping! I'd go back it's great location and facilities make up for the odd jobsworth!

Lovely Southport

Our first visit to the site. The site is lovely and all facilities are kept very clean. There is noise on the site from the nearby road, but this is not that intrusive. Plenty of children on the site on bikes and scooters...all enjoying themselves. Sadly some were still racing about at 10.00 pm. Also not many were wearing helmets....perhaps this should be made compulsory on site. Everything in Southport is in walking distance with a nice walk back through the park. Formby Sands (National Trust) is nearby and we had a lovely walk through the woods and back along the sands. Was very surprised on a few mornings so see caravnas queuing to get in from 11.00 am!

Victorian Seaside Holiday

Our third visit to this site and it just gets better, the pitches are very tidy, laid out well and well cared for, the site is very clean, the wardens work very hard to ensure the highest of standards. It would be nice to have facilities for the kids, especially as this is very much a children's holiday place, once back at the caravan we had to entertain the grandson until bedtime as there is nothing for him to do, and we could have done with a rest. There is road noise in various parts of the site, does not bother us though. The wardens are fantastic, so helpful and knowledgeable. Southports many attractions are all within walking distance so once there you do not need the car. Morrisons is just over the road as well. We love this site and will the there again next year.

Happy holiday

Stayed here for 4 nights from the 25/7/2016 height of holiday season and it was fab. Facilities were spotless and well placed, no queues for showers at all even though it was full. Our grand children had a lovely time despite the lack of playing facilities on site the park nearby was brilliant for them and they were happy to play with their new found friends on their bikes. The Fishermens pub 5 minutes up the road is a lovely pub, food fantastic and so reasonably priced staff very polite and so nice went their twice it was so nice. Southport was nice although the absence of the sea was disappointing goes out for miles. We went to see Another place and Crosby beach both beautiful and well worth the visit.

Great Site

My wife and I, with our 2 dogs, stayed here for a week at the end of July. The site is kept very clean, it is easy to find and to access. Walking into Southport through the park was a real treat. There were kids playing, often in big groups, but they were no problem whatsoever. I certainly do not want wardens "policing" every hour, it is completely unnecessary in my view, and to criticise kids "for not following the one way system", come on!!

Fantastic weekend on this popular site

Just spent the weekend on this site. Well laid out pitches with excellent and very clean facilities which are only let down by those that use them, dread to think how they leave their bathrooms at home. Yes as others have said children playing early evening but no problem... kids are kids. Had to tell three under 8 year olds not to use the toilet waste disposal as a slide but they thought it was fun ..... goes back to my earlier point. No noise from local activities in the resort. Very peaceful. Excellent dog walks in the dunes across the road. Will be back soon. Wardens do their best under the circumstances but apart from that cant say much .... a bit stand offish ....
