Excellent week in Southport

This site ticks a lot of boxes, very clean, lovely walk into Southport described as a short walk and it is. The description and information about this site is accurate, overall a very enjoyable site to visit with plenty to do on the doorstep of the site. I only marked the site a 4 for families because there is not a children's play area on site but there is a park & play area just through one of the exit walk ways towards Southport.

Another great stay

Clean well kept site in a good position . Short walk into Southport. Nice flat pitches, new area well spaced out. On the negative, it is a pity there is not a children's play area, considering the numbers of families that use this site.

Handy site for visiting Liverpool

We stayed here primarily to visit Liverpool we walked to the railway station nearby and for £5.40 we got a return ticket to Liverpool Central station and also includes a ferry ticket across the Mersey river which we did and came back on the train at Birkenhead back under the Mersey. We also visited Southport very nice place great shops look at Rotten row if you like flowers 700 yards of flower beds, great pub nearby the Fishermans rest great food very reasonable prices. Site very clean great wardens hate this word lets give them a warmer title. Also great if you visit Southport Flower show. we had a fantastic time

Great location

Stayed at this site from 21-24th August. Yes it was very busy but never had to wait for showers (6 of them at block near reception and others in another block). Disappointed that access to the park was blocked because we arrived at the end Southport Flower show and marquees still standing but our fault for not checking. However, smashing site, great for town and shoreside locations. Loved "Another Place" - Anthony Gormley's iron men on Crosby beach. THE WARDENS (and I spoke to several of them) WERE ALL VERY PLEASANT AND HELPFUL. Only fault for us was the early cleaning time of the toilet and shower blocks (10.15 - 12). One of our party was disabled and not very swift in the mornings and so unable to use the disabled bathroom until after 12 which rather cut into our day.

Close to town and sea

What a revelation Soutport was. The town has been much improved since we were there about 15 years ago. It was our first time at the site over the August bank holiday weekend. It is a short walk to Morrisons, the sea front, the town, the beach and the sand dunes depending on which direction you take, the club is sited pretty much in the middle of all of these. We had a lovely time strolling around the town, sampling many of the bars/cafes and shops...wandering along the promenade. There was much we didn't a chance to do so we will definitely be returning. This park probably the most busy and bustling we have stayed on with quite a few people busy from early morning (sitting enjoying a cup of tea, taking a jog, walking the dog etc) to quite late in the evening. Lots of kiddies playing. But I think that's overall part of the Southport experience. There was a bit of noise on the Sunday morning from the park next door with people racing their remote control cars from about 10am. The other park neighbouring the site was closed due to some building work, that should be open again in mid September, it should be lovely to wander through on the way to/from town once open again. There are lots of cycle ways, many of which are off the road and we found the new roads easy to navigate. Overall we will be looking to return soon.

WARDENS ATTITUDE

We have stayed on this site for the last 10 years as we enjoy the proximity for Southport and the sites cleanliness. However on this visit we were extremely disappointed with the male wardens attitude which we found to be abrupt. They also pick on the children for simply playing. We stay on these sites as a paying customer and we pay their wages so they should be more pleasant to the customer rather than dwell on having a bit of authority.

Great location for walking into Southport, the site is spotless but the children were riding round early morning and late at night, also around the shower blocks, otherwise noproblems, Ann

August 3 night stay

Good clean site enjoyed our stay. The only downside was children running up and down on scooters until dark obviously can't read the signs, grump over.
