Convenient location

We found the site very convenient for visiting Southport in our motor home. It is fairly close to rail services to visit other places such as Liverpool. It is close to parks and the coast for walking the dog. Our only grumble was that the road outside the site was very dark with little street lighting. In addition, Southport seems to have no dog friendly cafes or pubs. Luckily the weather was good enough for us to sit outside.

Excellent!

We had been trying to get on here for ages and managed to.  Warm friendly welcome from the wardens, good pitches and fantastically clean and modern facilities. Really highly recommend - couldn't fault anything

Pity such a nice location traffic a bit noisy

Not as family friendly as I expected

The location of the site is great. We've been going to southport for many years and now owning a caravan was pleased to find a site so close to the town, so we joined the CC.  Sadly upon arrival we really didn't feel that welcome, got the impression they prefer over 50s with no young children. So many rules and regs and unfriendly wardens it put me off the cc. Fortunately this week we are staying at Blackpool and the wardens are very friendly and the site even has a small park, something that the larger southport doesn't have.

No wi-fi...again

Our favourite site, and plenty of good reviews, our only moan is the ridiculously poor/non existent internet coverage. We pay for the C.C. system, and this is the 3rd time on different locations on this site we have been unable to get cover, or was that slow gave up..... come on C.C. sort it out please. Otherwise cracking site.

Watch the Wardens

Great caravan site for a great town and have been numerous times in the past.  Head wardens at the moment need a reality check however.  If you don't enjoy your job, please just leave - I pay a subscription right ??  Most unhelpful and miserable I have met in all my years, great way to ruin a holiday !

Wardens

Nice site good location warden not very helpful and not accommodating as usual wardens are, they could have been more helpful in the way they handled our request which was a minimal request, not experienced this on any other site we had been too usually the wardens will go the extra mile

Southport Air show

We stayed for one week covering the September weekend air show. Very easy to find & good access. We had plenty of choice on pitches when we arrived mid week. We choose the newer more open side of the site. The toilet block was kept very clean & tidy & even though the site was full over the weekend we never had to queue.  Great location as an easy walk into town & Morrisons very near for papers & groceries.  Great cycling along the front.  For some reason some of the folk staying on site seemed quite unfriendly which was odd - but hey ho not everyone wants a chat or a friendly 'good morning' . I also felt the the wardens weren't particularly friendly but maybe it was as the site was full so they were very busy. A few families arrived over the weekend who didn't seem to want to control their children who were flying round the access road on bikes & scooters - quite young kiddies with no road sense - an accident waiting to happen!  The pub just over the park, about a 10 minute walk called The Fishermans Rest was lovely & served good & well priced food - but you should book as seemed to be full all the time. Overall a nice neat & tidy site in a great location.
