Watch the Wardens

Great caravan site for a great town and have been numerous times in the past.  Head wardens at the moment need a reality check however.  If you don't enjoy your job, please just leave - I pay a subscription right ??  Most unhelpful and miserable I have met in all my years, great way to ruin a holiday !

Wardens

Nice site good location warden not very helpful and not accommodating as usual wardens are, they could have been more helpful in the way they handled our request which was a minimal request, not experienced this on any other site we had been too usually the wardens will go the extra mile

Southport Air show

We stayed for one week covering the September weekend air show. Very easy to find & good access. We had plenty of choice on pitches when we arrived mid week. We choose the newer more open side of the site. The toilet block was kept very clean & tidy & even though the site was full over the weekend we never had to queue.  Great location as an easy walk into town & Morrisons very near for papers & groceries.  Great cycling along the front.  For some reason some of the folk staying on site seemed quite unfriendly which was odd - but hey ho not everyone wants a chat or a friendly 'good morning' . I also felt the the wardens weren't particularly friendly but maybe it was as the site was full so they were very busy. A few families arrived over the weekend who didn't seem to want to control their children who were flying round the access road on bikes & scooters - quite young kiddies with no road sense - an accident waiting to happen!  The pub just over the park, about a 10 minute walk called The Fishermans Rest was lovely & served good & well priced food - but you should book as seemed to be full all the time. Overall a nice neat & tidy site in a great location.

Lovely Stay

Always enjoy Southport.  We stayed on the new part of the site.  The pitch was very spacious. I am not sure who planned the fences around the toilet block but they must have had a sense of humour. The toilet blocks where up to the usual Club standard and on the new part cleaned in the afternoon so no morning rush. There seemed to be alot of road noise in the evening from the nearby road.  The site is situated next to Victoria Park but on our visit the main part was closed.  The park is great for walking the dog and the miniature railway runs on a Sunday and Wednesday rides are by donation.  Southport has been greatly improved and the gardens by the lake are looking very nice.  There is plenty to keep you entertained.

Great Site

This is our third visit to this site. We stayed on the new part which we prefer as its more open and sunny. The toilet block is superb and the site is very well maintained by the wardens, wifi very good. Only a few minutes walk into Southport through park or along Rotten Row it is a great location, one of our favourites .

The extra mile

Just re-started caravanning, this time on my own + 2 dogs. Arrived at Southport minus handbag, therefore minus credit card and money! The staff couldn't have been more helpful, including giving me a much needed hug. Once on the pitch I was able to calm down and get the details needed to pay - the rest was plain sailing. This site is very good, clean and tidy - all made possible by the calibre of the staff. They work very hard to keep it up to scratch and they succeed. A personal and heartfelt thanks from me to them for helping me get back to caravan life!

A perfect site

This is my first visit to the extended Southport site. I was very impressed, site is well kept and well run by the wardens. Facilities were super clean. A great idea, the extra long grass in the larger grassed areas discourages on site ball games but there is a park 200m away! Great dog walks in the park which has a boating lake , a miniature railway ( Sundays), a model car racing circuit, a playground , even a croquet lawn! And Southport is just a 10 minute walk away. Mobile signal excellent, Satellite friendly, especially the new part of the site. We were there for the famous Southport air show, site and town were very busy as one might expect. We ate twice at the Imperial Hotel on the Preston Road on way out of town but can also recommend the Fishermens rest which is within walking distance on Weld Road. Good train service for days out in Liverpool All in all , a perfect site!

Family friendly Southport

I first visited this site many years ago in fact the year they installed hardstanding pitches, I have returned many times and I have witnessed the site develop into what it is now, a family friendly site with easy access to local facilities. The site is enhanced by the wardens who put a lot of effort into maintaining the site to a very night standard. My only criticism of the site is that the club when extending and updating the site didn't provide TV connections because the TV reception can be very poor depending on the pitch.
