Arrived at site just after 1pm on 21st, told to move forward when caravan moved on and we did that. The guy who was booking us in was very abrupt ,unwelcoming and abrupt! When he realised I was paying by vouchers he retorted “ well most people pay by card” really. We chose our pitch and I went up to reception to pay. We had two separate bookings, again this seemed to be a problem and only allowed to pay my first night. I was really surprised at this because we had the same situation on another site and the lady joined both bookings and I was allowed to pay my full stay.I returned the next day to reception to pay my other two nights....what a difference, the lady and gentleman could not have been more welcoming, just what we are used to when we are on a club site.As far as the Covid effort on this site, differed from the last 7/8 clubs we had visited.
The signage which was on display was as followed: Reception, the signage was printed by the Caravan club which stated only one person in reception at any given time, every other site had a billboard outside reiterating this process and everyone could clearly see and follow, the signage on the door did not stand out... so I don’t need to explain what was happening! Toilets: the only thing which was closed off were toilets and showers, sinks 3 of them were all open ( not closed off for social distance) Kitchen : 3 sinks and none closed off , so I don’t need to tell you what was happening, and again only the club signage nothing more that would draw people’s attention to what they really should be doing. This site was being run as if there was no Covid which I found unbelievable. I wish the club had settled on the same rules for all their sites which would have made it much easier for users, Either wristbands in the buckets or wristbands on hocks and signage over and above the printed signage posted on doors which no one took any notice of.
I love going to the Caravan club sites as everything is usually uniform....and everyone ( except possibly) new members know what to expect.... but I’m sorry to say this site has let you down.
Dog noise
Had a disapointing stay due to neighbours two dogs incessantly barking because they had been left alone while the owners socialised at the caravan opposite, when I approached the lady owner after a half hours barking her and her friends just laughed, I said no please sort it, the husband then came pointing his stick at my wife saying it is normal for dogs to bark.He then complained to the warden that I had spoken to him.
I do know that new measures and rules have been put in place due to the virus but it is also the wardens job to ensure the old rules are applied such as the rule about dogs, it should not be left up to the members to sort out , you could clearly hear them all over the site, several people remarked on it.

Beware
Hi spent ten nights at southport just be aware there is bike thieves walking round site to see witch bikes to steal mine was locked to a tree with two big locks and cables bike and cables went couple of days later someone else had two bikes stolen. There are two walkways right through the site don't get me wrong it's a fab site but please think if taking bikes I would hope wardens are telling people arriving that a lot of thief is happening
Nice long weekend in Southport
Another lovely stay at this popular site. Wardens as helpful as ever. Good social distancing system in place, only a small number of people ignored them but the site or club can’t be blamed for that. On this trip we walked the coastal path to Formby Point which we recommend. If you don’t fancy the walk back there are trains every 15mins. Would also recommend a wander to Birkdale Village. Due to the brilliant weather Southport centre was packed which wasn’t to our liking, but didn’t spoil our trip.
Great site, great location
Had a few days here in July. The COVID procedures worked ....wristbands on hooks at the toilet block.
Handy for seafront and shops.
Great for running from the site along the front.
Would recommend and will return no doubt

Great location and campsite
Great location.for walking and visiting local sites beach 10 minute walk away And dog friendly.plenty of pubs to visit . Morrison’s on the door step Victoria park next door holds events drive in cinema when we were there
Friendly wardens on site . The site was full for the week we were there but never felt over crowded.
COVID restrictions in place made us feel safe
Fabulous
Great stay and very helpful wardens the facilities were spotless and well organised for social isolation. The main reason for my review is to thank the Wardens for the help and assistance they were giving to the lady on the pitch next to us, who's husband had been admitted to hospital soon after their arrival, well done and thank you.
Top location
Excellent site and location worth easy walking access to everything.
Only problem this time was toilet block, always running our of toilet paper in some cubicles, causing queing for remaining cubicles. Not good.
Campervan Visit February
Functional site in a very good location for exploring the surrounding area. Amazingly sheltered considering the battering from the storms. Wardens friendly and facilities up to usual standard. At time of our visit the path to Victoria Park was difficult due to flooding but possible to walk along the road without getting one's feet wet. Excellent train links to Liverpool which allowed us to explore the city with a stop at Crosby beach on the way back. Also good bus service to Formby to explore the NT coastline. Sadly the 5mph limit is still not adhered to and with the number of children cycling unsupervised the wrong way round the one way system, it is an accident waiting to happen.

Site, Location, Facilities Perfect & Quality Dog Friendly Locations Found
Our second visit to the site & just like last time it was a perfect visit. Peaceful, Friendly Staff & Members & the perfect location to explore on foot & in the Campervan. Plenty of Dog Friendly options in town, Bistro Pierre provided water & treats on a plate. The Bolt provided water & allowed our dog to share the largest meat carvery we have ever witnessed & in Churchtown the Waging Tail Dog Cafe allowed us in as well & provided a bed & water, plus to purchase some amazing home made dog cakes & treats - the human food was pretty nice too.
Given the weather of late we were really lucky, no rain & the site is nice & dry, tidy & clean. A pleasure to come back & we will return again.
