Brilliant site with brilliant staff!!!

We have been to this site for the past three years and it is superb!! There is nothing to fault about it, spotless facilities, excellent friendly staff, in fact this warden should be put in charge of all warden training he is that good! We booked our ferry from Southampton to Cowes on Red Funnel through the club, making a substantial saving, I would recommend other members to do this. It is a far nicer sail and more relaxing than Wightlink, well worth the extra bit of driving at each end! Look forward to our next visit 🤗

Lovely holiday

First time to the IOW and this site came in to east cowes about 30 mins drive follow the main route not the sat nav as this will send you down a narrow road. Great site immaculately maintained by the crew of friendly wardens, nothing too much trouble and always making sure you are ok. Just started with a fish and chip van Saturday nights which is as very nice. We stayed for a week and the site was quiet apart from the hedge and grass cutting but you can't have the site in the condition it's in without this type of work being carried out. We chose to buy a roaming bus ticket for 48hrs cost £15pp for adults which meant we could use the breezer open tops and the service buses for our site seeing which was great especially the needles. We also drove the coast road and the brading downs which both give beautiful view of the coast. Lovely site, great holiday will be back! Thank you.

Wonderful Fortnight

We'd previously stayed at Southland in the on site bungalow so knew the location was good. We were unable to get our preference of a hard standing & took the wardens recommendation to look at the grass pitches in a less used area & piched on 105. The site is exceptionally well maintained, but to keep up the standards on a large grass area with numerous trees & bushes, requires a fair amount of effort by the wardens with mowers & trimmers. This did not spoil our enjoyment as they wern't in the same area everyday. Overall a very enjoyable stay with a friendly efficiant team of wardens & only the usual number of dogs not on leads & speeding drivers.

Put it on your list

Great site with excellent friendly helpful wardens, nothing too much trouble. Site and shower blocks immaculate and the pitches are large and offer a variety of smaller bays or larger pitch areas. Short walk/bike ride and you are on the Squirrel Trail which is easy riding snd will take you into Sandown and Shanklin or across to Newport and Cowes. Buses are frequent and a rover type ticket will take you wherever you need to go with the occasional change. Two good pubs, The Pointer or the Fighting Cock are within a 15/20 minute walk and Shanklin in particular offers a great range of pubs and restaurants to suit all tastes. A great place to stay and relax and recharge your batteries as the IOW itself is great, a bit like Devon 25 years ago, which is a good thing! We will be back

Best Campsite on the IOW

What a great site. Good location, lovely laid out site. Friendly & efficient wardens. Wonderful clean facilities! 2 dog friendly pubs close by....The Pointer Inn.........Great food! The Fighting Cocks......great beer! I cannot praise this wonderful site enough.....& all down to the Wardens, who ensure all this. 2 points that need addressing............... 1. The wifi...........When will the club come into the age of the internet? Whoever organised the wifi, should be sacked..as he/she hasn't a clue about the subject! Wifi........is a necessity, not an add on, to be used to fleece the members! £10...for a week? For one device only? At speeds slower than a turtle! You are seriously taking the michael! Please sort it out! 2. A back entrance to the site is badly needed.... The main bus stop is at Amazon world.......20 minutes walk away, which by the addition of a separate gate on the corner of the dog walk would cut the time in half. Also the distance to walk by 3/4 of a mile for some on the site! A really wonderful site....let down by appalling wifi! Site....10/10 Wifi......0/10

Lovely stay and great weather.

We enjoyed our stay in June. Nice part of the island with easy cycle route down to Sandown. The staff were very friendly and the site is clean and well maintained.

Great site

Great site and excellent friendly wardens The site is central on the island easy to get around from, it is quite noisy from road traffic on 2 sides of the site but weii worth visiting. The site is well kept and tidy.

Wonderful site and excellent wardens

Stayed here in May for 6 nights, our ferry was early and we did not expect to be allowed on until 12 o'clock, however the lady warden spotted us and immediately booked us in and gave us advice on pitches etc. How lovely to be greeted like this and such friendly and helpful wardens. A wonderful pitch was found and instantly we stopped on the pitch a friendly robin greeted us by perching on the front of our hitchlock and cocking his little head as much as to say come on then I am used to being fed !! The site was well kept, and the toilet block too. I cannot recommend this site enough. It was a refreshing change to be greeted with a smile and a helpful attitude instead of "you are too early" leave the site and come back in half an hour !!. A lovely dog friendly pub just down the road The Pointer Inn with good food. What a bonus.

Please visit

This is a fantastic site but so underused. We were there over the mayday bank holiday and on the hard standing area there were just 8 outfits. Presumably the ferry puts people off but our booking done through the CM club was 67.70 for our motor home from Lymington to Yarmouth. I expect this rises during summer but with the discounted site pitch fee was acceptable to us. We made use of our bus passes and it was a short walk to Amazon world (not I of w zoo) to catch them. As many others have said the local pub was really busy we didn't eat there but the atmosphere was friendly. The gate at lower end of site reduces the distance to it so no need to walk in the road. The area for tents is separate and lovely flat grass pitches. If you are thinking about going -just do it you won't regret it
