What a find

Stayed for 2weeks starting 19/08/2017. Very quick efficient check in. Pitches are very spacious and our was level. Wardens never seem to stop working and it surely shows in the immaculate conditions of this site, toilets and showers very clean and always ones free to use. Our two sons aged 17 and 10 made loads of new friends over the two weeks, the playground appeared a very good place for them all to meet. We ran out of days to do everything we planned as there is just so much to see and do. I.o.w has something for everyone. We all enjoyed it so much we have decided to return next year, our ten year o!d said it was the best holiday he has ever had!!. Excellent location and a credit to the caravan and motorhome could . Thanks for a superb holiday.

Fantastic stay

We have just spent a wonderful week at Southlands. Lovely wardens who work hard to keep the site looking great. The toilet/shower block was always clean and never very busy. Our son loved the play area and made plenty of friends over the week. The Isle of Wight has so much to do, we wish we could have stayed longer! We will be back!

gem of a site

Really nice site perfectly clean and tidy with all grass and hedges maintained to a very high standard. The wardens are all friendly and helpful which makes the experience so much better. They seem to work tirelessly to keep the whole site in immaculate condition and the toilet/ shower block was very clean and user friendly. There is a lovely friendly pub in the middle of the village and although we never got to eat there the food being served looked and smelled delicious. The island itself is a perfect location to holiday with something for all the family. If I had any negatives it would be the greed of the ferry operators who made the holiday quite expensive however I would recommend booking this through the club as they are obviously able to get a discount on the price. If you are thinking of the island as a holiday destination you will not be disappointed with the quality and location of this site.

Excellent site in perfect location, can't wait to return

First visit to IOW, very impressed by site. Spotless in every area and very well maintained by fabulous staff. Concerned that one central toilet and shower block would get busy but it never was. Very peaceful and quiet site for the first two weeks of summer holiday. Perfect location for Sandown safe sandy beach and all other areas on the island. Black gang Chine, Godshill Model Village and Amazon World Zoo all offer free unlimited seven day return. Alum Bay Needles is very expensive but we used Tesco days out vouchers which can also be used in their food outlets, restaurants and shops which made a potentially unaffordable day out very enjoyable. Lucky to experience Cowes Week during our visit which was brilliant. Will definitely return to what I think is one of the best club sites available in a superb location.

Amazing first trip x

We have recently returned from southland following a weeks stay. Despite arriving earlier than planned the staff couldn't have been more accommodating allowing us to get on site at 0900hrs. All pitches were well defined and we loved that areas were sectioned off with hedges making the site feel compact and comfortable rather than an expanse of caravans All facilities were well maintained and extremely clean. The staff were on hand to answer any queries we had about the surrounding area and were extremely friendly. The site was very family friendly and the playground was well enjoyed by our daughter being extremely well equipped. We will certainly be returning to Southland as it served as an excellent base for our Isle of Wight adventures and was one of the best caravan and motor home club sites we have stayed at We would certainly be recommended this site to friends and look forward to booking for our next trip

Brilliant site with brilliant staff!!!

We have been to this site for the past three years and it is superb!! There is nothing to fault about it, spotless facilities, excellent friendly staff, in fact this warden should be put in charge of all warden training he is that good! We booked our ferry from Southampton to Cowes on Red Funnel through the club, making a substantial saving, I would recommend other members to do this. It is a far nicer sail and more relaxing than Wightlink, well worth the extra bit of driving at each end! Look forward to our next visit 🤗

Lovely holiday

First time to the IOW and this site came in to east cowes about 30 mins drive follow the main route not the sat nav as this will send you down a narrow road. Great site immaculately maintained by the crew of friendly wardens, nothing too much trouble and always making sure you are ok. Just started with a fish and chip van Saturday nights which is as very nice. We stayed for a week and the site was quiet apart from the hedge and grass cutting but you can't have the site in the condition it's in without this type of work being carried out. We chose to buy a roaming bus ticket for 48hrs cost £15pp for adults which meant we could use the breezer open tops and the service buses for our site seeing which was great especially the needles. We also drove the coast road and the brading downs which both give beautiful view of the coast. Lovely site, great holiday will be back! Thank you.

Wonderful Fortnight

We'd previously stayed at Southland in the on site bungalow so knew the location was good. We were unable to get our preference of a hard standing & took the wardens recommendation to look at the grass pitches in a less used area & piched on 105. The site is exceptionally well maintained, but to keep up the standards on a large grass area with numerous trees & bushes, requires a fair amount of effort by the wardens with mowers & trimmers. This did not spoil our enjoyment as they wern't in the same area everyday. Overall a very enjoyable stay with a friendly efficiant team of wardens & only the usual number of dogs not on leads & speeding drivers.

Put it on your list

Great site with excellent friendly helpful wardens, nothing too much trouble. Site and shower blocks immaculate and the pitches are large and offer a variety of smaller bays or larger pitch areas. Short walk/bike ride and you are on the Squirrel Trail which is easy riding snd will take you into Sandown and Shanklin or across to Newport and Cowes. Buses are frequent and a rover type ticket will take you wherever you need to go with the occasional change. Two good pubs, The Pointer or the Fighting Cock are within a 15/20 minute walk and Shanklin in particular offers a great range of pubs and restaurants to suit all tastes. A great place to stay and relax and recharge your batteries as the IOW itself is great, a bit like Devon 25 years ago, which is a good thing! We will be back
