Absolutely stunningly well kept site. The wardens remain visible all day, and are constantly tidying, trimming, sweeping, cleaning, planting throughout the day. Nothing is too much trouble for any of the wardens. Everything is clean, gleaming and looking lovely. We loved this site and had a great two weeks, sorry to have to leave but we will be back next year. Cannot recommend enough. The wardens deserve an award for the way they take care and present this site
Frequent visitor
We have just returned from Southlands, as usual the pitches and surrounding area are immaculate. Mobile fish and chips on Wednesday and Saturday around 4 pm, we can really reccomend, price was unexpectedly very reasonable, staff are really friendly and helpful as usual, the only issue we had was getting our twin axle off the pitch as the clippings are so deep, the mover did struggle, fortunately there is masses of room to manoevre

Tip top site for half term.
Stayed here for four nights during October half term.
Half of the site was taped off but that wasn't a problem as we had book a fully serviced pitch and the grass pitches were very wet.
The fully serviced pitches are at the far end of the hard standing area, we had pitch 141 I believe. That building is disused and not a shower block but that didn't bother us.
The pitches on this site are huge, even the grass ones, play area fantastic and the kids loved having the freedom of riding their bikes carefully around the site roads.
Loo block usual high standard although cleaning could be a bit later.
Location is 10 mins from Sandown and 15 from Newport. Both have a Morrison and a New Asda is at Newport. Fuel is significantly cheaper than the £1.35 we saw elsewhere, Morrison was £1.07 with another 2p p/l voucher if you spent £30.
Site is about 30 mins from Cowes ferry but beware the roads can clog quickly.
Overall very impressed and there is loads to do for kids.
Would go back but a week would be better as you would get better value out of the free return for 7 days for Robin Hill and Black Gang, otherwise they are expensive on their own.
Glad we had a hard standing as it was very wet but we still found things to do.
Top notch site
Southland has been on our list for a few years now but as it is so close we've not managed to get there until last week. What a delight we have missed. The site is one of the best we've been on with exceptionally clean toilet blocks and immaculate grounds. We arrived to a warm welcome and the friendliness of the site staff remained high throughout. As we arrived at our pitch the staff member asked if he could mow the pitch surround which was considerate. We chose a hard standing as heavy rain was forecast and the advantage was we met a friendly group of people, in fact we kept meeting them across the island.
There is lots to do and will suit all ages and we will be coming back.
Thanks to the staff for making our stay so enjoyable.
4 Day stay at Southlands
( We are Motorhomers.)
Easy to find from East Cowes ferry terminal. ( Take no notice of the road closed sign as you can still access the club site). Easy access into the entrance. Nearest supermaket and petrol station is Morrisons 2 miles up road.
Usual welcome from C & M Club staff, no probs.
Pitch wide and spacious. Electric points close to pitches.
Quiet site, well it was in October and before the half term break. All amenities tidy and clean especially the toilets and showers :)
There is a lovely quiet meadow just past the dog walk that has benches and was lovely to sit and watch the sunset and see rabbits hopping about and other birdlife.
Easy access to anywhere on the island, but beware lots of restricted width access signs on the majority of the smaller roads.
The local pub , The Pointers I believe, a 10 min walk from site I found a little disappointing to be honest , it caters really far more for the restaurant side than casual walkers who want a drink. We did not eat there but they seem to be very much in demand for tables so the food must be good? Not the friendliest of staff that I have come across sadly.
There are loads of walks, we downloaded one that was a 5 mile circular walk that started and ended in the village across fields and only a couple of roads. It was lovely.
This is a good site to explore the island.
Autumn Visit
We had a peaceful Autumnal visit to Southland Caravan Club Site. An A-class site with roomy pitches and well kept grounds. The staff were all very friendly and soon had us settled down on our pitch. The toilet block was spotless with plenty of showers and toilets and two hairdryers. Opposite a spacious dish washing room and next door a laundry. The roads around the island were quite accessible even with the motor home but it was nice to come back to the site at the end of a busy day knowing that it was going to be quiet and restful. We didn't get a chance to use the pub down the road but we did find a lovely large nursery a few minutes walk the other way. It was well stocked with plants and gifts and had a very nice restaurant. I was a bit disappointed with a couple of dog owners who think it is OK to walk their dogs around the living areas on long extended leads rather than take their pets down to the dog walk, but after a summer of touring that seems to be the norm. A fish and chip van was advertised on site, and on Saturday evening we decided a fish and chip supper would round the week's visit off very nicely. We arrived at the van only to find it was the last night of the season and there were only chips left, being hungry we settled for just the chips and wished we hadn't as they were tasteless! However I would recommend this site and would like to return as the Isle of Wight has such charm.
A Wonderful Site
Have just spent 2 weeks on this site and loved it, even in the rain! We arrived in brilliant sunshine after the previous couple of days of high winds and rain. The welcome was so friendly from a very well organised happy team, so impressive especially as we were booked in for 2 weeks, we've never stayed on a site for longer than 4 days! We loved our stay with so much to do on the Island. I had planned various days out and was pleased that the weather held for most of our trips. Osbourne Beach was so relaxing in their deck chairs just watching the sailing boats and ferries, I didn't think I'd get my husband round the house before closing time! We can highly recommend the Pointer Inn in the village (turn left out of the site) and The Fighting Cocks for Sunday Lunch down on the main road. Also the Fish & Chips van comes twice a week. The site is large with lovely grass areas that are surrounded by trees and shrubs and very protected from the wind. The hardstanding area is more open and can get windy but when you have a motorhome and car trailer hardstanding is so welcome these were large enough to accommodate trailer, motorhome and car with still space on the hardstanding for our chairs and table. The loo block is immaculate in fact the whole site is, the wardens work extremely hard to keep it that way and it shows. It has to be the best site with the friendliest wardens in our Club. Thank you Martin and Team.
A great fortnight at Southland
Just spent a great 2 weeks at Southland. Can't rate the site high enough. All the wardens were just great. The welcome - 5 star, knowledge of things to do - 5 star, hard working - 5 star. A really top team. The way they look after the site, would make them contenders for Chelsea Flower Show!
The loo block always clean and tidy, and the disabled loo, which my good lady needs to use rates it as one of the best she's used in recent years, because not only was it clean and tidy, but it was warm.
This was our second visit and we will be back.

5 stars all the way!
Absolutely a 5* site. Spotless to say the least. Toilets & Showers were immaculate, as was washing facilities. It is central for visiting anywhere on the island. Supermarkets were nearby too. Pointers inn a walk down the road serves a wonderful Sunday dinner.
Will definitely be returning 👍

Diversion signs
Currently there is a road closure ........If you follow instructions on location in the handbook it will direct you to the road to the site which when you approach has closed signs across it, if you don't know ( like us) the road is closed after the entrance to the site, so you can still use the entry road.
Agree with other comments about warden's and the hardwork they do repairing pitches and generally keeping the site very tidy.
