Disappointed

Well what a disappointment , really looking forward to our visit having read some good reviews. Arrived later than planned due to traffic holdups, had booked a service pitch and there were several free told by the warden in reception although number nine was free the previous occupants had not moved as they wanted extra time on pitch this was now after 13.00hours never heard of this before, was told I could go on one of free pitches and move onto nine when the occupants left. Not prepared to do that told her. Found another pitch which suited. Next day walking round site to get bearings but couldn't find dog walk. Asked a warden who was passing and what a rude patronising and sarcastic person this was. Told me where it was but in a very sarcastic tone told me three times that this information would have been given to me on my arrival, most unhelpful warden I've ever come across in 24 years of membership. Later that day went to showers in my car due to it been very windy and cold. Parked near to showers on the fringes of the grass pitch field which was empty. Came back to my caravan and shortly afterwards this warden, don't know his name came to front of my caravan shouting something through the caravan window couldn't hear him due to the wind. Went into awning and Alex what he wanted and again in loud voice asked if I'd been to 'loo' in my car and said I had and he said you can't park on the grass no reason given I said where can I park and he said in the car park and walked off. What a rude almost bullying person he was. I felt quite embarrassed as other caravaners were in ear shot. Obviously this warden needs training in customer relations!!

A good weekend

Just bin to this site for a long weekend, we can't praise the staff enough well done the site is beutifully kept good sized pitches we had a serviced pitch slight slope but not a merger problem. The shower block is meticulasly maintained warm and plenty of hot water, this site has the added advantage of a bar and restaurant we ate here on Friday night a good meal at a reasonable price there was a club act on Friday and Saturday very enjoyable well worth it. The carvery on Sunday is very good . Cromer is a ten min walk and there is a bus stop out side the camp if needed

Nice site but mud pitch.

We visited Seacroft at the end or September for five nights ,we had booked a pitch with awning but l am sorry to say that the pitch was just mud,for £26-20 per night it was far too expensive,if we had got a hardstanding pitch which are the same price no complaints, because this site is very nicely located. This is a very busy site so you would think the club could afford to pu in more hardstanding.

annniversary break

My husband and I stayed on this site for 4 nights from 30th Sept in celebration of our 40th wedding anniversary. Very warm welcome when we arrived, toilet blocks very clean and showers were lovely and hot with good water pressure (some sites we have stayed on the shower heads are too high with poor pressure), i am 5'3" and found these showers great. great site for walking along cliff top to Sherringham, Cromer, Overstrand etc. We did eat in the cafe on site, food pretty good and good prices for beer etc. The wardens keep the site very trim and tidy, would stay again if in the area. We had pitch No. 111 lovely large serviced pitch, unfortunately in was so exposed to the strong winds that we ended up taking our awning down in fear of it getting damaged. Strongly recommend this site. Lovely beaches.

A delightful site

We have visited this site for several years now, what we like most is the location, within easy walking distance of Cromer, and a little further to Sheringham and Overstrand it is just perfect. Additionally there is the excellent coast hopper bus service, which, from outside the gate will transport you anywhere along the beautiful North Norfolk Coastline. We always book a serviced pitch, as this way we know what we are getting. If I had to use one of the grass pitches, I would be less than happy. Along with all sites, these do tend to suffer wear and tear throughout the season and become muddy in inclement weather. I also dislike the fact that some pitches are situated in the middle of the grassed area, meaning the site looks cramped and untidy at busy times. The facilities are generally good with spotless toilets and friendly and helpful staff. The clubhouse facilities are acceptable, the atmosphere is pleasant, the food, whilst it could never be considered 'cordon bleu', is edible, however I would prefer not to be called 'mate' by the bar staff. The site along with many others does suffer from multiple dog syndrome, whilst I have nothing against dogs, I do object to thoughtless owners. During our visit we did unfortunately find several instances of dog faeces left around the site. Notwithstanding all this we will definitely return next year.

upset

We arrived at 12.30 after being on the road for 5 hours we where looking forward to get settled in. We was the third person waiting in front of us was another caravan and a motorhome When I got to reception the motorhome owner was trying to get a pitch,as I understand it she had not booked in advance , where I had booked in advance She then told the man on reception that she had miss placed her credit card,we then had to wait while she returned to her motorhome to find it, by this time more caravans arrived blocking the entrance.Iwas told that I had to wait until she returned and paid.I got on site To find that all hard standing where not vacant and the motorhome in front of us parked on a hard standing. We booked our pitch months in advance only to be ousted by someone who just turned up wanting a pitch. If this club is going to let motorhomes in then why are there letting then park on caravan pitches with space for a awning and we are left with a pitch with no room to put a awning up.

Poor "welcome" to a mud pitch

I booked two nights at this site, by telephone the day before arrival. When I got there the grumpy female warden (the one who was not in CAMC uniform) couldn't find the booking online. Despite she being the person to whom I spoke the afternoon before she couldn't remember our conversation and snapped "I spoke to a lot of people yesterday". Her whole attitude to me was that I must be lying about making the booking. As they had a few vacant pitches anyway, it didn't really matter. The three available pitches for our motorhome were all "grass". None was level and all were just mud heaps. Previous campers had clearly not followed the CAMC instruction to lift their awning ground sheets daily - or even at all. This inconsiderate behaviour should be outlawed. Those who don't care about who comes next should pay a surcharge if they leave the pitch in such a disgusting state. Even better would be if groundsheets were banned altogether. Who needs a groundsheet in an awning anyway? We are supposed to be camping, not recreating our sitting room at home! All this was a pity because Seacroft is beautifully located, just a short walk into the attractive seaside town of Cromer. Facilities are fine and although we didn't use the pool it did look very inviting. Nevertheless we won't risk staying there again.

Perfect for all the family

We had a fantastic four night break with the Granddaughters...it was nice to see many other Grandparents doing the same as us. A great site for kids of all ages, well run site everyone very friendly and polite. The club house was a bonus, the food was very reasonably priced and at £2.50 a pint no complaints. Evening entertainment.....entertaining!! My only slight negative is the restaurant area could do with a little TLC a lick of paint and curtains needed re-hanging. Outside the floor surrounding the pool area could do with a steam clean. We loved it and will return sometime in the future

Excellent site

We have just returned from a four night stay here with our two young grandchildren. The site is in a wonderful location, within walking distance of Cromer and the pier where we caught crabs! We enjoyed the restaurant on site, the food was good and reasonably priced, as were the drinks at the bar. The children loved the pool, and although crowded at times, had a thoroughly good time. The shower block got a bit dirty hence the four stars, that was through no fault of the lovely staff, but due to inconsiderate members. I noticed that a lot of youngsters were unsupervised when taking showers, this might be something to consider. The staff were lovely, approachable and kind to the children. We observed they were patient with less than polite people, including a man who was swearing at some children who were playing near his van. If you want peace and quiet in the school holidays then don't come here. If you want a lovely safe environment where your children and grandchildren can have fun, this is the place for you. We will be back next year.
