On arrival the staff were so welcoming and friendly telling us to find our pitch and report later once settled. We really love the 'Useful Information' sheet they gave us, not many sites are doing this now, (we have stayed on 10 club sites this year and not many do it, one rudely said there was one on the information board but the important telephone numbers etc were spread about and not at all helpful, so well done and thank you Seacroft).
The site was lovely and tidy and the facilities, although looking a bit dated and in need of some general tlc, were spotlessly clean and ALL toilets and showers were open every day we were there, despite the site being half full, again on most of the other sites we have stayed this year there has always been one or two toilets and showers permanently closed (apparently due to staff shortages, so again well done Seacroft).
AND a delight that there wasn't any signs of a biffa bin, all service points had normal bins for rubbish, again I reiterate most of the sites this year have had a biffa bin area and mostly meant a long walk to dispose of rubbish. Again well done Seacroft.
The Wanderer was open every day and even though we didnt use it spoke to others who had and said it was excellent.
The location is perfect for a stroll into Cromer one way or East Runton the other, lovely circular walk from East Runton along the beach to Cromer pier, coffee, cake on the pier and walk back to site.
I would add that we went out of season and the grass pitches were closed therefore the site felt half empty but good to see that The Wanderer was still open every day and wardens always happy with a wave and a smile.
This site feels like it should do, a proper campsite for people to relax and enjoy their stay, the reasons we joined the caravan club.
Wonderful site!
Just returned from another fabulous week at this lovely site. Contrary to some previous reviewers, we were very happy with the facilities - it is a campsite after all - not a 5* hotel! The staff were very welcoming and friendly and worked hard to keep the site clean and tidy and looking good. The location was perfect for us - a stroll to Cromer one way and a longer walk along the coast path to sheringham the other. Regular buses go from the entrance. We only used the clubhouse once but the food was lovely and they catered for my gluten free needs without any problems. Will definitely be returning!
Getting a bit tired
We had stayed here a few years ago and remembered it as being quite well situated and appointed. Well, the bar and café were as good as we remembered, but we thought some other features were getting more than a bit tired, especially the showers. Access to the toilet block is now by keypad – ok in daylight but you need a torch to see the characters after dark. Really, it’s very expensive for what is actually on offer, and there are loads of other touring parks in the area. Our main reason for staying here again was the bus stop right by the entrance.
Great location - Site is getting tired
This site is in a great location and the Wardens could not have been more helpful.
The facilities were spotless but, getting tired, taps broken, waste plugs missing and tiles cracked. but, not enough for the number of pitches, would hate to be there when they are fully booked. Cost cutting came to mind.
We paid £50 a night for two of us in a caravan which for late September was high but, the location was convenient.
Excellent site we will be back
I stayed on this site for 3 nights and I wish we had been able to stay longer.
I know there are quite a few reviews saying the washing/toilet facilities are dated and in need of updating. I cannot comment on this as we don't use the facilities as we use the ones in our Motorhome.
The pitch we had was a nice level hardstanding pitch. It was a full site but very quiet. The other campers on site where all polite and we met some really nice people. The staff where very friendly and you would see them out on the site doing their daily chores to keep the site clean and tidy.
We really loved the fact we could walk from the site across the Road onto the beach cliff. Then follow it into Cromer for the town centre or continue along the sea front to the Pier and beyond.
We will definitely be back .
Summer Family Break
Although the site is in a fantastic location the facilities are now really showing their age and areas need some TLC. We have been regularly using the site for many years now, but the lack of any recent investment really shows! It is unfortunately in line with the whole ethos of the club now with profit more important than the quality of the holiday of their members. The children’s play field has been filled with more pitches so that the children have less green areas and the already maxed out facilities are overstretched. The number of wardens have been reduced meaning the areas are not as well maintained as previously and the entertainment in the clubhouse is nowhere near at the level it used to be. The premium price at which this site now commands is no longer competitive with much better private sites in the area.

Think carefully
All grass pitches are on a slope caravan needs jacking up and hard standing too. People on hard standing have a 9m pitch but like to extend on the grass to the back of other caravans. No consideration for walking through other people’s pitches. This is not a normal a Caravan and Motorhome club site more like a holiday camp. We had a few issues complained to the wardens but they did not address the situation. All wardens on that site are letting people do what they want to avoid confrontation. Kids playing with balls around caravans etc. we usually see wardens travelling around other sites checking people are adhering to the rules not this one. Only one toilet block so when cleaning taking place only one toilet available. Key code into toilets proves a problem in the dark need a torch or your phone. Obviously people don’t read the information and adhere to the rules. Moving pegs on grass pitches to extend plots. We book caravan and Motorhome sites because they are more orderly and the facilities are brilliant and there is general respect among caravanners etc. if you have standards like us don’t book this site.
Good all rounder
Been visiting this site for 5 years. We like the facilities, with the pool and on-site bar/restaurant. The chef does an amazing job considering how understaffed they are.
Entertainment and bar has started to finish earlier and earlier over the years which is a shame.
Lovely site which is well maintained and has a dog walk area.
Position great, short walk to Cromer one way and the other to a shop and fish and chip place. Plus access to the beach.
Highly recommend the Cromer pier show. Fantastic variety performance and well worth it.
Visited the Red Lion in town but wouldn’t recommend.
Mad Hatters is lovely for cream teas.
Lovely stay,
Lovely stay, wardens friendly, only downside was the toilet facilities are dated and in need of a re-furb
Super Location but a site in need of TLC
A busy site, as we expected, staying during the summer school holidays. Great location for getting to the beach and Cromer. Excellent to have access to an onsite pool. Staff were very friendly.
Here goes with the negatives, shower block was tired and run down. Facilities not always the cleanest. Laundry had only one washing machine and dryer. Which doesn’t meet the demand. We were told the washing machine had been broken for the 2 weeks prior.
All in all - location, location, location! But standard of facilities need plenty of TLC.
