Good site

Finally, we found a campsite with a pub. Unfortunately due to staff shortage food was only available on one evening but after a long day out it was a pleasure to nip in the pub for a drink. The staff are friendly and the site is extremely clean. The toilet block has showers, toilet with sink cubicles and toilets. It was a 15 minute walk into Cromer and we caught a bus into the next village. Had a very pleasant stay and will definitely try and book again, although they get full extremely quickly.

A Week Long Stay

We have been to Seacroft a couple of times before but this time we decided to stay for a week and booked a service pitch. Not cheap at £37 a night for two of us but it was very convenient. Didn't really use the toilet block as we prefer our own facilities but they seemed to be of a good standard without being luxurious. The Bar/Restaurant was open five days a week. Used it once for a takeaway which was fine, very large chips!!! Did think we might use it again for meal in the restaurant but were rather put off by the large televisions in both eating sections. Prefer to eat in peace rather than hearing people yelling at the TV if a goal is scored! Good they have the TV hook up on the electrical bollards for a reliable TV picture. This is an excellent location for motorhomers if you don't want to take your unit off site. There are very regular bus services in both directions from just outside the site entrance. Can recommend "The Mo" or the Sheringham Museum, entrance fee quite modest. It traces the history of the Lifeboats operating out of Sheringham and on the upper floors how the town developed over the years with the advent of the railway. Speaking of railways the North Norfolk Heritage Railway starts by the main car park. It's a reasonably easy walk into Cromer.

A nice weekend

We recently had a long weekend at this site, our first visit and will not be our last. The reception we received was a bit off putting as the staff were dealing with new arrivals who were struggling to get to grips with the new booking system which meant they couldn't book what they wanted! The new arrivals area is a bit chaotic when we arrived at 2pm and that was with only 3 units. We used the top Motorhome point which appears to have barely any water pressure! We were given the choice of two pitches and we actually liked the one we initially discounted as it turned out to be sheltered from the wind. We walked into Cromer a couple of times and had a thoroughly good time for a short break. The facilities are slightly tired, but not helped by the fact that some people seem to thing cleaning up after themselves doesn't apply to them! We never used the Bar or Restaurant because it was not open when we wanted to use it.

When the toilet roll is blowing in the breeze in the toilet block you know they are well ventilated

It really is about time this site is not described as refurbished to a high standard because it does lead to an expectation that is not met. By the end of the summer the grass pitches are looking very tired and we needed to use levelling blocks for our campervan. We like CAMC sites because you can usually be sure the facilities will be warm and pleasant, however, here doors and windows are left open and showering was a very chilly and unpleasant experience. We do not mind that the facilities block is tired and old we just want it to be warm. The site is in a good position for Cromer and Sheringham and the coast is lovely.

Great friendly site

Thankfully we ignored the negative reviews given in August. Naturally the visiting fair had gone. The site was busy but this caused No issues. The shower block was clean with enough toilets sinks and showers to accommodate all guests. No nasty drain smells. We found the staff to be pleasant and accommodating. The grounds were kept in immaculate condition. There is a field for tents too which we have found to be rare. It was good to have the option of a bar and restaurant on site. We were able to walk to Cromer along the coastal path and then to East Runton. The beach at Runton was amazing. Yellow sand, lots of interesting flint rock to look at. All in all a great break away. We would recommend this site. Camping in school holidays is always going to be a different kind of experience unless an adult only site is picked.

Noises Fun Fare in field next door Avoid August school holidays if you want a peaceful break

We arrived at Seacroft, and were meet by the friendly site team. We pitched up, unpacked and made ourselves comfortable. It didn’t last long, at 6pm the fun fare in the adjacent field started up with blaring music, screaming children and a really aggravating DJ. The fare had been on site all August school holidays and was not due to pack up until the school holidays finished. We were later informed that this a yearly occurrence, although there is no mention of it on the club site. The site itself could be so much more, it has a nice heated outdoor pool, and on site entertainment club. The on site restaurant was closed all during our break, due to lack of a chef. The single shower block is tired and can be what is best described as aromatic. Even planting a few bushes to separate the different sites would help immensely as people, dogs and children on bikes would take the most direct routes through the site. It’s not the sites fault or the clubs about the fun fare, but if you go back and look at previous August stays, it’s obviously been a on going problem, and one the club should warn members of in advance. The fact you pay a premium price for a disturbed and restless break only adds insult. Whilst we stayed put and made the best we could, plenty of others left early and went to other sites. It’s obviously a nice site or else others would not have rated it so highly, but we will not return to this site again, such a shame it could have been so much better. It will be interesting to see if the club or site responds to any of the poor reviews.

Noisy! Pre-warned is pre-armed!!

We have just returned home from Seacroft and what a relief! The constant fairground noise from the adjacent field was shocking - a warning when booking really was necessary! The site itself is obviously not to blame for the arrival of the fair on the field next door, but this is not the first year this has happened - we were reliably informed - and so why a warning could not have been given when booking is very frustrating. Constant fairground noise from 6-10 pm for 5 nights really is not acceptable. The facilities on the site really do require a makeover - one toilet/shower block for the entire site is just not enough. A very disappointing stay - we will certainly not be returning.

Very Noisy Fair Next Door during August

We have visited Seacroft several times before and enjoyed our stays. However sadly on this occasion we felt let down by the club. Parked on the adjacent field was a fun fair that is apparently there during every August and part of September. We were blasted by thumping disco music and an accompanying jabbering DJ from 6pm - 10pm nightly. The club should warn members about this when booking. Additionally according to the blackboard outside "The Wanderer" was not open for food. Plus the take away option was open on one evening only during our six night stay. Apparently due to staffing issues/shortages. The wifi was very flakey to say the least and we gave up with it as it often displayed "no internet connection". The mens facilities are not refurbished to a high standard and are tired. Overall we did not get value for the money we paid to stay at Seacroft. All other aspects of the site are what you would expect at a club location. We did enjoy Cromer and may return to Seacroft again but not when the fair is there.

Besides the sea.

Time to change 1st page of info.states refurbished to a high standard.goodness knows how long ago !! Toilet block really shabby and on occasions smelly. No one seems to tell children about one way system or to avoid people.especially when its dark. A bit cramped, trying to get as many pitches in as possible I expect. Really expensive for what you get.not value for money. Only good thing is bus to sheringham and walking distance to cromer. Time to consider if membership and site fees are worth it.

Mis sold and not what we expected

We stayed at Seacroft this weekend (august bank holiday). The sales picture shows a position right next to the sea on a cliff. Imagine being half a mile off that position inland across a main road and that is where the site is. We did not see any views at all. The wardens - when we were welcomed, there was one man who was kind and welcoming, the other was abrupt and sour. The pitches are very VERY close together. Worst of all, there is absolutely NO warning about the fun fair that is directly next to the site. It was like sleeping in a nightclub at Halloween. Yes, It finishes at 10pm but that is not a family friendly site in my opinion. My two toddlers could not sleep until very late and it was a Detriment to the rest of the holiday. I felt unsafe hearing shouting and screaming people so close to our caravan. The pool was nice and warm, but absolutely tiny for the size of the site. The facilities are not particularly good either. Such a disappointing holiday for us.
