What amazing work the staff have done so that we can all enjoy a safe and clean site. I cannot begin to imagine the pressure they are under to keep it that way. They were constantly working and the site looked pristine. We didn't t use the the showers or toilets ..we used our own. I don't understand the need and to put the wardens under extra pressures..that's, loyalty for you..I hope management appreciate the extra work they are doing. We had a peaceful and restful 3 days thank you very much. Keep safe and well.
Another great stay!
Just home from a 3 night stay. We arrived on the 4th July ( the first day they opened) greeted as usual by the friendly wardens. Lots of procedures have been put in place to keep it Covid-19 safe. We were on a fully serviced pitch and only used our own facilities But hubby did check out the facilities and everything was spotless. Regular cleaning and limits to the amount of people at any one time. We had a lovely take away meal from the restaurant which was up to its usual standard. It was so lovely to be back in the caravan and we felt totally safe and reassured by all the planning that had taken place. Can’t wait to go back again.
Lovely site
We spent a week at this lovely site – even after visiting a few times we still enjoy our visits, Wardens Alan and Karen and Sara and Simon are perfect hosts and always working hard to ensure that all campers had a pleasant stay and were happy to chat and help when needed. They keep the site maintained to a very high standard and the facilities are always clean.
Our visit coincided with the fast pace of the coronavirus pandemic and sadly we had to leave before the end of our planned stay as the all the caravan club sites were closed at short notice. Karen, Alan, Sara and Simon worked tirelessly to make sure the facilities, door handles, taps etc were cleaned and wiped regularly throughout the day. The Wanderer restaurant was closed due to the coronavirus restrictions but a limited take away was available at the weekends – credit to the staff for their efforts.
Nice walk into Cromer – always keeping ourselves at a ‘socially acceptable distance’ we enjoyed a windy walk along the beach and pier and a visit to Sheringham. During these strange unknown times its strange not to visit the local cafes and restaurants.
Finally, I can’t stress enough our thanks to Wardens Alan and Karen and Sara and Simon who worked so hard with the coronavirus situation changing what seemed like every hour and they always had a smile and just got on with things. Thanks to you all – keep well, keep safe and hopefully see you very soon.
NYE a night to remember
My wife, myself and some friends have just returned from The Seacroft site where we celebrated New Year’s Eve. The site was as one would expect a club site to be - very clean and well maintained.
We attended the New Year’s Eve party, in The Wanderer Complex, and were very very impressed by the quality and quantity of food available on the buffet, in fact we have paid considerably more and got far less at local hotels in the past. The evening was slightly marred by a power failure in the local area but the wardens, the assistant wardens and all of the staff acted very professionally and kept us all informed as to what was going on and when we might expect normal service to resume.
During the power outage there was good banter between all in attendance and all of the staff worked very hard to ensure that everyone had a drink and were enjoying themselves. The buffet was brought forward, a credit to the catering staff and with torches and candles everyone tucked in. The evening turned out to be a fantastic night with the staff joining in at midnight to bring in the new year. When we tried to book for this year we were told that there was already a waiting list - so here’s hoping for some cancellations.
One of our friends was celebrating their birthday, a couple of days early, and again the wardens and staff went out of their way to ensure that she celebrated in style.
A fun quiz was held on the 2nd January hosted by the Warden which included questions which gave rise to relevant information promoting the club and its facilities, is there no limit to her talents?
Once again please pass our thanks and appreciation on to all of the staff involved in making this a night to remember.
With greatful thanks, we will be back.
November at Cromer!
We have visited this site a few times - this time we had the added excitement of strong winds - always a plus to see the waves if you are strong enough to stand up!! The weather had been exceptionally wet the previous week or so but the site was well drained and the Wanderer which has restricted opening out of season was opened for a very generous evening meal.
Cromer is an easy walk away whatever the weather and nice to potter around for a while,
We drove south along the coast road one day just to revive memories and discovered the Swan at Ingham near Happisburgh for lunch!!! A refurbished "village pub" done to a beautiful standard after a disastrous fire - lovely food, friendly staff - couldn't fault it - slightly pricey but so worth it.
We visited various beach and coast areas and found the erosion quite worrying considering we had only missed a year or so.
Bird life abounds and out of season the little by roads are a pleasure - enjoy your stay in North Norfolk but keep it a secret, selfishly we don't want ot to get too busy out of season!
Seacroft
We enjoyed a second stay at Seacroft, this time round we noticed the bar and restaurant had improved, the menu was better and so was the seating so our meal seemed better too! We were only there for a few nights but booked a serviced pitch which proved to be worth the extra money and we had a sea view too.
We had time to take the coastal bus to Cley Nature Reserve where there is a good visitor centre and cafe, it was a bit chilly out on the marshes but we saw a variety of wild fowl. On another day we walked into Cromer and took the train to Norwich, good value train tickets and nice modern trains. Norwich has some beautiful buildings including the cathedral where we spent most of our time, a lot of walking involved, the signage is confusing if you don't know the area and roadworks get in the way! Our final night was spent on Cromer Pier, seeing the first night of the Christmas Show, a lovely old theatre, decked out in festive lights, a nice end to our visit.
We will be back!
We came for a week in November 2019 and apart from the odd reasonable weather day, most of the week was heavy rain and high cold winds. But, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay, long wet and windy walks along the cliffs and beach and into the lovely town of Cromer, all within easy reach of the site. The facilities were spotlessly clean and very warm with the usual high standard of these Club Sites managed by a friendly efficient team of wardens. The bar and restaurant was very pleasant, opening days were from Thursday to Sunday (nice roast dinner) and the double yolk eggs sold in reception were delicious, a lovely treat. It was a busy site especially for the time of year, but it is not surprising and we look forward to going again.
Return Visit to Cromer
Seacroft seems to becoming a popular site for us as I think this is now our third visit. It is a very good site if you have a motorhome as you can leave it onsite if you wish and either walk from the site or use the regular bus service from immediately outside the entrance. Cromer and Sheringham are both worth a visit. We don't usually take our motorhome off site but on this occasion we did make the short journey to Felbrigg Hall which has good road access and also has motorhome friendly parking and is well worth a visit. Seacroft is one of a small number of Club sites with a restaurant/bar. We enjoyed and nice meal in the restaurant, just wished more sites had this facility. We booked a serviced pitch simply to guarantee a hardstanding pitch as this site has more standard grass pitches that standard hardstanding. Apparently the grass pitches are always closed on the 1st October, why on earth don't the Club publicise this? It would of saved me a few quid. I do really think the Club need to create more hardstanding pitches as generally the grass pitches are unsuitable for motorhome or if this not possible allow us to book pitch surface as the C&CC does. Good to see that the motorhome waste point near to reception has been converted to an open grill design. Time of visit late October.
October visit
We visited Seacroft in October and had booked for three nights. Unfortunately due to a minor emergency at home we could only stay for two nights. During our visit all the grass pitches were not in use so everyone was on a hard standing. The site is quite large with the pitches being reasonably spaced out. As far as we could tell, all the pitches were booked out whilst we were there. The facilities block was kept very clean and tidy and had adequate toilets showers etc. for the number of people staying at the time. Depending where you are pitched, the facilities block could be a little bit of a walk if the weather is inclement. The on-site bar and restaurant were very welcoming although we did not eat there as we had to curtail our visit. The town of Cromer is a short walk away, fifteen minutes or less and is very old fashioned and quite charming. There is a bus stop outside the site which would enable motor homers to travel further afield without moving the van. This is certainly a site we would want to return to next year.
