Went for 6 nights.

We went for 6 nights the woman's showers had no hot water and no explanation was given apart from a note on the door of the shower block door .we also had no mains power for 3 hours for 2 nights no explanation given at all for this . This had put a downer on our stay and no refund offered. I do not like giving a negative comments but feel let down on this occasion .

Great for a few nights

Arrived on a sunny afternoon and had a simple check in with the friendly warden. I've been before and hoped the pitch I wanted would be free and it was (often is as it is a little way from the toilet block which some visitors have an issue with). There was a power cut which caused me no inconvenience as I was far away from the emergency generator and it only lasted less than 8 hours but I'm sure people nearer the toilet blocks would've been a little disturbed. It's a small site in some lovely countryside with an unfortunately located scrambling track nearby which slightly disturbed the peace and tranquility for a short while but not a lot to worry about. Everything was clean and well cared for, showers okay (could be hotter) and there was no issue in terms of waiting. I like it there and very convenient for visiting friends and customers as well as the rest of the family joining for a BBQ!

A well-kept, attractive site!

We were very pleasantly welcomed by a helpful warden. The site is very attractive and well set out. It is generally quiet, but there is a busy road closeby and there were a lot of motor bikes roaring up and down on one of the nights we were there. The shower and toilet block were spotlessly clean and there was a laundry available too. We had a grass pitch on the top meadow by the shower block which was dry, there are hard standing on lower terraces which a sited away from the facilities. The Reception had a small shop for milk, eggs, bacon etc, but you need to make sure you are well stocked as it is a fair drive to the nearest supermarket. No pub within walking distance but the warden recommended The Silver Plough for food and it was very good although a seven mile drive. The site is most suited to adults as there is no specific place for older children to play. All in all a good place to stay if a restful spot is what you want, although Salisbury and Old Sarum are within a nine mile drive and well worth a visit. Watch out for a steep speed bump on entry down the narrow entance lane!

A Charming Country Site

A very Pleasant site and apart from the paddock by the reception, the pitches are dotted around the tree lined hillside in small areas. There are some hard standings, which we found ideal for our March visit. With the trees not yet in full bloom there were some lovely views over the surrounding countryside but as the trees turn to leaf, this could obscure some of the views. Note that there is an uphill walk from the hillside pitches to the shower block which provides your early morning exercise! The staff were very friendly and the small shop stocked milk and lovely free range eggs. It is well located for visiting Salisbury and its attractions (Cathedral, Edward Heath's house & NTs Mompesson House in Cathedral Close and shops) and not far from NTs Mottisfont House and Gardens with its Rex Whistler exhibition. You are more restricted if in a motorhome as the Bus routine to Salisbury although available has a limited timetable and there is an 8’ bar across the park and ride car park just outside Salisbury.

A Countryside Site

A warm welcome to this relatively small site a little distance from Salisbury. The toilet block was well kept and very clean. We pitched our caravan on the open area at the top of the site rather than in the other small areas amongst the trees. Our three night stay enabled us to visit the Cathedral, Edward Heath's house & the National Trust property in Cathedral Close. Hillside is a site in the country with easy access to places of interest.

Ideal for a short break.

Pleasant site. Vans in small areas, with some hardstandings, ideal for our March visit. Getting to the shower block means an uphill walk, and the water pressure is only moderate, but no problems. Friendly staff. Well located for visiting Salisbury, New Forest, Stonehenge/Avebury, various NT properties, or just for peaceful chilling!

Two night stay

A really neat little site. A friendly welcome on a wet blustery day. The layout suited us with little pockets to tuck the motorhome in to. Dog walk is a longish grassy lane down the side of the site, which was good for off the lead runs. Nice hot shower.

Overnight stop

We stopped overnight in September 2016 but I did not wish to stay any longer. A trek to the shower, toilet and washing up facilities which were clean and well maintained. There is no dog walk on site apart from a strip of overgrown uneven ground. very peaceful.
