Thanks to Staff

First time on this site but we will return ASAP.... If a nature lover, probably worth going in different seasons to catch the changing patterns of nature. As mentioned before the staff are great and we must thank Richard imparticulary for sorting out an electrical problem we had with the water heater on our motor home. Fantastic customer care from the team.

Fantastic Site

What a site? What a setting? Tranquil, peaceful, restful, relaxing. We stayed here for four nights one of the best sites we been to. The wardens where excellent with very good customer service. The pitches are separated out into groups and there was plenty of space between those opposite. There is direct access from the site to the nature walk with lakes, pond, river and bird hides. There is a chalk board for members to list their sitings, including an adder at the location, alas we didn't see one or a kingfisher. Not that that detracted from the wonderful wildlife we did see. The facilities block is large and well laid out, very clean and the wardens do an excellent job keeping it spotless. There is a covered dishwashing area as well as a laundry room. There is an onsite shop with basics if needed and just out off the site about half a mile away is a petrol station with a good shop. Overall a fantastic site highly recommended

Quiet & Peaceful

First visit to this site & the overall impression was excellent. We stayed for 11 nights in a caravan on pitch 37 with a large grass area in front of the hard standing pitches. It's a very good site for seeing wild life both on the site & in the surrounding areas. The site was full most of the time during our stay so there were queues for the facilities some mornings. Many of the pitch locations have large grass areas in front & I wondered how they would be used when there were more families staying. We left on the 15 July & weren't aware of any problems during our stay. On the A697 adjacent to the lane leading to the site there is a fuel station with a well stocked mini market. In the same develpment there is a fea market/tea room. We can recommend both facilities. Other than visiting the local nature reserve there's not much you can do on foot from the site but it's conveniently located for visiting many of the area's attractions by car.

So quiet!

What a beautiful, peaceful site! Friendly wardens who clearly work hard to make this a clean and tidy site. Lovely walks with plenty of wildlife to enjoy Would recommend this site if you are looking for a relaxing time

Always a pleasure to stay here!

This site is excellent from the moment you check in at the reception you feel welcome the hosts are absolutely wonderful. The shower block etc is always kept clean, the grass cut and around bins etc are always tidy. Only reservation being that the nightly cost for your pitch is becoming a little expensive so this could deter us from visiting in the future.

Peaceful

Lovely site with great wardens. Nice and peaceful. Just what's needed. Wardens are a credit to the club. Nothing is too much trouble and really helpful with local info.

A relaxing stay

The wardens were very friendly and were on the hands and knees picking weeds out the gravel areas instead of using weed killer. How good is this ! This was our first stay at this site and really enjoyed it. Didn't like the idea of no entry or exit barriers where anyone can just drive in. Got out for long walks but not many places to let dog off lead. Next visit planned for Powburn Show weekend.

Just perfect!

We have just returned from our first visit to River Breamish site, just the kind of place we love. There's a good dog walk on the site and a lovely walk to the nearby nature reserve, perfect for wildlife watchers , one day we counted 46 different birds in the area! The surrounding countryside is beautiful and a trip to one of the many beaches with miles of sands is a must, especially if you have a dog. We visited Alnmouth, a lovely quiet little place with tea rooms and cafes and a super beach. On Mondays a fish and chip van visits the site from 5 - 7 pm. Delicious! The site is well cared for by the friendly wardens, and the shower block is kept lovely and clean. We will definitely visit this super site again.

Breamish

First time we have been here. Easy to reach, A1 & A697. No issues on approach road. Friendly wardens. Large pitches. Quiet site. Wildlife in abundance especially in the nature reserve next door. Twenty miles to the coast. Great places to visit. Cragside, Alnwick castle, Seahouses etc.

Relaxing site

Had a really relaxing quiet stay. We wanted to visit Alnwick castle with our motorhome and were concerned whether there were sufficient parking areas without height and length restrictions. So mentioned this to the reception warden and she very kindly telephoned the castle. Even with other residents coming into reception, nothing was too much trouble and she handled our enquiry very well. The site has a really nice dog walk with pleasant ponds and a stream. What made the difference was that the pathways were clear of any dog fouling. Really nice site.
