Peace and quiet
We've just spent a fabulous week at this lovely site. I don't think we've ever stayed at such a peaceful club site, even though it was full. Immaculately kept by the hard working, friendly wardens. This site is perfectly located for visiting the coastline and other areas of interest. Mobile phone signal was ok (O2 & 3) and tv signal was fine for us without connecting to the site booster. Large on-site dog walk and plenty of walking straight from the site. Perfect for cycling as it's on cycle route 68. There is a small Londis at the petrol station just on the main road, also an antique centre and tea room (tea room not open Monday & Tuesday). There is also a lovely tea room/cafe in nearby Ingram which is very dog friendly. No pub within walking distance. The nearest town for shopping we found was Wooler. We will definitely stay here again. I have uploaded a video drive around of the site on Youtube.

One of our favorites.
We really love this site which is why it's our 3rd visit. Even though the site was full throughout our stay, it didn't feel crowded, very peaceful & quiet. Fantastic walks from site and very well placed to visit the coastline. We found as usual helpful friendly staff & spotless facilities. It may not be the best choice of site for families due to the quiet nature & close proximity of deep water, but fantastic for dogs and those like us who want dark skies & quiet evenings. Geese fly over the site early evenings to the local nature reserve, we really enjoyed hearing and seeing them. Thank you all at this site who made our stay so enjoyable.
Excellent Site
After another good weekend the wardens Maggie and Richard keep the site in excellent condition
we will be back in 2 weeks

Nice dark skies
We enjoyed our two nights at this site and really enjoyed looking up at the myriad of stars overhead. Could have done with being able to turn off the site's lighting to make this even better! Cycling to Wooler was easy but if you follow the 68 all the way bear in mind there are some very muddy bits as the route slopes down to crossing points over rivers so this might not suit everyone. Some of the route is shale covered so fairly bumpy, but the route to Linhope Spout was easy enough.

Restful Site
Lovely site. Full when we visited but you wouldn't have guessed it. So peaceful and quiet. No children's play area but that didn't cause a problem when the grandkids paid a visit. Loved the nature reserve next door which was an added bonus. Any last minute essentials can be bought at the Londis shop located at the petrol station just down the road from the site. Not too far to travel for attractions such as Seahouses, Alnwick and Bamburgh Castles. Cragside, a NT property was also an interesting place to visit. Fantastic beach at Bamburgh, lovely clean sand. There isn't anywhere to eat out nearby the site. You have to travel 8 mile to the nearest pub.
Such a peaceful and restful site and I would like to return to it again one day.
Welcoming Site
Needed to find a site not too far from home that's covered our requirements good price value for money, quiet, something to do, friendly people and helpful people running the site. Close to place we could visit rain or shine this place was ideal.
We had a great time and found the site had all we wanted, we will definitely return soon hopefully.
Keep up the good work mine hosts

Worth the visit
Took my grandson to this site first time camping for him and first time to this site really thought it was great. We stayed for two nights wish it had been longer. The toilet/shower block was clean and tidy. Outside was the chalk board that enabled you to put on what animals etc you had seen, also there was a small herb garden that you could help your self to for your cooking I thought that was a great idea well done.
The walks from the site were spot on and the nature reserve next to the site was great, the river walk was ideal. Plenty of areas to have a picnic so peaceful and quiet. the wardens do a fantastic job. will be taking my wife to this site I am sure she will love it, great place. my grandson and I visited Amble on the way home, well worth a visit , there is a market on the quay side each sunday
One of the best sites on the network!
We stayed at this site for three nights earlier in the month and wish we had stayed longer. The site is very well maintained and the facilities are spotless - very friendly and helpful wardens too. The walking from the site is excellent with the local Nature Reserve and walks in the Cheviots. There's lots of wildlife in the area and a chalk board by the facilities block so members can note what has been spotted - watch out for the huge hare! This is a lovely site and we reckon it's one of the best on the network - we will definitely return on our next trip to the north.
