We have been coming to this site for many years and hopefully will continue to do so. The site has recently had some extra pitches added but this means more people can enjoy it.
The new wardens gave us a lovely welcome and always had a cheerful smile throughout our stay.
Facilities were spotless and all COVID measures were adhered to.
On arrival the wardens had reserved a plot for us as our motorhome is a long one. We chose another but felt this was a kind gesture.
Won’t be long before our next stay , hopefully.
Great Site
Great site; we stayed for one night to test out the new Motorhome and really liked the site, quiet, peaceful, lots of kids on the site but in no way noisy. Great walks both on the site and at the adjacent nature reserve. Facilities clean and well managed; very friendly Warden. Site looks to have had a lot of work done recently and future upgrades could be seen in progress. Close to Northumberland Coast and great for visiting Bamburgh, Holy Island, as well as Alnwick Castle for the Harry Potter fans. The petrol station at the end of the road sells LPG gas for anyone needing to refill their Gaslow bottles. We will certainly use this site again.
Good site
Site half empty probably due to not being able to use showers, good clean site, good walking area and can drive to several beaches in 30 mins.Only small gripe wi fi not working on pitch but working near toilets ,informed wardens but still not fixed when we left.
What a wonderful site
On arrival on the 12th April, we were greeted by very friendly wardens. The site has had several improvements and is in the process of getting some super pitches. It is well laid out with a very open feeling that you are in the countryside.
After setting up our caravan, I discovered that our water pump had stopped working. Unable to solve the problem myself I asked the Wardens for advice, they could not have been more helpful. After trying various methods it was discovered that the pump had seized, so they gave me the details of the nearest caravan dealers. The following day a new pump was purchased, we then enjoyed a great weeks stay.
Thanks again to the Wardens.
Perfect break away
Arriving at the site we were greeted by a charming most friendly warden who was extremely helpful. We chose the west end as there were less vans there and the pitch and service point clean and tidy with all covid information necessary to remind you to wash/ sanitise your hands with sanitiser stands near the shower blocks which incidentally were spotless. The best thing about river Breamish was the location as the walks around the area are stunning plus not too far to jump in the car to the coast or bike up the valley. The dog walk around the site was the best I have known and next door is the nature reserve which some may find noisy with geese in abundance, however this nor the odd beep from waster transfer site spoilt our stay and we will definitely return. We are generally CL people but chose this due to the valley location as thought we could encounter wind on the hills in autumn.

Fantastic Site - a hidden gem
Firstly, I cannot believe the two recent negative reviews. I have used this site for years and usually stay on the east part of the site. To say you can hear the council depot several hundred yards away is incredulous - only occasionally when out on the dog walk have I ever heard this. In terms of expecting the CAMC to have sanitisers by the taps is bonkers - just keep sanitiser in your car/motorhome and use it when you touch anything. CAMC have worked so hard to open up their sites safely and should be commended, not criticised. The wardens here are simply the best. Fantastic site, superb location and can't wait for the planned pitch improvements to happen. Thanks CAMC.

No peace and quiet
Lovely site as one would expect with friendly helpful staff. However we were unfortunate having a pitch on the East side of the site. Each weekday, from 7.45 am until about 4pm was the constant repetitive beeping sound of plant reversing at the recycling centre a few hundred yards away. No peace nor quiet until the end of the working day. We will not return.
You can't sanitize your hand with a notice saying wash your hands.
Firstly I want to make it clear the wardens and site are great. But the CMHC have put the members at risk, every CL we have used this year 8 in all have provided sanitizer at EVERY tap and service point, we arrive a a club site to find the only sanitizer is on doors,NOTHING on service points apart from a sign telling you how to keep safe and wash your hands. Over a 100 + people on sit is a high risk Covid 19 , I was under the belief the Club was doing every thing it could to protect it's member but it doesn't seem it's doing the basics.. As Northumberland is almost in lock down It's now time for the club to do it's bit before all club sites get locked down again.
A location that is hard to beat
A wonderful site for walking local paths hills and valleys.
Well drained and well kept pitches. Facilities are spotless too....although we didn't like the unsegregated que system so used our on board facilities.
The only other issue to mention is the site is isolated if you require shopping or leisure attractions you need transportation.....OH....and lots of dogs too....
Great few days
Stayed here for 2 nights really peaceful and great location, we sometimes have our grand children with us but at this we did not, had we done so I think it would have been slightly remote for the kids however for walking fishing sight seeing it was great.
Staff on site were really good very welcoming explaining all the current covid procedures, nothing was too much trouble.
