Great site with good dog walks. Easy drive to Alnwick (castle gardens and town centre). We also use this site to give access to numerous costal places like Bamburgh, Seahouses and many more - approx 30 min drive from the site.
Site wardens are great.
We will be back.
Great new service pitches
This site is up there with the best. We were staying on the new service pitches, which were spacious, flat and plenty of room around as was most of the site. So nice to see more green areas and not feeling like your in a car park. Facilities first class and kept spotless by the wardens as was the rest of the site. Brilliant Wifi and TV signal and a lovely walk next to the river and lakes adjoining the site. Even spotted two Adders around the corner from the site whilst walking to the next village. So many nice places to visit in the area but for us the best was Cragside, it's stunning at this time of year.
Great if you are looking for somewhere very peaceful away from the crowds.
The site is well run and spacious, plenty of green space around most the pitches which should be good for families.
Highlights for us were:
The location beside the River Breamish, there's a lovely natural space beside the river which our dog really enjoyed, sniffing round all the little paths in between banks of wild flowers and woodland. Really good for dog owners but also for families, lots for children to explore and places to play. The river was quite low after a dry spell in June when we visited and in that state it was just the thing for children mucking about. The bird song was amazing.
Monday Fish and Chip van - possibly the best fish in batter that I have had in many years.
The Ingram Cafe. The whole area is great for walking and picnics by the river and Ingram is at the heart of it. The cafe, open every day till 5pm, is just great, really good home baking and an interesting small deli selling local products.
Not so good:
Our only problem is that we like to cycle to visit local places and the site is a bit remote. Somewhere nearer the coast and the Coasts and Castles trail might be more interesting for cyclists with more places of interest within cycling distance.
Super site, despite the weather
Having wanted to visit this part of the country for a while we had 3 nights on this site in October 2020, and the rain did not stop but that did not spoil our stay at this lovely small site. We were met by the most friendly cheerful member of staff in reception who explained everything to us.
The site is easy to find and is well situated for easy access to Bamburgh, Alnwick and the Scottish Borders. In fact we had a trip to our homeland one day in an effort to avoid the rain. It failed!
We fully intend to make a return trip, probably at a different time of year.
First and only visit.
Unfortunately we were greeted by a member of staff who was abrupt to the point of rudness. Not what you expect from from a Caravan and Motorhome site.
Site itself was fine and the facilities were clean.
Good location for cycling and walking.

Peaceful Site
Peaceful site with good and clean facilities. Welcoming staff. Although only a one night stay, we had no complaints at all.
My new favourite site
Really enjoyed our stay at this site, and have altered our main holiday booking to go back.
Peaceful, clean, and great for dog walks.
Faultless!
A Beautiful Tranquil Site
First visit to River Breamish, a wonderful tranquil site. Wardens were helpful and accommodating, especially as we wanted to stay until 12.30 on day of departure. Weather wasn't particularly kind during our stay, so didn't do the Nature Trail as ground was extremly boggy. We did take the MH into Alnwick to visit the castle. Well impressed as it cost £3 for the whole day, and we used the large bays assigned to Coaches and MH's. Two other places worth walking to was Ingrams Cafe and the Bosk Bistro in Branton. The Cafe is about an hours walk, mostly alongside the river and a welcome sight for a cup of tea and cake. As there are no pubs in the vicinity, we thought we'd try the Bistro for a drink, and ended up staying for a meal! Its part of a bigger complex, but well laid out, if a tadge expensive. Two words of note, the bus stop if you wish to explore further afield without taking your MH off site is approx 20m away on the other side of Powburn, and the entrance road onto the site has some very large potholes. Due to the rain and having trouble distinguishing a puddle from a pothole, we hit one, and this caused damage to some shelves in the MH. We would come again, maybe when the weather is set fair
Lovely site
Just back from a two week stay. Site was lovely and well kept, facilities were nice and clean, wardens nice and friendly. Site was well located for visiting many locations. Only recommendation would be not to use pitch 19 - a number of people on the lower side of the site insisted on using it as a short cut to the toilet block instead of the correct path, we had people tripping over the awning guide ropes and even bumping into the caravan after we had taken the awning down. Absolutely no fault of the wardens though. Would definitely go again.
Beautiful and Peaceful Location
What a fantastic find. Located just off the Coldstream Road (A697), the site is set on the edge of the Northumberland National Park. The River Breamish runs adjacent to the site with a nature reserve backing on to the site; perfect for anyone interested in ornithology. We had a number of walks around the nature reserve which provides a gentle meander around the lakes within. Easy access to Alnwick and the Northumberland coast or up towards the Scottish Borders.
Upon arrival, the staff were extremely welcoming and we were able to select our pitch of those available and confirm after setting up.
Due to the remaining COVID restrictions (3-7 May ‘21) the showers were out of bounds; however the toilet blocks were spotlessly clean. As a write, there are site works in progress to provide fully serviced hard standing pitches although there are plenty of service points around the site.
We will definitely return.
NB. A fish and chip van visits the site on a Monday evening providing a very tasty meal.
