Lovely friendly site.

We stayed here for only one night on our way further North. We had a lovely warm welcome by the lady and gent that run the site. They were really nice and great with the kids. The kids got a welcome pack and did a little treasure hunt around the site and got some fantastic prizes. Another reviewer mentioned the loud screeching noise, we did hear it and there was a sign up stating it was from the boilers that are due to be replaced at the end of April 2019. The facilities and site were absolutely immaculate. It really was a lovely place and we will be back again to explore this part of the world in more detail.

Lovely site, but what's that noise?

Lovely site with fabulous facilities. Just home from a 4 night stay. Fabulous part of the country and fabulous site. But, there was a squeaky whistling noise for 80% of the day and night. Nearly drove us crazy. No idea what it is, tried to find out but couldn't, possibly the neighbouring farm or tarmac site. Thankfully we headed home before it became a major annoyance. Lovely site, sadly won't be returning as that noise is awful.

Wonderful Site maintained to the highest standard.

One of our first trips out this season saw us visit this wonderful site again. The wardens are fabulous. The site is well-maintained and the facilities are spotless. The location is great for a peaceful, relaxing break, provided you can tune-out the hundreds of geese that occupy the neighbouring nature reserve through the summer and you do get the odd RAF jet going over at low altitude some days. Dog-walk on the site and in the nature reserve is really good. Huge variety of birds and wildlife exist on site and next door. Going back again several times this season - says it all, really.

Great Stay.. 20th October 2018

We have just had 8 days on this wonderful site, really pleasant walks around the site, lovely antique shops very close by and the surrounding area has fantastic views, The Wardens keep this site clean and always greeting you when they pass on their daily duties, would fully recommend this site. :)

Spotless

Lovely visit at the end of the season. Absolutely spotless facilities, somsensible that as we were 35 mins early we were allowed to find a pitch and then come andmsay where .... often wondered when plenty of empty spaces, this is notmpossiblemon most sites? Plenty of lovely walks in the area, although it’s anshame there’s no local bar/restaurant in the immediate area, having said that it’s well worth a visit

One of the most friendly and helpful warden couples on the network

I've stayed here twice this year - August and last weekend. It has been a favourite site since 2010. It is perfect for running and cycling from. It is on the edge of the National Park and not too far from the coast either. But the purpose of this review is to say how the wardens are one of the most friendly and helpful warden couples on the CAMC network. A good enough reason to visit in itself.

Very friendly

Just spent a couple of days at this spotless, peaceful site. Nicely laid out and great that there’s no barrier and we were actually trusted to go and find a pitch and come back to say where ... even though we were 40 mins early and the lovely warden was dealing with something on site! Well done, so much more sensible than waiting to go to a pitch at exactly the right time, even when there’s lots of empty spaces just waiting to be had. The toilet block is immaculate and there’s some lovely walking in the area.

River Breamish. A best kept secret!

This was our first visit and we haven't stopped talking about it since. This probably means we will never get a pitch again! It is a lovely spacious Club Site with IMMACULATE up to date toilet block all managed by two superb wardens, Maggie and Richard Walker. This was September and sadly we had struggled with the weather on the west coast of Scotland and retreated to Edinburgh (never get enough of that city and another good club site). We then decided to break our journey home to Derbyshire with a stop in Northumbria. Hence River Breamish. Thank you Maggie for your assistance in sorting out a booking that suited our needs. We did have a 48 hour period of strong winds here, waking up to lots of debris and were amazed at the speed with which the team cleared up the whole site. Plenty of places to visit both on the coast and inland. Alnwick must do's include Barter Books, huge range and Thai Vibe, great food. Cragside, National Trust, is a must - fascinating house. The area is full of good walks including a very nice stroll around a lake reserve immediately adjacent to the site. WE WILL BE RETURNING!

Beautiful site!

We love this site. It is well run and looked after by friendly wardens who obviously take pride in their job. It is local to us so we know the area really well and would recommend it to visitors as a base for exploring the beautiful Northumbrian coast and country. The site is picturesque and peaceful with good facilities, what’s not to like. We’ve even managed to squeeze in another visit before the end of the season.

Fabulous - as always

Fabulous. Great wardens. Great for dogs. Great for peace and quiet. Visit many times each year and just love it. No play area which is great as it attracts families who wish to show their children the great outdoors.
