First time on this lovely caravan site. Warden was very nice . Our pitch was hard standing and very roomy. We took our dog for the first time and she was very good. The site is on a nature reserve which was an added bonus for dog walking . The site is very neat and tidy. Didn't use the facilities as we just use our own . We went walking to The Cheviot Hills and the scenery was amazing , then on to Linhope Spout waterfall which was also amazing. After that we went to Bamburgh Castle and had a lovely walk on the beautiful seafront. Not much in the way of Pubs and restaurants for dogs, but we did find one in Alnwick 11 miles away called The Black Sawn which did lovely food and very dog friendly. Nina (dog) enjoyed her first caravan trip and will be coming again. A very enjoyable stay and would definitely return.
9 fantastic nights
What a fantastic site. The wardens are so welcoming and keep the site beautiful, keep up the good work. We will definitely be back to this beautiful area. We did book an extra night and would have stated another week if work didn't get in the way. So much to do and see but be aware if you want to bike from the site everywhere is up and up and up hill, exhausting but rewarding.
spoilt by thoughtless campers
not much more to add to what other reviewers have said, other than there is a field set aside for ball games complete with football posts, only downside was two campers who thought it would be great to sit swilling wine and lager, getting louder and louder as the night progressed, i dont have a problem with wine women and song (or men for the politically correct) but surely it would have been better to sit in the van rather than the awning not the only person to pass comment several other campers commented aswell. all in all not a bad site
Spacey !
A very enjoyable site. Good access from A679. The best spaced out C&MC site we have been on so far. Even cubicles in toilet block are large, and also the largest we have encountered so far. Local walks around nature reserve good and unspoilt. Within easy driving distance of several places to visit, as previous reviewers have mentioned.. No children's play area on site, but a good one in nearby Powburn, village about 10 minutes walk away. Fish and Chip van on site at least once a week.
First but not Last
Hi, everyone, we cannot recommend this site enough.
It was our first trip here but not our last (hence the ingenious title of this review).
We were greeted by a relief warden who had only been there himself for a couple of days but we were impressed by his knowledge and his manner, could not be more welcoming.
The people, as always were friendly and we loved the location as it is a great base to explore the area. By the way, recommend a trip to holy island, great experience.
The only downside is that we wanted to stay on a little longer but it was booked up, our fault but it does give us an excuse to return, which we will.
Excellent site
Probably the best Caravan Club site we have stayed on, in a great location with excellent walks on site and adjacent to a nature reserve. The site is well maintained and facilities kept spotless.

Speechless
Fantastic site, helpful wardens, lovely layout of large pitches. I thought it was common courtesy to arrive, queue and go into the site in turn. Not Mr twin axle, impatient old man. Not only does he quickly go in front of my husband into reception, he then insists on squeezing past our car and caravan outside reception to get onto the site! There are enough pitches for us all. I also thought it was common courtesy not to walk through people’s piches. I lost count of how many cut past our caravan rather than walk an extra 10 metres to access the dog walk. Other than these irritations, we have had a lovely break in this very quiet site.

Nicely set out site
Really liked the way this site is set out - see plan. Some club sites are starting to look like car parks! Nice large pitches with plenty of greenery around. The facilities were very good. The dog walk/nature walk which takes you down to the river, was lovely.. it is about 10 miles from Alnwick. It would have been perfect if it had been nearer and we could have walked but you need a car to get about from this site. That said if you are seasoned walkers there are a good few walks from the site. The only problem we had was inconsiderate loud tv and music but only happened a couple of times. There was also a quite loud high pitched noise coming from around the washrooms. We were on pitch 4.

Superbly run site
We have just returned home from a week at this fantastic site. Due to not being able to get away from work as early as had been hoped on our arrival day, we ended up arriving a few hours later than planned and the site office was actually closed for the day when we arrived - however, we were greeted by very friendly and helpful wardens as we pulled up outside the office and they opened the office for us to book in.
Nothing was too much trouble and the wardens run the site superbly, well looked after pitches, grass cut regularly and the shower/facilities block was always kept immaculate. They were always very pleasant, helpful and cheery when we met them on site during our stay.
The site is well laid out in smaller pitching areas, with up to about 10-15 pitches in each area - separated by trees and shrubs. Adjacent to the site is the River Breamish and nature area and dog walk, again very nicely laid out.
The coast is only about 20 minutes drive from the site, and we really liked Alnmouth, Embleton, Beadnell, Amble, Craster and Bamburgh Castle - all great locations if you have a young dog with lots of energy, as we have! Closer to the site is Ingram, which has some stunning scenery adjacent.
All in all, a great, well run site with some great beaches and villages a short drive away! We hope to return sometime!
