Full Marks for this Site
On arrival we had a warm welcome from the pleasant lady warden.
We had hoped to stay three nights at River Breamish but unfortunately we had not been able to secure the Saturday night when we booked online. On arrival the warden said she would let us know if Sat became available, which it did on the evening before we left. We were very happy to stay another night.
The wardens are new to the site, we understand and it is evident they are keen to make their own mark on this site by working hard and putting in the extra mile for all the lucky members who visit.
This site is well laid out with a good selection of pitches. The site is generally open and sunny but with enough trees and hedges between areas to make it feel uncrowded. There are plenty of pitches with surrounding grassy areas for small children to play near enough to be monitored by parents. There are also larger areas, with grass and space for older children to cycle and play games safely.
The nature walks on site near the river are lovely, and there is a very nice nature reserve based around two disused gravel pits that is accessed from just outside the site entrance.
The site facilities are very good, clean and well maintained. The toilet block is excellent, very clean, with plenty of showers.
There is a regular bus service to Alnwick that stops outside the petrol station about a 15min walk from site. The bus ride takes you through pleasant countryside via a couple of local villages and takes about 20min to the centre of Alnwick.
All in all it is a very comfortable, relaxing and pleasant site.
Lovely site
Just came back from here what a good weekend , big thanks to the wardens see you soon

Last Minute Booking
Wanted a week away at the last minute, so after reviewing the forecast up North ( we hail from Lancashire) came out as maybe the best , and as we have never visited Northumberland with our van, we decided only the day before we left on River Breamish, what a great decision, this site is lovely, so peaceful, tidy clean and warm. The shower block seemed so spacious compared to some. Didn't have anything to do with the wardens, which proves they are doing an excellent job. Handy for visiting many places, Coast or Fells. Loved Cragside too. Lots of wild life, although the warnings about the Adders were a bit worrying especially with having a dog! I am sure we will visit this site again, and yes for once the weather forecast was correct, cool some days but sunny, and no rain!
A delightful site
This was our first vist to this delightful site. It is very well maintained and the facilities are warm and very clean (makes all the diference when they're this good). It is in a fabulous position surrounded by trees. It is close to both the coast and the National Park and also the National Trusts Cragside (our main reason for staying) We had a lovely few days and will definitley return. We're new to caravaning and this is only our second trip, so far both sites have been great, lets hope all future ones will be as good. Mark and Chris
first visit, but not our last!
We have just returned from the most relaxing 4 nights stay at River Breamish. I can't think why we've never been before. An area of natural beauty, the walks from the site are amazing. Even the dog walk and nature reserve on site is amazing.
Possibly one of the cleanest sites we've ever been on, the wardens are brilliant! Friendly, approachable, hard working (see the boxes they built for the nature trail quiz) Nothing seems too much for them.
To quote the terminator...I'll be back!!!!!

Fabulous Break on a Favourite SIte
This site is fairly local for us and we use it quite often. It is less than an hour's tow from Newcastle yet completely in the rolling Northumberland countryside. Ideal if you have dogs or for bird-watching, walking or exploring wider Northumberland - or even just relaxing in the peace of the area. The site is very-well kept and the wardens were all lovely. Despite very wet weather and a very fast-flowing river due to the rain, this did not spoil the break at all. Will be back again and again.

Great place for active families
Had a lovely holiday here, the staff are very welcoming and friendly. All the facilities are clean and cared for and we were here Easter week when the site was full. Lots of information about the immediate site and the local area and so much more to the site than just a caravan park, Fabulous location with easy access to Alnwick and the beautiful NE coast as well as the Cheviots. Look forward to going again.

Lovely site, great wardens, shame about the weather!!
This was our first family trip in our motorhome.
The site is spotless, The wardens very friendly and the location great. It was just a shame the British weather decided to provide bank holiday sleet....
We used the site as a base to head for Alnwick and on to Berwick. In more pleasant weather we will return and look at the site nature walks and go biking
