Excellent site

The long weekend we spent here included Bonfire Night, but although we could here fireworks we weren't disturbed by them. This was our second time here & we thoroughly enjoy the peace & quiet. The site is very well maintained with friendly, helpful wardens. The facilities are kept clean & warm &'we love the piped music!! We will definitely return next year. Thank You

Weekend break

First time visit, recommended by a caravan forum, lovely and quiet, great for dog walking, will definitely be visiting again, our only quibble, if you can call it that, is the dog bin was hidden behind the entrance sign and not visible, also on the dog walks behind the site there appeared to be no dog bins at all, which meant there were rows of doggy bags hanging from the trees which was a shame and unsightly,  we appreciate that the cc can't be held responsible for this, but it did detract from the walk, having to walk a fair distance carrying poopy bags both ways until we got back to the site,  but all in all we had a great weekend

Halloween break

Five night stay at Poolsbrook as final trip out this year and included Halloween. Quite a few units made the effort which was nice to see and a spectacular local fireworks display on the Saturday night that could be watched from comfort of caravan!! Been once before to Poolsbrook and standards remain high thanks to wardens. Previous review mentions no dog walk on site but as stated the immediate surrounding area is spoilt for choice in walks in every direction including adjacent country park and around lake. Didn't experience any issues with noise / boy racers and my advice if visiting is to come in from M1 end and you'll avoid the industrial approach to the site (and the approach road is caravan / motorhome friendly). See you next year.

What's not to like?

Usual CC standards throughout, from pitches to showerblocks. Next to three fishing lakes and the trans peninsula trail, so loads of dog walking and cycling! Biggest lake has cafe and children's adventure playground all within easy walking distance without causing noise on site. Close to M1 making it a good stopover as well as holiday destination - loved it!

Wonderful well kept site

We have just returned from our first visit to this site and we will definitely be returning. The site has to be one of the best club sites we have been on. Well laid out, kept in immaculate condition with modem clean facilities. The warden were really friendly and helpful and worked non stop to keep the site looking good. Yes you have to pass a few industrial units before entering Poolsbrook Country Park but they did not cause any problems or noise at all. The country park is great with a Café and lots of walks etc. Really looking forward to our next visit.

Well kept site but wouldn't return!

We arrived at the site to a lovely welcome from the wardens. The site was clean, tidy and well kept. Previous reviews have mentioned the approach being a bit industrial but that is an understatement. We were extremely disappointed in the surrounding area and the noise from the joy riders at 2.00 am around the industrial part and the road leading to the campsite was awful! The country park was ok and your dogs can be walked near to the site but no specific dog walk area is on site. We went to eat at the Rose and Crown in a nearby (10mins drive) village and that was also ok. I am never disappointed in the standard of caravan club sites and Poolsbrook is no exception. However if you are wanting to visit the Peak District or the Darley Dales there are much nicer areas to stay in.

Well done!

Another fantastic stay at Poolsbrook- I never want to leave!! The wardens as other reviewers have stated are just the BEST!! They are what makes us want to keep returning time and time again. Many Thanks to them- their hard work and friendly attitude is very much appreciated. Other than the brilliant way the site is maintained there is soooo much to do with cycle tracks on the doorstep, walks, coffee overlooking the lake and places to visit all within easy reach. Can't wait for our next visit.
