Nice place to stay

Stayed here for 2 nights as we collected our caravan from dealership close by. Due to weather we didn't get to explore the country park which is located next door to site. Wardens were very helpful and site was well maintained.

poolsbrook cc site

Just returned from a fab weekend at this lovely site, on arrival met by friendly helpful wardens , the site itself is spotless pitches are huge and well maintained, the showers/toilet/laundry/washing up facilities were immaculate to say the least, and so warm which was great on a frosty morning. The lakes were a pleasure to stroll round in the winter sunshine the only downside was having to come home !!!! We will definitely be returningto   poolsbrook as its only 50 mins from home so a big thank you to the caravan club and the wardens well done .

Short January break

Friendly welcome and we enjoyed our short break on this well laid out quiet site.  The road diversion from the M1 had been helpfully signed by the caravan club, but the signs may need checking after strong winds. Some recycling rubbish around the perimeter (near pitch 3) which I removed most but some was in the water logged area.  The exit from the site is tight when approaching the barrier on the outer roadway with a caravan.  Our 'van is not the longest at 7.25m and it only just made it without hitting the curb (many hadn't made it from evidence on the curb) - shame on the layout designers for such a restriction.  It needs some extra turning space before the barrier. Otherwise a lovely site.

Access all areas

We arrived to a friendly welcome, and chose our pitch. Lovely well laid out site, sitting up above the Poolsbrook Country park. Walks directly onto the Country Park,Trans Pennine way, and many walking/cycle trails from the site itself. A 15 min walk into Stavely and you've got a Morrisons. Spotless facilities in a lovely amenities block. We had a night of gales but were quite sheltered at the back of the site. Would return without hesitation.

New Year Celebrations

We would like to place on record our thanks and appreciation for the organisation of New Year celebrations at Poolsbrook - the food, drink and company was excellent, especially the champagne supplied to welcome the New Year. This created a particularly festive occasion and the opportunity of joining with our fellow colleagues on site. The winter wonderland of a snow covered site, freezing temperatures all enhanced the magic of Christmas. A big 'thank you' to the Caravan Club wardens for going the extra mile and making our stay so enjoyable. Such occasions should be arranged on other sites throughout the year where members of the club staying at the site have the opportunity of meeting in a social environment.

2nd Great New Year

For the second year running we had a great new year on this site ,the snow made it even better than last year . The wardens put on a lovely new year celebration and deserve high praise for their efforts. Frozen service points were easily compensated for and did not spoil our enjoyment. The only minor criticism was the state some of our fellow campers left the toilets in, not a reflection on the wardens who did their jobs correctly, Toilet brushes are provided so come on fellow members use them !!

Winter wonderland

Just spent new years eve on site. Lots of snow and freezing pipes. Great site good for off road cycling. Wardens really helpful and friendly. Lots of dog walking. Reasonably quiet some car noise at night. Good access from M1. Although there is a diversion in place at the moment which looks like it could be there for a while. Chatsworth house about 29mins away and Bosworth castle Chesterfield is also worth a visit. The facilities are excellent. We will be back
