Country Park Peace
We stayed here for 2 nights in March for a stopover on our way further north. What a delightful place! It is very easy to find just 2 mins off of the M1. Despite its proximity to the motorway it is very peaceful and gives the feeling of being in the middle of the countryside. The wardens were welcoming and very helpful. The facilities were exceptional in size and cleanliness. The pitch was large and we had chosen a fully serviced pitched so everything was to hand. The Country Park is adjacent to the site and is absolutely wonderful. We walked around the large lake watching the ducks and geese before stopping at the little café for coffee and cake. There is a play park in the country park for children and lots of space for both dogs and children to run around!
Amazing site
We are new to caravaning. And this site was our very first time out in the caravan, we only stayed one night, we arrived early and the lady on reception was extremely friendly and helpful, the site is lovely, very peaceful and quiet, the toilet block were absolutely spotless, amazing site and we will definitely be back for another visit.
First trip of year
First trip out this year with caravan, didn't want to go far so picked poolsbrook. Really glad we did, great site, wardens are helpful and friendly, really well kept site. If you like walking or biking i would definitely recommend it.

Poolsbrook is becoming increasingly popular though it is in an unlikely location. The Country Park is great for walking cyling etc with a visitors centre/cafe lake and kids play area. The Penine Way runs alongside the site. Stavely itself is not much to shout about but from here you can be in the Peak District in less than 30 minutes. Travel eastwards and Clumber park in the Dukeries is only about 20 minutes away. Nearby is Ringwood Hall where you can eat and it has an excellent spa and gym. A couple of miles up the road, the other side of Junction 30 M1 is the village of Barlborough with several pubs serving food.
The site is first class, with a really good layout and a central shower block that is very good. We stayed on a fully serviced pitch (our first time using serviced facilities) and it is worth the extra cost. The pitches arer a good size and very level.
Great site and good location
The site is just off the M1, but unless the wind blows from the wrong direction, it is very quiet. It is very easy to find and is great as a stay or just a stop over.
The nearby lake in the country park has well maintained paths for the walker, biker, fisherman or dog owner. There is a large children's play area and a cafe overlooking the lake. There is a good canal walk from nearby Staveley (where there is a Morrisons supermarket) to Chesterfield (about a 9 mile round trip), although Chesterfield is not very pedestrian (or car) friendly. There is a cafe along the walk and one at the end (plus a Tesco Extra and a Sainsbury store). A shortish drive takes you to Chatsworth House. You can wander the grounds freely and the lovely estate village of Edensor. You could even visit the nice tea rooms (also serve light meals) in the village to help revive you.
The site is well maintained and the pitches are generous. The site looks relatively new, but it has plenty of greenery, so doesn't look bare. It has little if any traces of its industrial past. Like most Club sites it is immaculately kept and the staff are excellent.
Simple the best.
Lovely site clean and well kept, The best we have stayed on, all our club sites are looked after but the facilities here we 100% spot on.
But the thing we appreciated most was the wardens, so friendly and helpful the best we have come across. We loved our stay and will be back again soon.
One of the best C & MH Club sites
This is one of the best club sites that I have stayed at.
Ideally located close to Sheffield, the Peak District Nation Park and not too far away from Donington Park race circuit which I visited last Thursday. It's easy to find and very close to the M1 (but not too close as I could not hear the any traffic noise). The Country Park was a bonus - ideal for couples, families, walking the dog. An excellent Morrisons supermarket is about a mile away.
The site is well laid out with excellent pitches. Friendly staff. The shower/toilet block was spotless. I could ask for nothing more from this site. We will return.
Two nights at Poolsbrook
This was our first visit ti a full site, we usually stay at CL sites - we were not disappointed.
The place was immaculate.
Great pitches with plenty of room for the car / van / awning.
The staff were very friendly, helpful and willing to chat about the local area.
Although the site is only just off the motorway, its far enough away from the motorway that you don't hear it.
The facilities are superbly finished and clean - the piped in music was a bonus.
The country park is only a stones throw away; and with the trans pennine way clipping the edge of the site, there is more than enough walking to be done and if thats not enough, the dales are only a 20 minute drive away.
