As you would expect, Poolsbrook is beautifully presented by very friendly staff. The Site is modern, clean and very well cared for. It is situated within an urban landscape and so it cannot hope to compete with the honey pot sites. I can understand that it may disappoint some visitors. The country park is fine for a stroll, but is not very expansive. The Trans Pennine Trail however is accessed from the front gate! This is a great resource for both walking and especially cycling. We were really glad that we booked. I think I have developed a liking for Marmite!
Christmas 2018
Stayed over Christmas 2018. Site excellent, easy access, good facilities and pleasant walks.
Downside, every Night from 2200hours, boy races donuting on local country park till around midnight, very noisy.
Easy Access
Stopped for 5 nights in December for visiting family in the Sheffield area. Have been here before so knew what to expect. Access up to and onto the site is excellent. The staff and facilities are all to the highest club standards. The area surrounding the site is perfect for dog walking and fine even in the cold and wet weather. We did note that the club wifi was amongst the best we have encountered and there was good mobile and TV via the hookup posts. We will no doubt be regular visitors here.
Peace & quiet
Our second visit to this site this year. It’s perfect if you want to relax in clean, peaceful surroundings. The country park is lovely to walk round. The staff at the site are friendly and helpful, the site is clean and tidy.
We will be coming back next year
Fabulous
We received a smile and 'welcome' as we walked into the reception which was really appreciated after a long drive. It was a flying 1 night stopover, but made very comfortable on a well laid out service pitch and use of pristine and warm shower and wash room facilities.
Good site especially for a stop over.
Stayed here for 4 nights whilst visiting family further south. A very nice site with great facilities and located just off M1 and right beside the Tans Pennine Trail, so great walking.
We used the fly serviced pitch, which as novice caravaners we found made life so much easier with no requirement to refill water barrels of dispose of grey waste.
We were a little disappointed with the help from the lone member of staff we dealt with when asking for how to get to the Chesterfield Canal. We were directed to the information room, when all the perps had to say was go out the gate and turn right along the footpath beside the gate!!
However we will no doubt be back again a very nice place to stay.
The First
Well what can we say except this is the FIRST review we have made in 3 years of being novice caravanners!!
Whilst normally we stay on Adult Only CL sites we found ourselves at this family site which we had only booked the day before.
After being stuck on the motorway for an hour we were given an extremely warm welcome by Julie & Andrew who explained all we needed to know about the site and equally as important what this part of Derbyshire had to offer.
The cleanliness of this site and happy, friendly faces of our hosts made this short stay one which really left us with a warm glow on a chilly October visit.
Really a site you must stay at if you want to explore this historic part
of Derbyshire.

Everything I want and more
Spent three nights, 19-22 October 2018 at Poolsbrook, my fourth time at this site.
This time I had a serviced pitch, only because all the other pitches were booked, but I’m not complaining!
I love everything about this site; handy for the M1, located in a Country Park, the excellent Trans Pennine Trail on its’ doorstep, spacious pitches, spotlessly clean facilities, friendly wardens, no playground so few children....perfect.
Cycled along the trail all the way to the Rother Valley Country Park, had a gin by the water skiing lake, and cycled back. Other cycle trails, woods and paths going off in all directions.
And the icing on the cake..? The weather, for mid October it was wonderful, sunny and mild.
Fabulous Site
Just returned from our second visit to this fantastic site. This has to be one of the best kept club sites we have been to. The wardens and their assistants are excellent, hardworking and friendly. This in the only site we have been on where they clean the drains on each pitch regularly. They keep the roads clear by walking round and sweeping any stones that have come off the pitches back where they belong and the facilities are immaculate. The country park is excellent for walks and for keeping the childen occupied. We will definately be back.
3 night stay
1st time visit but we where very impressed with the whole site & surroundings. The staff where very welcoming & they keep the park immaculate. We will definitely return
