back again

We've stayed several times over the years. With each change of motorhome we have used the site to check all the onboard facilities. We have just returned after testing out our new van. As always the staff were welcoming and helpful and site was well looked after. We particularly liked the new motor vehicle waste point.

back to basics

If you are expecting superb toilet and shower facilities that other sites offer you will be disappointed as they don't exist. Everything else about this site is absolutely perfect

Will it continue?

A favourite site of ours for all the reasons mentioned in other reviews. However I feel a statement from the Club is needed to reassuue members that the site will continue. Work is planned to start on the Sirius Potash Mine (approx 1 mile from site) in April, roadworks are already underway. The planning application and enquiry makes several references to the Club site and in one section in response to the Clubs Presentation, even goes so far as to suggest the site could close to members and be used to accommodate construction workers! Piling operations last year provided a repetitive thump during the day and I am in doubt construcion work proper will shatter the peace quiet and ambience of this lovely site.

Just the ticket

Absolutely smashing site, my brother Ed and I had a great break, walking (and enjoying a few beers). Close to Whitby, Robin Hood Bay and a host of other interesting places to visit. Wardens were excellent, helpful but left you to it, choose your own pitch etc.. not too 'fussy' - which is exactly what you want. Will definitely return

Peaceful, tranquil and friendly site

We have just returned from 6 nights stay here at the North Yorkshire Moores site and loved every minute.  As soon as we arrived we were met by the lovely wardens who were very attentive in finding us the pitch right for us. We stayed on pitch 15 and were allowed to forward face to make the most of the beautiful views and woodland wildlife.  The site's location is spot on with so much to see and do in the local area with Whitby and Robin Hoods bay a stones throw away.  This site is a must for peace and quiet and for getting away from it all. It must be said that there is no mobile service with EE and no WIFI on the site which did not bother us.  Summarise - Beautiful Mooreland location with activity and scenery plentiful.

A very pleasant stay

Just spent 6 nights at this lovely site, well hidden away but a short drive to the park and ride (also suitable for motorhomes) at Whitby. A super welcome by the wardens who look after the site brilliantly. Select your pitch carefully if you wish to use a dish to receive TV. Great bird life.

Relaxation and peace

We have stayed at this beautiful site on a number of occasions and will continue to do so. Its easily accessible within easy reach of Whitby and the moors. There are basic facilities with WiFi connection non existent and a poor mobile phone signal yet like myself many others find this an advantage and a great help for an undisturbed visit. The site is well maintained and cleaned by Joy and Kingsley, the friendly wardens, who are always at hand should there be a problem.

Lovely, peaceful site

Beautiful site on top of N Yorkshire moors next to the Foss waterfalls and about 5 miles from Whitby. It has no shower or toilet facilities but is more than compensated for by the peaceful atmosphere and lovely views. Wardens are extremely pleasant and helpful
