Delightful Stay at Moreton

We have been to Moreton- in- Marsh site many times, it will always be a favourite and we will go back. Fantastic location handy for many other Cotswold destinations. The wardens are very helpful, welcoming and hard working. very clean facilities. it is a peaceful site but depending where you pitch you may hear road noise, doesn't bother us but others may find it an intrusion. Good transport links for those with campers. Plenty of restaurants in Moreton itself which is an easy short walk away or in the surrounding area. The fish and chip van and pizza oven visit on various nights for those who don't want out go out or cook. Added bonus;the site is open all year!!

Needs attention

Have been going to this site for a number of years so know where and not where to site caravan. Some pitches are quite small and little room for caravan, awning and car. Although you cannot fault cleanliness of toilet blocks etc, quite a few of the hard standing pitches need attention as they are quite grubby and overdue for weeding. Overall impression is that some money needs to be spent on tidying up the site.

Excellent location.

What a lovely site. We have just spent 6 glorious days there. Firstly, it has fantastic public transport links. The bus stops outside the site entrance for Stratford -upon -Avon, and only a short walk into Moreton and you can get the bus to Bourton and Stow. The train station is only at the far end of the town, next to Budgens supermarket . The site itself is very well kept and although is large, it is very calm and quiet. The pitches are spacious and if you like a grass pitch ,60 is recommended. The wardens were all very helpful and friendly. The showers and toilets blocks looked clean and well kept. There are numerous places to eat in Moreton in Marsh, but on site Pizza and Fish and Chips are availability some evenings. There are plenty of walks around the area, but the walk from the site across the fields to Batsford Arboretum is only 2 miles ,and a lovely cafe at the end of it !  We would certainly recommend this lovely site and will be returning.

11th September 2016,we stayed for a week, love this site stayed quite a few times now. Wardens was lovely, I do agree with another persons review though, about thining the trees a bit,lot of pitches are very covered with trees. Lovely warm bagetts in the reception every morning, put our own bacon in them for breakfast every morning. Smashing. Would stay again.

Not far off one of the best Club sites

having just stayed for the first timeI can why some of the previous reviews have not been very supporting. My wife and I really think that it good get a top star rating again as it is sited in a central position many places of special interest - that what makes it difficult to improve. The main failings in our opinion is mainly in 4 areas, the area on the right of the entrance needs updating by tree thining as some pitches are nearly dark even when the sun shines, gravel on the hardstandings have had their day, noisy pitches near main road and the wifi is poor because of the large tree coverage(it is not worth the cost). I know that it would mean closing off some areas of this very popular site to do the work but I am sure that it would improve the member experience immensely for our club to put in a some improvements, it must be financially possible as it is always full(£20+ per night). Looking forward to returning in the future and being able to give 5 stars.

Most helpful wardens

We have stayed here many times and always enjoy our visits. My wife now suffers from dementia and on a short visit to the reception she got lost and couldn't find her way back to the van. I knew she had got lost and went to find her, but it is such a large site with many cul-de-sacs I was unsuccessful. Luckily she was spotted by a warden and once they knew her name, safely delivered her back to the van. Many thanks to the caring wardens.

Good, but

Spent a week at this site great location for Cheltenham,Stratford,Warwick plus the ten min walk it Moreton itself for a nights entertainment. The only down side of the week was the TV and wifi signal which is poor at Best. I think the club and the wifi company should review this site to put it back to a 5 star rating. The road noise on the pitches that back on to the main road are a little distracting from about 04-30 so look for a pitch into to heart of the site.

Great 1st time to this site

Very nice site, the facilities are super and the wardens were very helpful. Great Fish and Chips. Slight moan regarding the few people who do not understand 5 MPH, it there for a reason. We were next to a speed bump and witnessed one driver manage to get the caravan well off the ground! Short walk into town. We will be back again.
