Great location and good facilities

We stayed for a 3 night break at the beginning of October and overall we had a lovely time but I would like to point out a few things. The site was very busy (understandable, it's clearly popular due to its location) and I asked at reception for a recommendation of a good pitch (not too shaded etc) and was shown the best available ones which we ended up pitching up on. Only after we had put up the awning etc and went to get water we realized that the nearest water and waste point was actually out of order - definitely would have been helpful to know this in advance!! Also the road going past is fairly noisy, thankfully we are not light sleepers so it didn't bother us too much. That said, the site is not recommended for late lie-ins as the grass cutting and the extremely loud path clearing machine start up at 10 every morning. On a plus side, the site had the largest dog walk we have seen on a Club site and the children's playground looked very impressive as well. It's a very short walk to town so location of this site is excellent and the toilet block was nice and clean at all times so credit to the wardens. I would recommend a 3.5 mile walk we did, here is a link with the map and directions: http://www.escapetothecotswolds.org.uk/userfiles/mileswithoutstiles/moreton.pdf

A nice autumn break !

Just spent a week at Moreton - very nice ! If I had a complaint it would simply be that a few less trees around the site would be good, but that said it was a great time of year to visit and see the autumn colours. Pitches are not that big but adequate, and the facilities were spotless at all times, thanks to the hard working, friendly and helpful wardens ! The location is excellent for access to the many surrounding Cotswold villages, and the walk from the site to Batsford Arboretum was well worth the effort - not to be missed at this time of year !!

Only downside was the traffic noise from the main road the other side of the hedge !

NEWBY'S ON TOUR

We are very new to touring as we have only just invested in a motorhome. We stayed at Morton in Marsh for a 3 night stay at the beginning of this month (October). All the staff and all the other people we had dealings with were very helpful offering good advice to us "newby's". The site was excellent. The facilities were very nice and clean and the site is excellently kept. This site is only an hour's drive for us and we are returning again very soon as we have our pitch already booked.

Excellent location

A bit of a rush to arrive in time, having travelled from Yorkshire. Luckily the office was still open and it was nice to be given a choice of pitches. The pitch was quite dark due to trees but no complaints as you can't moan about trees! Great to be able to walk into the village for beers and food. Helpful wardens and cleanliness of shower block exceptional. Fellow campers a bit grumpy but nothing could be done about that!

great trip

Brilliant site. Great location easy access. Great transport network. The only criticism I could say is that the pitches are quite small compared to most Caravan Club Sites with the prices being equally the same. Facilities immaculate as always. Will be returning again for sure.

Grumpy wardens

Arrived at 7.15pm and discovered that a very long aerial extension was needed on the pitches we were on.(we hadn'the needed them on our previous visits). Shame the wardens didn't inform me when I checked in. The office was closed when I went back to buy one. When I went back on Saturday morning I was told I had to pay £15 in cash. The lady shouted to "John" out the back to make up some more cables. Why cash only ? Had to make a special trip to the nearest ATM Why rip people off when it's a necessity because of their poor signal quality ? The male warden was also sarcastic to our friends because they were 10 minutes late leaving !! Some pitches are very cramped and cars have to be parked in front of the vans. Water pressure in the showers very poor. This site appears to have deteriated since our previous visits.

Our second visit to this lovely site...

We love this site! To start I must praise the wardens who found themselves totally up against it when a serious accident occurred at the site entrance on a busy Sunday afternoon all but blocking the road for several hours. They worked their socks off to get the many new arrivals onto the site and clear of reception...well done to you all! The site is wonderfully situated just outside the town and is a handy walk into the centre. Unfortunately, our holiday was spoilt by an unpleasant incident involving a drunken family of locals in one of the pubs, who took exception to our two small, well-behaved dogs and made a vile threat towards one of them. This is of course no detraction of the site itself but unfortunately the experience was so bad we will be unlikely to return. As for the site itself, we were pitched under a very large oak tree so unfortunately, the caravan was made very dark inside and absolutely filthy outside by the time we left but that is something to bear in mind when seeking out your pitch. A very well kept site with brilliant wardens.

Brilliant location, would stay again

My girlfriend and I stayed over this weekend, lady checked us in and was really helpful especially as we were running late for the last checkin having battled Friday traffic getting out of London. The weather was a bit wet over the weekend but that said we had a stroll around the local area where there was a lovely tea room with tea and warm scones. The town had plenty of pubs for grub and local beers. Lovely area, will stay again.

MORETON IN LATE SEPTEMBER

Booking easy and straightforward Pitch ideal and in a quiet part of site Staff very approachable My only niggle, and it is a minor one, is that the toilets were closed between 10 and 12 which meant I had to get up a little earlier than usual (being on holiday) Overall this is a brilliant site to stay at and well lives up to the reputation of Caravan Club sites
