1st time.

Having finally gone over to the dark side and traded in our caravan for a motorhome, we wanted somewhere close to home to try out our new acquisition! This was ideal, just an hours drive away, and easy to find, being located off the main A44. Yes, the pitches are in need of some improvement-decent edging, weeding and enlarging to fit car, van and awning on. However, the toilet blocks are the best we have found over the site network-good sized cubicles for both showers and toilets, spacious general areas and spotlessly clean. The warden we encountered on our short 2 night stay was welcoming, friendly and full of good advice on local amenities. The short walk from the site into Moreton was a pleasure, and there is a lovely selection of independent shops and pubs/restaurants. We can thoroughly recommend the pasties from the bakery! Batsford Arboretum was stunning, too. There is so much to do in this area, we will definitely go back.

Pitches

Having come to this club site following our stay on 2 commercial sites (one of which is affiliated to the Caravan Club) we were disappointed at the very small pitches on which we would have struggled to fit our caravan awning and car. Pitches were also close together with no privacy. Service pitches not available either. Inconvenient to have to pay cash at reception for gas bottle refills and other shop goods when credit cards are accepted for the pitch fees.

A Pleasant Stay

We enjoyed our two night stay on the site. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The facilities were clean and well maintained. The village of Moreton in Marsh was nice to walk around. Batsford Arboretum was amazing at this time of the year and within easy walking distance of the site, the adjacent falconry was excellent as well. The bus to Boughton on the Water was easy to find and accepted our bus passes so we had a very nice day there. We will definitely stay on this site again as there is much more to see and do.

Lots to do...

Excellent location, a week was just not long enough!! The local town has a variety of pubs, restaurants and cafes. Remember a torch, if like us you visit later in the year, the footpath back is not lit by street lights. Fantastic play area for our 11 to 14 year olds.  Local train station within walking distance, trains to Oxford and Worcester. Evesham worth a visit. Just be aware, the road running past the campsite is busy and some noise can be heard from pitches close to the road.  We were ok, but my sister was closer and said it was audible in the night. We will be back soon, a great site.

PITCHES FAR TOO SMALL

We had a lovely long weekend here at the start of the Half Term Week. The site is very clean & in a great location for visiting all the Cotswolds villages. There was just one main negative & that is the size of the pitches. Usually on Site we park car, caravan awning but hardly any pitches gave the opportunity to do so. They were so narrow that the small T@b Caravan & Awning only just fit onto the pitch. The Tow vehicle had to go across the front which spoils the view. Other caravanners we spoke to had the same thoughts. The Dog Walk was one of the best - very secure & lots of room to have a good run. On Friday the Pizza Alfresco is at the Entrance & we can highly recommend the quality & price.

Brilliant site, noisey road

This site is brilliantly located, friendly staff and clean facilities BUT the main road which pitch 71 backs onto is VERY NOISY all night with HGVs passing all through the night which kept me awake most of the night, but my sister who was on another part of the site said the road didn't disturb her.  If you are a light sleeper avoid pitches along the row where pitch 71 is located. I didn't note this in any of the info on the website.

Busy site with good facilities

Stayed 4 nights in mid October and the site was virtually full so advanced booking is recommended year round. Plenty of small Cotswolds Towns and villages within a short drive and Moreton in Marsh itself only 10 mins walk. Facilities to normal CC standards. Some pitches a bit narrow but well spaced out and many in cul-de-sacs so free from regular passing traffic. Nice play areas for the kids and a large, secure dog field.
