Great location

We visited for the weekend of the Melrose Rugby 7s and had a great weekend! The site is across the road from the rugby club so couldn't have been better placed.  The site itself is nice and well laid out - we were on a serviced pitch and only realised after a couple of days that the grey waste point was under the caravan (so we could put away our wastemaster)! Access to the site is easy with nice wide roads on the way in. The site is next to a playground so handy for families.  It's a very short stroll in to Melrose itself which does have little shops, including a Co-op where we got all our supplies. We had a delicious evening meal at Marmions Brasserie and wish we'd discovered it earlier.  We enjoyed strolling around the town and had lovely walks along the riverbank.  The only down side to the site is the traffic noise - but the trade off is easy access so can't really complain!  A great site in a great location!

So convenient for the town

A typically excellent caravan club site with very friendly staff and all of the usual facilities. The town is just around the corner with excellent local shops especially bakers and butchers etc. Melrose Abbey is a short walk away.

Excellent site in splendid location

We have only ever visited Melrose on our way south to England or alternatively on our way north again to the ferry terminal in Aberdeen. We have always been met with courtesy and the facilities are exemplary. We must find the time to spend longer in Melrose and the borders in general. The little town of Melrose is charming. Very much oriented towards visitors. The abbey is impressive and we were much taken by the antique shop near the town centre. There is an exceptional Italian restaurant located in the old railway station. ( The new borders rail link to Edinburgh didn't quite stretch to reopening the line as far as Melrose)

Lovely Pretty Melrose

Visited this site last weekend and it was really lovely. The exceptional friendly wardens were ever so helpful. I couldn't release the screw on my gas bottle (husband had tightened it and I was caravanning with the girls) and the warden was extremely helpful. They have the site spotlessly clean. The toilet facilities are a little dated but again immaculately kept. The little town of Melrose is literally just out of the gate to the right. It has some lovely dog friendly pubs and shops. We booked the Burts Hotel in the bar (which looks anything like a bar as very posh) as we wanted to take our little dog. The food was fabulous. We had ribeye steaks and were done to perfection. All in all a lovely visit to this lovely little site.

Excellent Site

Perfect location, in the heart of a lovely town. Run by very friendly and efficient wardens. Plenty of interesting places nearby, and something for everyone in the very clean and tidy town of Melrose. Will definitely be returning.

Mini Break

Good location for 2 nights part of mini break in the Borders. Very handy for visiting Melrose itself. Pleasant site but facilities getting rather tired. Cannot comment on suitability for families as we are not in that category. Our major criticism is the cost....£28 per night when all the children are still at school, both Scottish & English. Melrose site is right next to a school playing field so my facts are accurate. We knew we were approaching a Bank holiday, but that is just milking your members. Even an affiliated site for our next stop was £3 per night lower than this & a private site was £8 cheaper with just as good facilities.

Excellent Site at Melrose

We have just returned from 13 nights at Melrose Gibson Park. This exceptional site in the heart of the beautiful Melrose is a wonderful place to stay. The site is located opposite the Greenyards rugby ground and is a short walk from the Abbey and the town where there is a good selection of shops and places to eat. The wardens are kind, helpful with exceptional local knowledge. The facilities are fully accessible to wheelchair users although the dog walking area do have a step so I could not enjoy playing with the dog.

One of our favourite C.C sites.

Just returned from a 3 night break at Gibson Park. We come here 3-4 times a year as it ticks all the boxes for us. Leave the car and just relax or walk 5 minutes into Melrose. All the kind of shops, bars and eating places you need. They were in the process of renewing all the play equipment in the childrens playground area just outside the park. Great fun for your children or in our case grandchildren.
