Great site!!

Meathop is a great club site it has spotless toilets and the ground I see kept neat and tidy , the wardens are very friendly, it's a great area to walk in and there are plenty of things to do out and about as you are near Kendal Windermere arnside ambleside ,if your ever in the area it's a must to visit. The only downside at the minute is the road works on the Barrow rd which are a nuisance as I never saw anyone working on them!

Nice site

Nice clean site with some good views from some pitches. Water pressure (hot and cold) a bit low. The water was hot enough, on our visit, in the showers but there was no need to think about adding cold water in the cubicle sinks (referring to a previous review). Road works on the A590 towards Kendal and long term at Newby Bridge (the other way) meant getting around could be a bit of an adventure. Large (by their standards) Co-Op in Grange with Large Morrisons and Asda in Kendal. Sizer Castle (NT) 6.5 miles away good for a visit.

Always reliable

We have been to this site a number now times and it never fails to deliver. It is always clean and tidy and well kept. If I had a small critism it would be that you have to go for site to walk your dog. The road outside the site can be busy and not everybody sticks to the speed limit.Having said that I would visit again provided they have finished the road works on the main Barrow road! A good site in a lovely part of the world

Meathop Fell - Always worth a visit

Hi All I have been going her for more years than I care to remember. It is a lovely site especially since the approach road was totally redone last year by the local authority. It is just a pity what the wifi is next to useless. The strength of the wife signal on the site is good but alas the connection speeds to the internet are very poor and you struggle to get on line when you want. You basically have to keep trying and hope you can at least check your emails. A waste of a months subs for me as I roughly go away each month. It would be better if the Club classed it as non wife or in bold stated very poor. Perhaps they should invest in a satellite link as the local broadband infrastructure is so poor. When you cannot log on the net and then you see all the new branding then I think the Club could probably afford the cost. Otherwise well worth a visit.

Lovely half term break

We stayed during February half term. Weather not brilliant (we did however escape storm Doris!!). Lovely peaceful site despite being busy. Facilities excellent. Good base to explore South Lakes. We heard quite a few complaining about the wifi - it was very slow or non existent - but that is the only thing that the site fell down on. We will return!!

Peace and quiet in superb countryside

I love this site. It is quiet, beautifully laid out and maintained impeccably by the wardens who are knowledgable and helpful. The area gives you all the benefits of the Lake District without the hustle and bustle. Grange over Sands is an old style seaside town. A great base for exploring the area.
