Nice quiet location

Can called this site a month ago due to poor weather conditions so looked forward to this visit. Friendly warden on arrival and I was offered several pitches and pros/cons explained. The pitch chosen had a slight slope but able to level with chocks. As I was setting up another warden passed by offering help if required and some additional blocks if required.  Location was very quiet and tranquil with ducks, rabbits and birds in abundance which entertained our Border terrier.  It is a reasonable 20 min walk to Leyburn by road or a longer route through the fields up from the site but both have lovely views. Facilities are clean although limited but take a torch for after dark as lighting is  only around the toilet block.

Our maiden voygae

We have just come back from our first trip here and we were very impressed. The wardens seemed to go the extra mile, even helping my OH to reverse onto our pitch. The toilet/shower block is a little dated and there is only one block for the campsite but that said I never had to queue for the loo nor the shower and the showers were hot and powerful. They were spotless throughout our stay. My only real negative is the wet areas in the shower cubicles were a little tight. The site itself was lovely and peaceful with an abundance of rabbits and ducks to watch. We are already planning to come back.

Lovely site

We loved this site so querky with its 'balcony' and nooks and crannies. The rabbits and ducks wandering around were just lovely, the site was lovely and tidy with a little bit left for nature just as it should be . The weather wasn't the best it could have been but two hot days just finished everything off nicely. The wardens were more than helpful (even helping us two novices with the awning ! ) very friendly and obviously loved animals. Nearby Hawes was nice to visit and a pub 10 minutes walk but sadly didn't do food, though very welcoming and a good supply of dog biscuits ! Enjoyed our stay very much !

Excellent base for Yorkshire Dales exploration

We are caravanners currently from Devon and stayed here for a week early in May 2016. We found a very private pitch and the facilities were absolutely spotless. The wardens were all extremely friendly and helpful, particularly as on our last day we had some problems hitching up. I would recommend this site to everyone and hope to return sometime in the future. We also had no rain at all!!

Will come again

Our first and definitely not last visit. Lovely site with friendly wardens who keep it immaculately tidy. We were entertained by the ducklings parading the site with their Mama's quacking commands like sergeant majors. Lower Wensleydale could well become one of our favourites.

first but not the last visit

From the moment we arrived we were made to feel welcome. The wardens were helpful in local knowledge and in helping us find a pitch. The site is very clean with a warm shower block with lovely hot water. The site is well located near to lovely walks and attractions. We will definitely return.

Return to Leyburn

We visited over the Bank Holiday. It was our second visit to the site. The Wardens are very helpful and the site is very well kept and clean. Enjoyed the walk to Leyburn and a trip on the Wensleydale Railway. This was very enjoyable and recommended.
