We spent a relaxing week at Lower Wensleydale, watching and feeding ducks and a peacock (a sad looking peacock, I might add), seeing so many rabbits, hearing the steam train pass by, quite
idyllic for us. The wardens were brilliant, even when there was an emergency with the sewage system, cool calm and collected. The toilet block may be due for a refurbishment soon but was kept soooo clean by the wardens even when full over the weekend.
Beautiful area for walking, even in the drizzle, some good cafes and pubs for food in the area. Make sure to try the Yorkshire Tea party at Wensley, Fabulous. A visit to The White Rose Candle workshop is a must, support the small local businesses for buying gifts.
A return visit we shall certainly be making.
