Just got back from this site. It was a great weekend, the wardens were all so very helpful, the site is in a great position, only a mile from Leyburn, a nice easy walk into the local shops/pubs. We have 3 dogs and this is a great site for them, its well positioned for lots of walks.
The site itself is very quiet, even though when we arrived there were not many vacant pitches, so the site was quiet full. The site was spotless and all the facilities well looked after. We will be coming back again soon and would thoroughly recommend it.
Our first outing for 2015, we chose Lower Wensleydale nr Leyburn. What a charming little site nestling in a former quarry. Greeted by friendly & helpful wardens, we felt very welcome. A well positioned site within walking distance of Leyburn where we found nice shops and Tea Rooms and a fantastic pub "Sandpiper Inn " Good walks locally and easy access to the National Park. we will be back.
Generally a very nice site. One of the pitches we looked at was a long way from the electric hook up so we had another pitch, the only other one free. It would have been a problem if this had been the only pitch left. Staff very friendly. Local pub very nice but does not serve food.
Stayed here for 2 nights. Staff and site were good. Lovely scenery and good local amenities. Train runs right past, good for travelling around. Showers need refurb could not get any hot water the first morning so cold shower soon woke me up! Only draw back was irresponsible dog owners, dogs should be on a lead but were allowed to roam freely then did business on someone else's pitch and had to be asked to clean it up. Next door pitch kept bags full of dog dirt piled up outside their caravan cooking in the sun all day, what's that in aid of??? A pity that a few spoil it for everyone else. Apart from that enjoyed the weekend.
We love this site,it's peaceful and relaxing. We first came here last year and really enjoyed it. It was the first place we have been to this year (last week-end) and we will be back to it again before the year is out. It's a great location and not far from Aysgarth Falls and Hawes which we visited
both of.
The staff were really friendly and kept the place clean and tidy. They couldn't do enough for you. All credit to them. Most people moan about access to the site but you are meant to be off the site before 12 noon and you cannot arrive until after 12 noon so meeting people on the road is an unlikely event unless you want to go for a drive in the afternoon. In which case the car driver gives way to the caravan. No hardship there.
