Really enjoyable break

We visited the site for four nights over the Spring Bank Holiday. It's a nice site and easy to reach via the A1. The wardens were particularly helpful and friendly. The site is managed by the club on behalf of the owners and this shows a little in the size of the pitches and distance between them. The showers/toilets are a little dated with no toddler washroom but as usual they are immaculately clean. We've grown to take a playground/dog exercise area for granted on other sites. However all this is reflected in the site fees and the site is well worth a visit. Leyburn is about 20 minutes walk away although, it's a pleasant walk although it's mainly on a busy main road. We visted some really nice pubs (Black Swan Hotel and Sandpiper Inn in particular) and the view from Leyburn Shelf (at the top of town) is well worth a look. The Wensleydale Railway, which runs along the bottom of the site is a great day out.

Great base for that part of the Dales

We stayed over the May Day bank holiday weekend with our 2 children.  Great base for cycling (as long as you like hills!) around Wensleydale, to the Forbidden Corner and various other attractions nearby.  Leyburn is a bit of a walk but our 11 and 8 year olds were fine walking back after a great pub evening meal on one of the evenings.   Showers and toilets immaculate and tropically warm! Friendly team of wardens.   I would certainly recommend it as a great base to explore this part of the Dales.

Lovely site with loads to do.

Our first visit to Lower Wensleydale was in May 2016 was really lovely.  The site is clean, facilities well kept and a the pitches are a bit quirky. The wardens were fantastic, extremely helpful and very knowledgable of the area. We had a lovely walk into Leyburn, great views of the Falls at West Burton and a long hike round to Aysgarth Falls. There is so much to do in the area including the Chocolate Factory (closed Sunday's though) which was just a short walk from the campsite. A great campsite overall and lovely wardens.

Perfect

This site is perfect in every way. Spacious pitches, lots of different levels and nooks and crannies. It was lovely to watch the wildlife from our motorhome. The staff were friendly and helpful. Pleasant walk over the fields into Leyburn. We will definitely be returning

Overall very good

Wardens were extremely helpful and pleasant. Access can be a little hairy but my partner walked ahead to make sure we didn't have to reverse if we met another outfit on the hilly entrance road. Pitches could be quite uneven though.

Peaceful break .

Stay here at least once a year . Wardens were lovely , very pleasant , on the go all the time clearing over growth and maintaing pitches. Facility's spotless . Wild life wonderful as always with the addition of a peacock this year . Weather was against us this visit but that did not stop us enjoying a peaceful break .

Good site

A peaceful site with a selection of different size pitches on varying levels. One side of the caravan park is  very close to the neighbouring static park and doesn't feel as private.  The ground was very wet and mossy and the wardens worked hard to clear puddles and maintain pitches.  It is an easy walk into the lovely town of Leyburn, but not that pleasant as the road is very busy.  The nearby pub 'The Pheasant ' is a superb traditional watering hole.  We warmed ourselves by the open fire and chatted with the friendly landlord .  Lots to do in this part of the world, we will return.

A Real Cracker

This is a lovely site which is nestled in an old quarry 20 minutes walk from Leyburn. There are lots of nooks and crannies to pitch up in which all adds to the quirkiness of the site. Then you've got ducks (and ducklings at this time of year) to watch and go ahhh at. Lovely wardens who are very friendly and helpful and make sure everything is very well looked after. We had a lovely time and will definitely be back.

Great site

We visted last Friday, Saturday and Sunday night and had a fabulous stay, which was made even more enjoyable with the fantastic and friendly nature of the wardens, nothing was too much trouble and all carried out with a smile. The site itself may not be quite as up to date or set out as some others (no internet,  no Vodafone signal for Internet but phone OK,  pitches all shapes and sizes plus many sloping) but we still loved it and wouldn't hesitate to go back. There is a pub (without food) 5 min walk away and Leyburn is a 20 minute walk with plenty of pubs, restaurants and small supermarkets to choose from. A great base to explore the beautiful Yorkshire Dales or to just chill out.
