Great Holiday

We have just returned home after an excellent 12 night stay at this site. We jad a lovely big hardstanding pitch with nice views over the surrounding countryside. The facilities were very modern and always kept clean bu the friendly wardens. We made use of the on site pool which was great very relaxing after a day out. There is plebty to do in the surrounding area Looe is a lovely little town with good shops and lovely pubs I recommend the Jolly Sailor Inn Looes oldest pub it serves great beer and had lots of character. The little harbour at Charlestown is also a must visit very picturesque. Overall a great site in a great location

Nice site poor planning

Arrived at 1pm as stated on site to find no hardstandings available. The grass pitches are very uneven and have a horendous gradient that even with ramps and the jocky as low as it would go we were still walking up hill in the van and the fridge wouldnt work correctly. The layout of the site has no direct paths to the toilet blocks resulting in people walking through your pitch all day to get access. The grass pitches were very close together and offered no privacy. The few hard standings available were like a differnt site. Very large flat and peacful with nice views unfortunately you cannot book these and its first come first serve which I later found out were mostly taken up by motor home owners who were arriving well before mid day. Toilet blocks are lovely and clean and the wardens excellent just a shame whoever designed this site hadnt got a clue. Also the wifi which i paid £10 for the week was totally unusable as others have stated with no signal. Why have people who have a caravan, full size awning and car got to use an uneven cramped grass pitch when several small camper van users without awnings or a vehicle been allowed to have a large hard standing pitch which is much larger then their needs for the same price ? It was almost like two seperate club sites, hardstandings like you expect from the cc and very uneven grass pitches noisy, overlooked and not suitable for caravans like comercial camping site. Not what i expect from joining a cc and previous sites ive used. Shame as the location and wardens are excellent. Come on cc either charge extra for the hard standings and allocate them correctly or dig up that grass and build more

Lovely Friendly Site

Overall a very well kept and friendly site which is only a short distance (40min walk / 10 minute bus ride) from Looe. On site, the facilities we're all at the usual CC standard - very clean and in full working order. We found this site perfect for exploring nearby Looe with the kids and spending time on the beach, crabbing and eating lots of sweet treats - we took a walk down into Looe in the mornings and then caught the bus back late afternoon (regular service).  The Swimming pool was also a real bonus and nice to have a swim in the afternoon after a day out exploring - the water temperature was very comfortable. We'll definitely be back!.

Nice site shame about wifi

This is a very nice site with nice views from the bottom half of the site (hard standings) The pitches were a good size. The toilets blocks are kept clean.  The pool was very nice as the weather was lovely.  The wardens were friendly and could always be seen round the site doing jobs.  The only downsides are that there aren't any good walks from the site and we paid for wifi for a week but we were not able to access this for the whole time we were there.

Loved the site except poor WiFi

Enjoyed our stay regretting we only had one night. The location is great, the staff very friendly and helpful. Large pitches (compared with many, many campsites on the continent),very clean facilities. The one downside: we have paid for 24 h WiFi but got nothing - zero reception late in the evening as well as early in the morning. Very sad!

Great site shameful Wifi

Really enjoying our stay here, the site is great and the wardens are really nice, helpful and friendly, the facilities are good and very clean however, the wifi service is appalling so don't come to this site expecting to get any reception! I have been in touch with CCHQ and air angel who have said they have had several complaints and are going to investigate come on guys it's the 21st century!! Otherwise this would be a five star all the way

DISSAPOINTING SERVICED PITCHES

I having just stayed at this site having booked 4 nights on a serviced pitch. On our arrival there was only one pitch remaining and it soon became apparent why. To be honest this site is lovely and the wardens very friendly, it is perfectly located for the Looe and surrounding areas. However the serviced pitches are predominately sited directly opposite (approx. 20 feet away) the children’s play area and several (including ours) are opposite an enclosed metal caged basketball area which looked more like a cage fighting arena!! Not a very pleasant outlook from these pitches which are the most expensive on the site!! As expected the toilets are spotless and large, but again serviced pitches are faced with a rather steep incline to get access, my wife has walking difficulties so I was faced with driving her to the toilets, this necessitated leaving and re-entering the site due to the one way system, again not very user friendly. My advice is this site is well worth a visit but be prepared if you book a serviced pitch, all others were large and some had great views, but an outlook onto a play area and large metal basketball court was not very welcoming, one thing in our favour was the weather – it was raining most of the time so we weren’t subjected to a full play area or watching a basket-ball match!!!

Lovely Site

Last week we stayed on the Looe site for 8 nights, which is a really lovely place. It is spacious with good views & very friendly & helpful Wardens.  There is a bus stop just close to the entrance of the site. The toilet block facilities are very good & v clean too.  We enjoyed our stay here.

A fabulous site

We stayed at Looe for a week in mid June and while the weather wasn't up to much, the site was first class. On arrival we were greeted by the friendly and helpful wardens who booked us in. We decided on a hard standing pitch near to the lower toilet block which, if we craned our necks, gave us a glimpse of the sea. The hard standing pitches are terraced so you don't feel overlooked. The grass pitches were in good condition but are on sloping ground so would require levelling blocks. Just a word of warning about the hard standing pitches. If you are putting up an awning you will need really strong rock pegs. I bent several of mine! The wardens on this site couldn't have been more helpful and pleasant and they were always out maintaining the pristine appearance of the site. The bus into Looe and Polperro, or Plymouth in the other direction, stops immediately outside the site, so it's really convenient and avoids paying parking charges in town. This was something that really annoyed us during our stay ...... the fact that every time you visit somewhere you have to pay for around a three hour stay even if you only want an hour. End of rant.
