LOVELY AND FRIENDLY SITE

Looe is a lovely site its kept clean and tidy staff are very helpful too.  We booked a service pitch and when we arrived we were told that the service pitches are opposite the play area and were given the option to go on another pitch if this was a problem as we had children we did not see that this was a problem but it could be if you don't have children and want peace and quiet.  Also from the service pitches it is a long way around to get to the toilet block so we used the route that you can see everyone else has used which is up over the bank and over the fence to the left of the playground it would be ideal if some steps could be put there up to the toilet block.  We are planning on returning to this site next year as it is such a lovely site.

The best club site yet

Stayed here during Whitsun Half Term, weather was scorching. The site was outstanding. Little on the sloppy side but with the help of the wardens and some wood we managed to get the van perfectly level. The site is immaculate, relaxed and no wardens pestering you with rules. The swimming pool was to die for at 29 degrees. The park and ball area were exceptional. We didn't see much of my 10 year old as he made lots of friends so was playing all the time - great for relaxing time for us. The area was gorgeous albeit a little too hilly so not really good for biking as a family. There is plenty of beaches but the best was Fistral Bay, Newquay - it was only an hour away so not too far. This site is a really good base point for seeing the best parts of Cornwall but also a really good site for having a lazy day around the pool and van. Had a bad experience on a recent Caravan Club Site, which made us question renewing our membership... after visiting Looe Caravan Club Site we'll definitely renew and we most definitely will be returning next year.

Fantastic

We had a fantastic time at this site.  Excellent facilities and friendly staff.  The site was well maintained.  The bus stop just outside the gate was perfect for a trip into Looe one day and into Plymouth the next.  Would certainly recommend to others and look forward to returning there again.

Fabulous Looe

Stayed in Looe for the first time last weekend and liked it so much we went back this weekend. The site is beautifully laid out, the views are superb - you can even see the sea from some points - the facilities are excellent, the pool was lovely and warm (28 degrees). Location is great as not far to drive down into Looe for the beach and shops. Excellent fish and chips from the Coddy Shack about 1/4 mile down the road. We'll certainly go back.

Visited twice and will go back

its a nice big site, close to Looe and has great facilities.  There is a heated outdoor pool which the kids loved and the play area is one of the best i have seen as there is a ball area with fencing and crazy golf.   we have been twice already and will be going back due to the location and site itself.

Lovely site

Just returned from 5 days @ Looe site. A fantastic site. Best facilities of any CC site we have ever stayed on. Heated pool was @ 29 degrees so just perfect. Tennis court, Crazy Golf and a very good kids play area. Pitches were spotless and most level. Site overall was immaculate The Wardens and all staff were very helpful, polite and could not do enough to help. They even let us get on site @ 9.a,m as we wanted to get there early to avoid traffic. Our only criticism was the to many noisy kids but we did park next to play area and it was half term. No big deal for us as we were with children of our own. The site is very well located just minutes fro Looe with a great bus service picking up from the site gate. One word of warning if you are not that confident towing a caravan or you large a large twin axle like our, some of the roads around Cornwall are very tight. All accessible you just have to take your time.

Perfect

Fantastic site located very close to the pretty seaside town of Looe. Lots of facilities for families and a nice dogwalk area. Is about a 10 to 15 minute drive to Seaton which has a lovely beach that dogs are allowed on all year round. As a dog owner myself I was dissapointed to note that some selfish owners had allowed their dogs to defacate both on and off the dogwalk but hadn't bothered to pick it up. Not the sites fault but dog owners - please be more responsible with your pet as it reflects on all dog owners and it's just not nice ! Rant over - brilliant holiday.

Lovely Site, Super Warden

This is a lovely Site with superbly clean facilities. Pitches are in 2 zones (one was closed for grass cutting during our stay). The Warden went out of his way to assist when we 'lost' our grey water drainage container. It's a nice walk into Looe via the Coastal Path. Plenty of shops, pubs, restaurants in Looe. A good long walk is the Coastal route to Polperro. You can catch a bus back to Site, or to Looe as we did.  Polperro is picture postcard attractive. There are at least 3 pubs in Polperro, I would recommend The Blue Peter. Certainly a Site to be recommended.

Nice Cornish Site

This was our first visit to the Looe site. It was easy to get to being only 15 miles from the Tamar bridge. Road access was quite good for both campervans and caravans. The site is well laid out. Being early in the season pitches were allocated on the bottom half of the site. They had plenty of room and had some great views. There are some steep banks near some of the pitches and they can be a bit slippy if you have to go up and down to access the electric hook-ups. The toilet blocks were good, very clean, warm and were not crowded (I expect that school holidays would mean that they are a lot busier). The wardens were excellent and very helpful. The swimming pool appeared to be having an upgrade so we were not sure what this was like. Looe (nice beach and numerous bakers!!) can be reached by walking but be aware that the walk back is steep. Public transport is available from just outside the site with buses running quite regularly to Looe, Liskeard and Plymouth. The car park in Looe had plenty of space in April and Motor homes could also park there. I would imagine that the car park would be very busy in school holidays. Polperro can be reached by walking, bus or car. Parking is very expensive if you only want a short visit. There is plenty to see within a short drive from the site (beaches, NT sites, fishing and yachting harbours etc.). This was one of the better club sites and we are certainly going back. We liked the site and there are still many places left to visit.
