First time visit

First time at Looe and a lovely site friendly helpful wardens, shower block always cleaned.  Glad we managed to get a hard standing the grass pitches seemed a it tight.  One little moan and this is not directed to the wardens or site it's some of the other dog owners why can't you pick your dogs mess up you had watch where you was walking from leaving the patch to the dog watch on one occasion in the road near the park ot isn't the wardens job to pick it up.

Excellent site, great facilities, very sloping pitches though!

We love this site. It's our favourite, probably because it's our children's favourite (from May half term onwards when the pool is open). Great, clean shower block, fantastic children's play area, tennis courts, mini golf and open air pool. Friendly wardens too. Downsides - mostly grass pitches which are terribly uneven and need great blocks of wood, and the children's play area is down a hill from the rest of the site, so the children are out of site of most parents. To be fair whenever we've been here they've all been in and quiet at a reasonable hour and it's great to see all ages getting on together. A fabulous site for families.

Second stay

This was our second long stay here so we obviously like it! The site is clean and well run with very friendly and helpful wardens and has a great pool, tennis court and mini golf. The immediate surrounding area is a bit limited in terms of places to visit so you have to venture a bit further but overall this is a lovely site. My only negative is that the wardens should be more 'visible' in the evening as the play area can be very lively and noisy and so the site needs a bit more supervision. The serviced pitches, where we were, are right next to the play area and so bear this in mind when choosing your pitch!

Great Site......BUT VERY RUDE

We were just setting up and a very loud and abrupt warden started shouting the odds that we had a second car on the pitch, we explained that we would move car over so we wouldn't obstruct any other pitch. He then started raising his voice again so half the site could hear that we would have to pay for second car and that it was too close to next pitch we explained yet again we will move it close to caravan and that we had already paid for second car this man was clearly in a JOBSWORTH mood. When we had finished setting up both cars was on our pitch and there was 3mts between pitches. One day later a motor home arrived opposite us the family had just finished setting up and low and behold JOBSWORTH arrived shouting that they was 1ft away from white post and had to move there camper over to the post as there had to be 6mts between pitch, I spoke to the family and let them know that the same thing happened to us. On the third day a women warden demanded that my daughter had to leave the toilet block while her daughter was still in the toilet. There was a swimming gala and the two wardens spoke about using a cattle prod to keep the children in order and to speed them up in the pool this must have been a joke but again UNEXCEPTABLE. We are all for rules and regulations but these Wardens were totally OUT OF ORDER, if they don't like to do the job I suggest they leave and let us holiday in peace. If we didn't have these JOBSWORTH wardens spoil our stay this site would have got 5 stars across the board, I do hope no one else get to meet them.

Plenty To Do At Looe

Just spent seven nights with two eldest grandsons (13&14) at this really good site. It has all they required to keep them happy. Yes the grass pitches did seem a bit tight, they are probably the minimum size allowed, they do slope as well, often more than one way, M'homes may need additional blocks, we did but didn't have them so were parked on a bit of a slope for a week. Soon got used to it though. We feel that the site offers all that children need for a good holiday, plus the added bonus of a bus stop at the site entrance to take you to Looe and Polperro one way and across the road to go to Plymouth and beyond, with a regular bus service. Yes the children make a noise, but lets face it, that's what children do when they enjoy themselves, so stop moaning and give them a chance, you were once a child yourselves, or can't you remember? We had a great time, the pool was warm, the crazy golf was fun, the tennis was exhausting and the football/basketball area was used every day by my two energetic grandsons. The week was topped off by us making great friends with a lovely couple and their daughter parked next door. Couldn't ask for more, a big thumbs up from all of us.

First timers to Cornwall

Being new owners to a caravan and never been to Cornwall before we can say we had an amazing time. The site was sloping which was stated in the description but we were lucky to be on a hard standing which was practically level. The grass pitches did seem very close together compared to the site we visited the following week and at times the children were noisy but that is to be expected during summer periods. Shower blocks were spotless and staff were very friendly, would definately visit again.

Breaking down not a problem

This is a lovely sit, although be prepared for some pitches to be sloping. Excellent, very clean facilities and pleasant friendly wardens. Although our two car broke done on the journey to Looe, buses to lovely Looe and Polperro stop right outside the site. If you want to go farther afield, you can also get a bus to Liskeard and change there or go all the way to Plymouth. If you do not like children, however, it can be noisy in the vicinity of the playground area and some children are obviously not taught to be considerate of other people.

Great site for families

We have just returned from a great family holiday here with our 12 year old son. Facilities were excellent and the wardens were very friendly and efficient. The only down side to the site was the proximity of some of the pitches to the children's play area which sometimes stayed noisy after dark. We would definitely use the site again as long as the pitch was away from the play area.

Simply the best

Having just spent 10 nights on this site I can honestly say, this is by far the best CC site I have had the pleasure to stay on and we have been members for 7 years. Having said that my wife and I we fortunate enough to be on the bottom half of the site (hard standing) which was spacious, spotlessly clean and tidy, with all wardens regularly busy doing their bit maintaining the site as a perfect example of the CC standards, showers block is the best I have  come across. It actually made us think about looking into being CC wardens. I am pleased I wasn't on the top half of the site though, as I feel the pitches are so close together that surely it flies in the face of the need to have the required spacing in relation to fire risk. The swimming pool was excellent and the idea of adult only use for a short period on a couple of days each week is very good, finally the dog walk was very well designed and every time we went with our 6 month old pup it was like a doggy heaven, well done to the caravan club and all staff involved in the Looe site, my only problem is future expectations on my future CC site visits around the country. It was also well located and we were able to walk into Looe. If I had one gripe it is the lack of WIFI on certain pitches and perhaps this information could be communicated when booking in, we did come across an A3 plan of wifi 3 days into our visit and it did not spoil our stay in any way as we just walked to the little summer house and had our wifi fix when we needed it.
