We love it here!

We are a family of 5, 2 adults and 3 boisterous boys. We love this site. There is a lovely park for the kids to meet and make friends, along with golf and tennis. The swimming pool is lovely. The facilities are clean and the staff are friendly. My boys are not quiet (are any?) but they are respectful, and I have never felt that we are seen as a pain, which can happen on other sites. I would definitely say this site is family friendly. It is also a short drive away from an amazing chip shop called the Coddy Shack, Looe itself (there's a bus stop at the site entrance), various beaches. The boys loved crab fishing in Looe. If you haven't stayed at this site you are missing out!

Great time at Looe

I have been visiting this site since the early 1970's when it was known as Dovers (as a child!!) and we have been back to Looe every year since. When I finally joined the caravanning world we joined the caravan club solely to get onto this site. We have had some issues with the previous warden teams but the last 2 years have been fantastic. The site is immaculate and the facilities are outstanding the warden team is a proper team. 2 issues I have brought up consistently 1. Anyone riding bikes should wear a helmet… no helmet no bike (I have had to attend to at least 1 serious injury every year……) there is no reason that this cannot be enforced. 2. The wifi is atrocious…. whilst this has helped with life-work balance it is extremely frustrating if there are important emails etc that need to be dealt with especially for those self employed or in my case the NHS My friends and family all agree that this is the best site in the country

Great site!

Return visit to Looe site. Great facilities as usual, albeit we don't have kids it seems great for families, swimming pool, crazy golf, tennis all on site. We managed to find a cul de sac which was a lot quieter than the main part of the site which suited us and was scooter free! The grassed pitches looked way too busy / close together for our liking so we were pleased to be on hardstanding ( although I'm not sure you can guarantee this when booking). The location is good for looe but the road is busy. We did a lovely cycle to Fowey but the surrounding roads are not great for inexperienced cyclists or children (busy, fast traffic and hilly). The wardens were great and passed on some good local knowledge re whitesand bay and parking for our mh. BUT beware as we were walking back to the big lay-by near the fort, there were parking wardens issuing tickets to motorists who hard park mostly on the grass but had one or two wheels on the road (presumably for obstructing to road as it is a bus route?).

What a marvellous camp-site

We have recently returned from a 10 night stay in a wonderful camp-site. Refreshed and relaxed, leaving a piece of our hearts in Cornwall. The weather God smiled down on us - at times it felt like being abroad. The camp site has 8 wardens, all helpful and friendly, the kids thought the swimming pool brilliant, 2 large clean modern shower blocks served the 200+ pitches admirably. What a great base to discover Cornwall, Looe being less than 2 miles away. We will return one day.

Back again!

Our second visit to the site and very happy to be back.  Very clean and well maintained site. Fabulous pool and pool area for kids to play.  Staff were very welcoming. I took my two sons and two of their friends. The site offered plenty to keep them all occupied.  A family site, it is inevitable there will be noise associated with children playing and "scootering" etc. As with all CC sites I've been to, the noise ended around 9.30 as kids are recalled back home.  Toilet and shower blocks all very clean and in good repair.  Very handy for Looe and also exploring further afield. Fish and chip van arrives on Thursdays.  Little shop on site offers usual emergency supplies.  Our second visit. I'm sure we will all be back soon.

We will return ????

We visited the site for the first time over the August Bank Holiday.  On arrival everything was clearly marked and we reported to reception.  Not only did they know my name before I entered the building (presumably from my Reg No:) but the greeting and help we got from the staff was on a par to booking into a 5* plus hotel.  We cannot thank them enough for the help and is one of the reasons we will be returning to this sight in the future.  They knew my motorhome was on the larger side at (9. 5mtr) and had an allocated pitch for me which was easy to access, clean and in a nice location.  The facilities on site for washing etc were clean and modern and never looked over crowded even though the site was fairly full.  We took a walk around the site and were impressed with the pool and children's play area all the time being greeted by the staff with smiles and helpful advice.  The pitches on the top of the site looked quite close together for my taste and I can understand other comments about noise but this didn't affect us.  There is a bus stop right outside the gate with regular service to Looe or the other way to Plymouth which proved very handy as parking in Looe is tight and not cheap. All in all we had a wonderful stay and on our next visit to the area we will be stopping here again..

Great site, staff & facilities

This is a great site but very noisey and with little privacy.  Having said this we will return as this site has everything you will need or want for a family. It would be great if the noise reduced before 10pm.

Great site but....

We have just returned from 10 nights on this site. As usual the facilities are top notch and the wardens friendly, helpful and knowledgable. The swimming pool is great as is the park. There was the usual noises from children being children and having fun with their holiday friends, but by 9.30(ish) they were all quiet and no doubt snoring in their beds (mine included). On the downside, the WIFI is non existent (don't bother) and due to there being no walkway through to the toilet block there seemed to be a nasty habit of adults and children alike wandering through pitches taking a short cut (this annoyed me no end) to the point I would strategically place my chairs and the washing line to deter the practice! That said - would we go back - yes!

Brilliant site....too many trees

We had a fantastic fortnight. The site is extremley well presented. Very, very clean and very dog friendly. The site is close to Looe which is a lovely little fishing town with quite a few different activities within an hours drive. ( Camel Creek is great for cheap family days out) This site would get 5 stars except the huge amount of trees which pretty much robbed us of what sunshine we had on our pitch.  We were directly under some very large trees which left our 2 week old caravan looking worn and filthy by the end of the holiday and completley obscured the sun which meant no chilaxing under the sun outside the van. That said....if next year they do some major tree culling, it will be difficult not to go back. 4 out of 5

Wonderful Week Away

The site is perfect for Looe and surrounding areas. Firstly the site wouldn't be so good, if not for the excellent ground staff. The Toilets and shower facilities were top notch and spotlessly clean.  The wifi on my pitch was obsolete but playing cards and board games is actually better than loosing your family to social media. Didn't bother us at all. The site has normal noise levels through the day with the children playing and the evenings are what caravannings about. Bbq's, drinks and good company. We all thoroughly enjoyed the week and definitely will be back.
