Lovely Site but grass pitches a nightmare.

This is a lovely site, the facilities are very clean and the staff were brilliant. The only issue is the grass pitches. We went on the last weekend in September, and true to west country form, they had had a lot of rain. The grass pitches are not great as they are sloping, but they were a quagmire, every van or motorhome using them became stuck and had to be helped off with either mats or a tow, the staff were doing this full time, and they were great at it. Because of it's location, this site be virtually all hard standings, the club needs to invest in these upgrades. I will not visit the site again unless I can get on a hard standing.

Pre music festival stay

Stayed at Looe m & cc for second year running prior to Looe Music Festival for 4 nights then put the motorhome into storage for the duration of the festival great site facilities immaculate with continuous maintenance being carried out on the grounds, everything about the site is to like even in bad weather and all the staff so friendly and being only 2 mile out of Looe with a good bus or taxi service is very good also, there wholemeal bread is to die for so recommend buying a loaf. Good play area for the kids and during summer an outdoor pool to keep cool.

Happy Holiday

Spent two separate weeks holidays this summer with grandchild at site, it was very very busy but the wardens kept the site spotless including the toilet block (we were on grass on the lower field) grandchild loved the pool, playpark and golf. A new friend broke her arm and the wardens went above and beyond taking the parents and child (they had a large motorhome) to hospital, well done. Yes the site was very wet, cannot help the weather. My only negative was during the second stay older children were on the site and the ball park closed at 8.00 pm, in my opinion this is too early (light till 10.00) and they are on holiday, so they had nowhere to occupy themselves and then ran round the site playing hide and seek games, this did not bother us too much, but those with very young children trying to sleep!!! The ballpark could be kept open till later so they can play there and if the caravan club put on their booking page EG PLEASE NOTE SERVICE PITCHES OPPOSITE PLAY PARK, then those on the service pitches would have advance notice. Weighing up the pros and cons, yes would certainly return, both in and out of school holiday time, its a lovely site, very well looked after.

Really good stay

Returning after quite a few years we were pleased to receive a warm welcome and can only say that over 10 nights the wardens couldn't have been more helpful. Scanning some recent reviews we wonder which site some reviewers have been staying at, some seem to believe that the club rules are guidelines that wardens can vary at will. Yes the grass pitches were quite wet but that's not the fault of wardens, but perhaps more of these should be converted to hardstandings if this site is to cope better with inclement weather conditions in the future. Otherwise wardens, thanks for a really good stay, we'll be back.

Abrupt Staff

I have to agree with other reviewers that some of the staff here are unnecessarily abrupt and make you feel that your requests are too much trouble, so much so that it made us feel unwelcome. There were no hard standing pitches available when we arrived and the site was very wet, so much so that our step kept sinking into the grass whatever we tried to use to stabilise it underneath, which became dangerous. When I asked if we could move to a vacant hardstanding pitch the next morning I was basically greeted with contempt. Not acceptable. Notwithstanding this, the site is well located and the facilities are kept to the usual CAMC standards. However, we will not be returning.

Looe 23/08/17 4 nights

Looe itself is a lovely place but found the site a bit cramped and the staff in general not over helpful or friendly . Not a great site for young kids but it does not promise anything else. The dog walk area is poor and permanently damp due to getting no sun at all in the day. Local roads are a nightmare breathed a sigh of relief when we pulled in still in one piece the locals seem to prefer the middle of the road at Mach 1 !. The site is well kept and clean , would we go back ? Sorry no

Unfriendly staff

I visited this site for the first time on August 12th for one week. My son had arrived three days earlier and asked if we could be close together . He was informed that this could not be, and only when I arrived would I be able to choose my pitch. He was told that I could not arrive till 12.00pm, however, upon my arrival, my son informed me that new arrivals had been there from 9.00 am. When I arrived at 12. 20 pm, the pitch next to my son had been taken from 9.15 am. How can that be ? When I complained to the staff, they said there was nothing they could do about it and i was to write in and complain. On the two occasions I had to talk to the staff in the office, I felt that I was always bothering them and they were far too important to waste time with me. The staff need changing !!!!! Kind regards Ian larkins

Some People Need Education

(Rant 1) Just spent a week here the thing I find most annoying is the state of the toilet some people and possibly children leave them in. Obviously they don't know how to use a toilet brush and what it's designed for or are just too lazy to use it. One morning I went in to use one and some low life had smeared excretion on the wall. Come on what sort of people do we have in our club these Neanderthals should be banned from our club. (Rant 2) When we got there on the Sunday the weather was atrocious and the grass pitches were soaking I know this is beyond the control of the wardens but the drainage on our pitch was almost non existent and there were no mor empty pitches so we had to endure it. We felt that the grass pitches were too close together when you got your awning and car positioned it was very tight, could possibly do away with some pitches and widen the rest. Rants Over.

Unnecessary rudeness, had higher hopes

Rude Staff, Clean Site. There separate staff were rude and oppositional from the moment we arrived without us feeling we had a real welcome. The response was they were busy but we've been to much bigger (non motorhome and caravan sites whereby we have received an expected welcoming check in). Other users of the site also divulged in similar treatment just through basic conversations over setting up and getting your bearings. It was a sour taste at the start of our holiday that we overcome by not speaking to them again! The site is well maintained, the facilities are good, personally love the fact there is no club house however they do rotate bbq's and fish and chip nights etc. There is enough for children to do whilst on site all in one area. The route out is right in front of the play areas not the safest designs. The pool is warm and nicely laid out however disappointing that there are no toilets/showers accessible a little bit of a problem when you have a child needing to go. Plus it does mean you see a lot of people walking around with bathers/towel to the centre shower block (which you can't really politely cut through) not a major deal breaker. There are adult only sessions 10-11:30 but unfortunately the children's shallow pool was also closed for cleaning during this time. It would be beneficial for the pool to be open earlier. The pool is supervised with facilities to purchase goggles/swim aids and refreshments which is good. The pitches are regimented so some are better than others whereby you have space for a wind sheild and bbq but mostly space is restricted so there is very little grass area. We were OK on a corner bit it's luck of the draw there is no facility to book your pitch so if you turn up with friends it's most likely you won't be able to be next to them. A bonus to the whole holiday if you like to eat together/share resources or have children. This is the first CMC I've booked and I had higher hopes and found other neighboring sites more friendly just when checking out their shop. Perhaps go when it's quieter so you have more choice of pitch and staff are less stressed to give customers a friendly welcome.

Vin da Looe

The site is as popular as its Indian meal equivalent...(a kids dream : playground, tennis, crazy golf and even a outdoor brrrr. Swimming pool, what more could you ask for.....oh just one thing wifi) but magically the site didn't seem busy. The wardens did a great job of maintaining and keeping the site Clean - a great site. The Only small complaint - about the disgracefully appalling inadequate 1970's style Caravan & Motor Home wifi system....well it didn't work..! And not to forget the loo's were brilliant - clean and well maintained.
