love this park the wardens so welcoming and hard working the site was beautifully kept the only thing I would moan about the state of the drive in to the site the potholes were terrible
Quiet site
As always we read the reviews before we booked. The approach road is not great as does have pot holes. The shower block why old was serviceable and up to cc standards they were spotless clean however water pressure was low. We experienced no notice from the factory and only time we noticed a smell was when out for a walk and as it was melted chocolate it was not unpleasant. There is a children's playground but it was not in use when we visited and only suitable for small children. The site is well placed and near to both bus stop and railway station. You can easily walk into Chirk and to the nearby aqueaduct if you do go through canal tunnel you will need a touch. Chirk has a lovely butcher and greengrocers well worth visiting but butchers does shut dearly on Saturday. If you need a supermarket there is a Morrison's and Sainsburys in Oswestry along with a lovely sweet shop complete with train track and train around the store. If you visit the cafe by the aqueaduct it is nice although staff can be off hand but is pricey. Will definitely be back as a relaxing site well located and not far from home.

A bit tired?
Stayed on LMP for seven night at the beginning of April.Approach road did not create a favourable impression at all-full of large potholes. When it rained the rain water was cascading from the toilet block guttering onto the footpaths-because it was clogged with leaves and debris. The toilet blocks need new showers, water dribbling from shower heads. The site needs a bit of loving care, and a good clean to bring it up to the standard of other CC sites. We've been to LMP several times, but this last visit did not make a favourable impression. Are there plans for the future ?

Great Stopover and Long Stay
We stopped for one night last week. We stay here often. We love the trees, the wildlife and the wildflowers. It is very handy for Chirk Castle, which has great walks. The Llangollen canal and the Dee valley are very close by. Two pubs are 15 minutes away by shank's pony in Chirk village. There is also a good Coop.
The only fly in the ointment is the motorhome service point. It is set in the first glade past the entry barrier. If you are not in this glade, you need to go all round the site, out of the exit barrier, back in the entry barrier and then enter the glade. The waste point is a heavy manhole cover lifted by two hooks disguised as large rivets. You can either drive over the drain and then try to lift the cover from under your motorhome (impossible), or lift the cover first and try not to drive into the drain as you go over it.
Health and Safety it is not! This is why the site does not get five stars.
Rabbits!!
Stayed for 2 nights in March, friendly relaxing setting, good walks for dogs and owners in the surrounds of Chirk castle and the Aquaduct, usual amenities in Chirk town centre including a couple of decent pubs, CO-OP and fast food including a Thai noodle bar!
Good position to sample the delights of Shropshire and North Wales.
First stay
We stayed 2 nights and really enjoyed it, spotless facilities, great for dog walking, friendly, helpful wardens, would go back again. The dogs loved trying to catch the rabbits! Overall a nice break, Ann
March 2016 Lady Margarets Chirk
We stayed for a few nights mid March and really enjoyed our visit. We loved the walks in the local area and the convenience of the dog walking areas. It was really peaceful and quiet with extremly clean and spotless facilities. The smell of chocolate on occasions was unusual but quite enjoyable. Definately visit again very professional.
March stay
We stay in Lady Margaret's several times a year and love it there. I have been commenting on the potholes for several years with nothing being done. They are hard to avoid if there are walkers on the road. My other gripes ( sorry!) were showers that merely trickled at times and a hairdryer that was a complete waste of time. My other problem was that I can barely lift the recycling bin lids as I have arthritis in the shoulders. Please can we have the ones with slot-in holes ? I enjoyed my stay however and will be back. The cheapest diesel was again at Sainsburys Wrexham.

Pot holes
We have been coming to this site for the last 20 years and we have to agree with the other comments about the toilet block being tired and run down. Most of the wardens are friendly, but have noticed not so with all the campers,a lot of people will avoid eye contact at all cost and just not say hello (why are they camping?) As for the pot holes on the approach road to the site how on earth can you miss them, they can do serious damage to your car and van.We had an anti roll bar snap once in similar conditions and it cost £450 to repair. We think this site is due for a refit??

Spring break
We had a lovely ten night stay at this site it is very central for visiting the many places of interest in the area. We found the wardens friendly and helpful. The shower block was clean and tidy but needs refurbishing. The weather was freezing cold during our stay so the shower block needed a bit more heating. As other have said the road into the site urgently needs repairing, it is littered with huge potholes. However we will return.
