Chirk C.C.

Spent 3 nights here between Christmas and New Year 2014. Wardens were friendly and helpful, pitches were big enough for 'van, car and awning. Site is well placed for touring this part of North East Wales including Lllangollen, Glen Ceiriog,Wrexham and Chester. Good pub food nearby (Poachers) and better quality food at Lion Quay. One word of warning for the unwary, some of the EHU sockets require you to connect then turn socket 1/4 turn clockwise.

Great New Year Stay

We stayed at this site over New Year 2014, and decided to return this year. The site is well-located, with plenty of good walking in all directions. The only negative is some noise from a near-by factory, when the wind is blowing in the wrong direction. The local town is also very pleasant. We ate at the Indian restaurant and thoroughly enjoyed it. Facilities on site are clean and well-kept and the shower rooms are lovely and warm. However, this year's stay was made really special by the friendly and hard-working wardens, Maria and Les. They put on a New Year's Eve party, and invited everybody to attend. This was unexpected and great fun. It was a great opportunity to meet and socialise with other campers. We'll definitely book again for next year! Many thanks to Maria and Les for such a lovely stay.
