Spot on

Just back from 7 nights at Knaresbrough taking in the New Year. I've lost count of how many New Years we've spent here, but we are in for next  new year too! As ever The facilities spot on, the wardens spot on, the site spot on, the bistro spot on ( nice going Chris and team) the weather....hmmm, can't have everything....looking forward to Easter here now. Mind you we may sneak one in before then, do we like Knaresbrough CC site? I should say so, spot on!!

New Year at Knaresborough

What a lovely 4 nights we have had at this site, it is our second visit and was even better than our first visit. The wardens were very helpful and friendly and the facilities were spotless and warm as toast. We spent the New Year in the Bar/Bistro and had a brilliant night and made some great new friends, always a bonus. We had a couple of nice walks down the nearby Nidd Gorge, well worth it and it's only a short walk from the site. The nearby Guy Fawkes pub is a warm and friendly place serving great food, as is the even nearer Club Bistro! All in all a wonderful start for 2016, winter caravaning is great, more people should try it, it helps keep the caravan in good condition through the winter too.

Fantastic Wardens on duty

Well what a difference !! We arrived on Christmas Eve for a 4 night stay.  The Wardens on duty at this date were absolutely fantastic.  They welcomed us with a genuine smile,  and no grumbles for being a bit early.  They even held a social event of free wine and nibbles on Christmas Eve, just bring your own glass.  Much different to the grumpy previous Wardens.  Can we keep these Wardens please as they are wonderful.  Had Christmas Dinner in the Bistro with Chris at the helm.  Once again a fantastic meal and entertainment, and really good value for money.  Well done team Knaresborough.

Good old Yorkshire

What a lovely site just outside Knaresborough, ideal for walking with lots of footpaths. Explore the history of Knaresborough it will not disappoint but don't tell everyone. And when you've had a busy day it's nice to relax in the Club Bistro for a meal or a drink.

Another excellent visit

Visited 17/12 for three nights and greeted by a fabulously friendly warden, clearly different to the one mentioned in an earlier review. Site was half empty all weekend and spotlessly clean. Toilet block was clean and very warm. The underfloor heating almost burned my feet.  It's a great location for visits to knaresborough town centre. You can walk along the Nidd Gorge, it takes about an hour. Lovely walk along the river and woods. A taxi ride is about £7. Also ideal for visiting Harrogate, 10 mins by car.  I can recommend the Guy Fawkes arms in Scotton village. Just turn right out of the site. It's a five minute walk. Lovely gastro pub. If you go at lunch they have a 2 course special £12.95. Beautiful food and a nice pub with a real fire. Great atmosphere.  I can highly recommend knaresborough club site. Think it's our favourite.

short stay

16th- 18th December, we arrived to the usual friendly welcome of this very clean and tidy site, the toilet block is always very clean, and warm in the winter months, the pitches have ample room and are not too close together, the lighting on site is a little poor, the bus service is also poor with only 4 buses a day, but if the weathers dry its only a 20-30 minute walk into Knaresborough, the road to the site through the town can be tricky, as the road narrows a little, but in general a good base to visit the surrounding attractions, North Yorkshire have to offer, well worth a visit.

Training required

Having used this site many times before, we were disgusted by the rudeness of the warden on duty when we arrived 15 minutes early last weekend. In torrential rain and very high winds, we pulled on to a pitch to wait for the office to open. The greeting of 'what's your problem' by whom we were later informed was a relief warden, was unacceptable. The entrance to the site was completely flooded all weekend and we were told to climb through a hole in the hedge to exit the site. Fortunately, we received the usual warm, friendly greeting in the onsite bistro and after a lovely meal, we decided not to leave the site after all. Perhaps the caravan club needs to review its warden training packages.

Windy Visit

Just had yet another weekend in Knaresborough. The weather was wild but did not put a damper on our weekend. The site is 1 3/4 miles out side of Knaresborough. Quiet location with a lovely bistro on site with plenty of space between pitches. Just a short walk from the site is the Guy Fawkes public house. The hospitality and the food is amazing. Make sure you book as they get very busy

Lovely site

Stayed here for the first time just for a short break. The weather wasn't great but we felt if we enjoyed the site in Winter then we would be back in the Summer. The facilities are good & clean. The site is a little out of Knaresborough but not a problem & plenty of places to get to for days out. There is a bus stop outside the site although we didn't use public transport on this occasion. Like a previous review, there is a little noise from a farm generator nearby. We had a pitch quite a way from it but could still hear it. The Bistro on site is an added bonus. We treated ourselves to a 3 course meal on the last night & really enjoyed it. Ample portions for us, friendly service & the meal was hot, always a good indicator. Can imagine it could be very busy at the height of the season. Cannot rate the facilities for families as it does not apply to us. We will be back at some point.
