Our stay at Knaresborough

We have just spent 4 nights at Knaresborough CC site and were very impressed. From the moment we checked in the wardens were very friendly, helpful and professional. As for the previous post it does state on the website that check in is from 1pm and this becomes clear why when you get there. The approach road is quite narrow. If people start turning up at 12.30pm then the next time it might push to 12pm and so on. The site itself was immaculate even given that the weather was snowy then wet. Toilet blocks were very clean and warm, even the floor. Nice and quiet but very handy for visiting Harrogate and York. Local buses and trains go to both but quite easy to drive to as well. There is a bar and a bistro on site, we didn't use it but saw plenty of other people coming and going. We will use this site again

Love this site ...shame about the 1pm Rule!

This was our second stay at Knaresborough and can only agree with all the other positive comments, it is a fantastic site. Bathrooms are really warm and spotlessly clean. The site is in a great location with easy walk to town, walks on doorstop and easy drive to attractions of North Yorkshire. The only negative is the 1 o'clock rule which is strictly adhered to by the current warden - Never before had we had such a rude welcome to a CC site. We still cant quite believe that we were actually asked to leave the site and drive into Knaresborough or take a slow drive with the caravan and return at 1pm! We were astounded! We had a good 4 hour journey and made good time so arrived just before 12.30! Others who arrived that day and on other days got the same welcome! The majority of CC sites are 12pm arrival and it seems ridiculous that the 1pm rule is applied in such a manner. It did not spoil our stay but we think the Club should reconsider this ruling.

Wonderful site

What a wonderful site we arrived on the 1st day of the seasons opening with brand new wardens who were so very helpful. It was very clean and a perfect location with a bus stop right outside the gate handy being a motorhome tourer great for visiting Harrogate and ripon. Will definitely recommend to others and will definitely be returning

Yorkshire Heaven

This was our second visit having stayed in Nov15. It did not disappoint. We had a wonderful and relaxing stay. The site is easy to get to, a brilliant location being 1.5 miles from Knaresborough and a 30 minute walk. The wardens were helpful, the site is well kept and the toilet block is spotless. We will be back.

What a Wonderful Site

This is our second stay with this site and we were due to stay from Christmas eve to the bank holiday monday, but unfortunately after we arrived and set up christmas eve afternoon we had electrical issues with our caravan preveting us from staying. The wardens that were on duty over the christmas period couldn't have been kinder or more helpful. We were so grateful for all their help. The site is beautiful and the wardens are so friendly and welcoming, we will definitley be returning.

Excellent location and facilities

Wardens Roz and Ian were really kind and helpful, this was my first time caravaning. The location was ideal, only a 10 minute walk into the beautiful historic market town of Knaresborough.

Happy New Year

We took a break here last December but only arrived New Year's Day.  We were told the previous night's party had been fun and so decided to book over New Year this year.  What a great night we had?? Chris is a great host.  The company was good and a good time seemed to be had by all.  So good in fact that we've booked for next year.   The bistro always pleases.  Nothing fancy but that's the good thing about it.  If you want good, piping hot home cooked food you won't be disappointed.  And you can take your four legged friend along with you which is even better. Can't wait to go back later this year.

A great new year to remember.

Arrived and greeted by the wardens. What nice people a great start for a fantastic New Year. We had chance to explore the local area. The night was attended by people like minded to enjoy the beginning of 2016. It was a good night. I would like to thank all that made it a special night. See you all next year.

Great New Year Break

Spent new year here our first visit for a number of years, what a great time Fellow caravaners made it a very good new years eve in the bistro.Just a pity that some people think because they are regulars that other members have to take a back seat. The relief wardens on duty were absolutely brilliant ,so polite and helpful. A credit to the caravan club.
