Knaresborough Club Campsite

Good Site, Poor Welcome.
Along with other comments the stringent application of arrival time, incorrectly stated on booking form, ETA clearly 12.00 to 2.00 pm, confused with arrival dictat of 1.00 pm only and I mean only! Arrived at approx. 12.40 and HAD to exit site, instructed to travel some 10 miles to Ripley, caught in traffic for show at Ripley Castle, and arrived back at site to join queue on main road, blocking same, with the 1.00 clock charge of the light brigade in full swing. The situation was so bad the camp commandant! had to break the rules and allow all and sundry onto the site, without booking in, just to clear the road block!! Not very secure and I am sure a rule or two went out the window that day, Must be very upsetting for someone so attentive to the rules. Clearly a situation created by an IT issue on the booking form, An application of the rules even to within 5 minutes on a later day. In thirty years with the club I have never seen the like. Local pub is not dog friendly but you are allowed to sit outside behind the cars in the car park at the mercy of the wasps and bees . A lot of noise from farm traffic in ajoining lane at this time of year, to be expected?
First and probably last visit to this.
Excellent area to stay

Unattended children!
Lovely site!!
Recently visited Knaresborough with two grandchildren. Only saw relief Wardens, who were rather misleading about a booking we had made at the Bistro. When this was sorted we were so pleased to have made the booking. Very nice experience, good choice, good food, and a very caring, kind reaction from Nick (I think he was), when my grandaughter smashed a glass! We were lucky with the weather which made for a great few days. We were surprised how little the play park was used, ours loved it. Just five pieces of equipment, but they were super, and suited to older children too as well as the little ones. The site has a nice feel, and is a very attractive place to be. Visited Newby Hall, Mother Shipton in Knaresborough, and the cinema in Harrogate. Loads of reasons to return to this area, only scratched the surface!
Disappointed
