Warden

I arrived on time or so I thought at 12.20 no one waiting thought champion warden walks over and says you will have to leave site drive few miles up the road by a roundabout and wait tI'll 1pm as it's my dinner I thought he was joking but he wasn't is I left not happy checked sheet 12 till 2 but also checked caravan year book and yep it's 1pm my fault so had to bite the bullet but why have consistency on rules and regs but not times of arrival anyway over the few days it happened to a few people who were not happy one at 12.45 was sent away he was going ballistic I think the warden will be getting bad reviews but not his fault but attitude change may help needs looking at the time as causing upset site ok pub and restaurant ok expensive noise from farm traffic dog walk not the best 2scoops

Good Site, Poor Welcome.

Along with other comments the stringent application of arrival time, incorrectly stated on booking form, ETA clearly 12.00 to 2.00 pm, confused with arrival dictat of 1.00 pm only and I mean only! Arrived at approx. 12.40 and HAD to exit site, instructed to travel some 10 miles to Ripley, caught in traffic for show at Ripley Castle, and arrived back at site to join queue on main road, blocking same, with the 1.00 clock charge of the light brigade in full swing. The situation was so bad the camp commandant! had to break the rules and allow all and sundry onto the site, without booking in, just to clear the road block!! Not very secure and I am sure a rule or two went out the window that day, Must be very upsetting for someone so attentive to the rules. Clearly a situation created by an IT issue on the booking form, An application of the rules even to within 5 minutes on a later day. In thirty years with the club I have never seen the like. Local pub is not dog friendly but you are allowed to sit outside behind the cars in the car park at the mercy of the wasps and bees . A lot of noise from farm traffic in ajoining lane at this time of year, to be expected?

First and probably last visit to this.

Excellent area to stay

Overall the site was excellent.  The wardens not really friendly like other sites.  Gave all the information etc but something missing.  I  do feel music in the bathrooms should be installed as it breaks the silence if you get my drift.  No signs offering emergency services information inc vets etc.  Also no mop/bucket to sterilise shower after use or signs to advise people to pull shower curtain across after use. Small things but make the difference.

Frusration

Not very happy with the booking in. We arrived 20mins early 12:50 hrs and were asked to go off site drive down the road around a roundabout then return for 1pm. We were in a motorhome I'd of been even more angry had we of been in our caravan. I was not demanding entry but happy to wait in the pull in section. So as a consequence our intended stay was reduced to 1 night. It was a shame the area has a lot to offer. Next time were that way we'll stay on a different site. I know rules are rules but 20 mins.  ??

Realaxing place

This site is really good for relaxing and it is situated close to good walks, dog friendly, also only a 10 minute walk away fro a really good pub that serves lovely food. The site is clean and well organised and I would recommend this site to anyone who would like a relaxing time.

Wonderful Site

We stayed at this site recently and I think we can safely say this was one of our favourite sites. Our daughter and son-in-law who are also members of the caravan club had their van opposite us. We were greeted by VERY friendly wardens who were so helpful and made sure that you enjoyed your stay with them. We loved the little individual areas which had a low hedge around them but did not cut you off from the other campers. There were lots of little bunnies around which added to the attraction. The showers were immaculate and the site was very well maintained and you could see that the wardens took pride in their site. We actually made sure that we went to say goodbye personally to the wardens because they had been so helpful and friendly. When we are next in that part of the woods we would not hesitate to book this site again.

Knaresborough

Used this site as an overnight before reaching Durham and we are so glad we did. Apart from a well organised and very clean site it also had a bistro & bar. The food was excellent as was the service. It was our first time to Knaresborough and we intend to go there again.

Unattended children!

Very nice site, but we were plagued with hoards of Children riding bikes round and round and round the camp roadways, I thought they were supposed to be supervised but the wardens made no attempt to curb this? Think we need adult only sites!    The food in the bistro was excellent!

Lovely site!!

Recently visited Knaresborough with two grandchildren. Only saw relief Wardens, who were rather misleading about a booking we had made at the Bistro. When this was sorted we were so pleased to have made the booking. Very nice experience, good choice, good food, and a very caring, kind reaction from Nick (I think he was), when my grandaughter smashed a glass! We were lucky with the weather which made for a great few days. We were surprised how little the play park was used, ours loved it. Just five pieces of equipment, but they were super, and suited to older children too as well as the little ones. The site has a nice feel, and is a very attractive place to be. Visited Newby Hall, Mother Shipton in Knaresborough, and the cinema in Harrogate. Loads of reasons to return to this area, only scratched the surface!

Disappointed

Nice site however full so was put on the field at the back.  It was pitch black with no lights, covered in rabbit holes.  I aid for a caravan club site and stayed on a field!  Location good however busy road to Knaresborough and no cycle paths.
