Idyllic.......

My friend and I had a wonderful 2 nights stay here... I am a newbie to this game and learned an awful lot of things.... I was " made" to reverse my caravan in ha ha ha by the lovely ccl man. I was so scared of doing it but I'm so thankful to him for taking the time to show me how to reverse, I was overwhelmed by the sense of achievement! I will be going again as 2 days wasn't long enough.Thank you.

Great stay....again

Must say this is our favourite site. The benefit of the bistro makes it even better. Despite the fact Chris had worked on his own for 4 weeks and 3 days, he was still his normal pleasant self. The facilities are first class, only down side was we couldn't saty longer.

Lovely site

Always a pleasure to return to this well kept site with friendly and helpful wardens. A well situated site with easy walking along the Nidd Gorge, or bus into Knaresborough. We love the fact the shower block is always so warm unlike many other club sites - thank you.

Good few days

We received a warm welcome from the wardens after making sure we didn't arrive before 1pm!  A nice peaceful and very well kept site.  The facilities were good and it was great for the dogs with good access to the bridle path which runs alongside the site.  Only downside were the too numerous rabbits!!

Arrived 25 minutes early and forced to leave

Didn't realise that this site had 13:00 arrival time and got there at 12:35. Warden made us leave the site despite the surrounding roads being very narrow. Don't understand the previous comment regarding queues as we were the only people waiting and there was plenty of space for several units to queue. We were informed that the later arrival time was so that the wardens could have a lunch break but don't understand this either as small sites like Garlieston manage to keep to the noon arrival time. While we were waiting on the lane outside the site another unit had arrived which wasn't turned away and had booked in and paid when we drove back on at 13:02. Are there different rules for different members? We have an elderly motorhome rather than a double axle caravan with pickup truck/range rover.

A weekend away in October 2016

Friendly staff on arrival and a small but peaceful site. We tried the recommended cycle route, which for a Relatively new comer to this activity, was a bit scary on the quieter but narrower roads. I was glad to arrive back and on reflection I did enjoy the ride. We then walked into knareborough along the dog walk and this was about 6 mile and again very enjoyable. We didn't try the restaurant but it did smell nice as we passed by. The showers were good with under floor heating. We didn't have any children, but the new furnished play area looked amazing and catered for the older children. We will return to this site.

Good site for a short break

First visit to site which was planned so that we could look at Knaresborough which we had not visited previously. As "motorhomes", we like sites near towns and ideally on a bus route and this site meets both requirements. We had also previously visited the nearby pub/restaurant, The Guy Fawkes Inn, which provides excellent food at a reasonable price and is only a 10 minute walk away from the site. We had an enjoyable meal here on our first night and visited the site bar/bistro on our second night. The visit to the bar/bistro was "difficult" as the man who operates/runs it was on his own through some non-disclosed circumstance so he was doing all the cooking and serving (incl. the bar) on his own. This limited the options (main courses only) but our fish &  chips were very good. overall, an enjoyable visit and we will probably go again as it is only approx. 45 mins drive for us to the site.

Great autumnal stay

Had a wonderful stay at Knaresborough. We found the wardens most helpful and obliging.Well done!!! Site very clean and tidy and atmosphere relaxing. Great location but bad for traffic in Knaresborough itself. Good area for walking with dogs and had some good days at Ripon ( 10 miles away) and Ripley ( 2 miles).

September visit

our 4th trip to Knaresborough in late September, Wardens very efficient and helpful as usual. Pity about the other visitors trying to get in early, do they not read the instruction sheets? We were stuck on the main road twice returning from sight seeing when we came back at 12:30 and 12:45 and had to join the queue. Very disappointed to find the Bistro was being run by Chris on his own, it is one of the highlights of our visit and because of restricted servings we only managed one meal in the 4 nights we stayed. Chris did a sterling job trying to cook and serve at the bar by himself. we hope that the situation is corrected before our next visit, it is one of our favorite sites.
