Our overall view of this site would be excellent if all facilities were open.we arrived early afternoon by the very friendly site wardens(who were excellent by the way) to be told that the toilet and shower blocks were shut for referb.i had booked some months in advance but could not remember seeing it when i booked it.if nothing else they could have discounted the pitch fee's for all the other unhappy club members that were also not impressed.i also paid £10.00 for the site WiFi and i must say it was absolutely terrible if you managed to actually get on line within seconds it went off again.i went into a local cafe and there free WiFi was brilliant.Apart from the price caravan club should get there act together as WiFi is a part of everybody's life now and must be of a certain quality.
Hawes
We love Hawes but the site should not be open till the redevelopment has been finished half the site was closed the other half needed work doing no boosters not much gravel on pitches far to expensive for what you are getting won't be going back till site is fully open
Great
Great site warm welcome hard working wardens even without facilities no problems as most vans caravan or motorhomes have everything on board, great area .
Another great site.
Another great site. Ten minutes walk in to the main street which has plenty of lovely pubs selling great food. The pubs are very dog friendly with open fires which we appreciated after being out in the cold. Have already booked our return trip.

Great Site
We have visited this site on 2 occasions.
The site is well kept & of a good standard.
It is close to the lovely town of Hawes & easy for visiting the Wensleydale Cheese factory too.
All the pubs allow dogs, so all round a great place to visit.
Some good walks from the site too, across the hills.
The only negative is that it's booked up for New Year 2017 & we haven't got in!
A great site to visit - we will most certainly be back.
Wet, windy but still wonderful
Have just returned home after spending Christmas week at Hawes accompanied by storm Barbara. We had 5 consecutive days of up to 60mph winds and heavy rain but still put on waterproofs and walked every day. The site was fairly quiet whilst we were there but filled up the day before we left with people coming for the New Year. In spite of the weather conditions the site staff were generally cheerful and kept the soon to be refurbished facilities in good order. The day we left dawned cold but sunny and at long last we could see the views that we knew were there! We enjoyed our stay and will undoubtedly visit again once all the improvements have been made.
Perfect for the Dales
A perfect place to explore the Yorkshire Dales.
You will even get up early enough as the cows from the neighbouring farm are clearly audible.
Very nice & helpful welcome, although we arrived late in the evening.
Leaving the site to go north might be tricky with a large outfit as some roads in Hawes are quite narrow.

The welcome makes all the difference
Back for the fourth annual visit.
This year the welcome from the warden on Friday the 4th Nov. was excellent.
Last year I had a lecture about parking the van in such tones as to be almost insulting. I was still in the office then never mind on a pitch.
This year, different warden with an attitude that is in total contrast, much better. Lovely site.
Excellent
I am fairly new to The Caravan Club, but this site is the best I have been to so far. It is only 10 minutes walk from the beautiful town of Hawes and the views are just stunning. The site is really quiet with large pitches and the dog walking field is brilliant. I was very impressed and many thanks. Had a great few meals in the Crown and the Gayle Water and Saw Mill is definately worth a visit. Jackie
