Another great stay

We stayed here for 5 nights during a 6 week tour of the Scottish Borders, Cumbria and North Yorkshire. We have stayed before and it was good to see that the facility block had been upgraded. Yet again, sadly other club members don't treat the facilities with respect or simply don't know what a toilet brush is for. The wardens were welcoming and very helpful and held a coffee and cake event whilst we were there on behalf of cancer research. We have always liked this site as it is an easy walk into the town, which has a superb local market and plenty of eating places which are all dog friendly. It is also well situated to visit the Dales and all the many tourist attractions and of course the local cheeses. Overall we had a great time and would certainly recommend the site.

A great site in a great location

A lovely well kept site near to the village of Hawes. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. The new toilet block is great, plenty of showers, toilets and washrooms, not too sure why we have to use a key to get in, but maybe its to keep passing walkers from using the facilities. The dog walking area is great, with a large field so that the dogs can have a good play off the lead. The bench at the top of the field is a good idea as the view is amazing. A lovely site that we will be visiting again and again.

A fabulous site very close to the beautiful little town of Hawes

Visited Hawes Caravan and Motorhome Site with 2 friends. On arrival I was met by the loveliest lady warden who was extremely friendly and very helpful. During out stay I had to ask for help with the TV (3 ladies travelling together and not technical) and again the male warden could not do enough to help me. During our stay the two lady wardens organised a Macmillan Cancer cake stall in the games rooms. Again they were both lovely and we chatted about our experiences on different sites. It gave us a chance to meet other people and thought it was an excellent idea. Well done you two - hope you made lots of money for such a worthwhile charity. The site was spotless and so were the amenities. No doubt down to the hard working wardens. The site is very close to the beautiful little town of Hawes which is extremely picturesque. It has quite a number of shops and plenty of eating establishments as well as the famous Wensleydale Cheese Factory. I will be back to this site very soon.

The perfect site!

This has to be one of our favourite sites. The location is ideal for those wanting a short stroll into the lovely village of Hawes, or for the more energetic who are spoilt for choice with endless scenic walks in the area. Hardraw, Gayle, Burtersett, Cotterdale..... all beautiful areas to walk in , with fantastic views if you get up on the fells! The site itself is kept clean and tidy by the friendly wardens, the renovated toilet block is a great improvement. And to top it all Hawes has the best dog walk on the network!

Peaceful site, fabulous location

We stayed here just for the one night as a halfway point on our way home from Coniston and courtesy of the Club with our free night stay voucher! What a beautiful, well kept site. The lady warden (sorry, I didn't take your name) was so friendly and helpful and a credit to the Club. The site was full but so peaceful and our pitch (29) was great. The facilities are spotless and the dog exercise field was a huge bonus for us as it is totally enclosed so the dogs could run and explore off lead to their heart's content - great for our escape artist of a Beagle who has no recall whatsoever! It was also good to see lots of dog waste bins and thoughtfully provided small shovels meaning there was no mess on the field whatsoever, just as it should be. It's a very short walk into the lovely Hawes and I would certainly recommend the butchers there, the pubs and eateries also look good but we didn't try them this time. This is the first time we have stayed on the site and we will definitely be coming back, the scenery is spectacular and it's nice to be so close to the town but one night wasn't enough, we didn't want to come home!

Just another point, you need a long TV aerial to plug into the booster on the bollard - they do sell them at reception for £15 but internet coverage (02) is excellent so we just used our phone as a hotspot and connected to the Chromecast, flawless coverage.

Fantastic Hawes

2nd visit to this site 31st August to 3rd September which now has to be our favourite. The wardens were extremely hard working and very helpful in pointing out the pitches that were available. We spent 3 nights there and never used our car once because of the proximity to the village centre which has some excellent places to eat, and drink plus the fantastic countryside to go walking in. The brand new facilities are a great improvement and were kept immaculately clean by the wardens. Needless to say that we will be back.

Will be back

A fantastic site. Can only echo what others have said about the great facilities, lovely wardens and beautiful setting. We will be back. Highlights were seeing the flying Scotsman on the Ribblehead Viaduct, the Kettlewell Scarecrow festival, beautiful scenery, visiting film locations for 'All Creatures Great and Small' and 'Robin Hood, Prince of Thieves', and plenty of walks.

Near to village and pubs

This site is perfectly situated with a 5 minute walking distance of Hawes village. The village is very picturesque with lovely pubs, shops and cafes. Most are very dog friendly and even offer dogs a biscuit and water. The White Hart Inn serves lovely meals..but I would recommend booking a table for any of the pubs as they do get quite busy. There is a Chinese restaurant / take away and Indian restaurant/ takeaway in the village too. The dog walk on site was the best we've seen. Our pitch was great and the toilet block / showers were immaculate. We love this site and will definitely be back.
