Perfect location to explore the Dales.

We have stayed on this site twice during October and have found it to be a really pleasant and well kept site. The site is ideally situated to explore the villages and countryside of the Yorkshire Dales and is within easy walking distance of the town of Hawes. The wardens work tirelessly to keep the site to a high standard, are always pleasant and approachable. The town has a number of pubs and various independent shops, the Hawes creamery is just above the town, which makes a variety of cheeses and has a well stocked gift shop.

A lovely place to be

As you would expect, Hawes is a lovely site, kept really carefully by very friendly and helpful wardens. Pitches, toilet blocks etc are great. However if you are thinking of booking then think about the following. It is situated just on the edge of Hawes. It is a two minute walk into town. Lots of great pubs, cafes and lots of independent shops. The street market was inside the market hall as it was a bit windy. The farmers market and auction house is just around the corner and adds some authenticity to a busy working town. The Wensleydale creamery is in the town although we thought it was too much gift shop and cafe rather than creamery. The walking is straight off the site. We were doing the waterfalls and really liked Aysgill force not far. We also visited Hardraw force although the pub charges an admission fee! Not really in the spirit of the area. You should really stay at this site because of its fantastic location, the facilities are a given. The views, scenery and countryside are the real winners here. A lovely place to be.

Great Weekend

We've just returned from a weekend in Hawes. We've been here many times before and it never ceases to please. The newly refurbished toilet block is lovely, with much more spacious showers and lovely hot water. The wardens are friendly and helpful - a few caravans were delayed by traffic and they were already prepared with a spacious pitch allocated to us as it was dark when we arrived, and also came down to the pitch with a powerful torch so we could park up with no problems. As usual, it was peaceful and quiet on site even though it was full. We had a lovely walk up to the Creamery for cheese, then over to Simonstone and Hardraw and we'd booked a table at The Crown in Hawes for a meal - it's dog-friendly too. We will be back!

First visit

Just returned from a long weekend at hawes very impressed with the site ,clean and tidy, even with lots of rain and wind, good size pitches plenty of room for van and awning. Nice to hear sheep and cows after all you are next to a working farm .all part of being in the county side. Will be returning soon. White Hart pub in the village serves cracking meals even at 20.30hrs on Sunday night. Site would benefit from signage in the village as it is easy to miss the turning Well done to wardens for hard work in maintaining the site.

Great Site but use Ingleton Approach from North West

Stayed here in October 2017 having travelled there from Scotland. The wardens and site were all that you should expect for a Club site but, if approaching from the Northwest, I recommend consideration of taking the route via Ingleton. I found that route easier and as quick as the route via Brough and it avoids relative long sections of narrow or single track road.

Lovely relaxing site

The wardens on this site deserve a medal each, not least for the unenviable task of picking up the dead leaves every day. The site is very clean and well kept, the facilities are new so are super. Although the weather was not our friend we did enjoy our stay and will deffo return.

Just passing by.

We just stopped for the night whilst returning from Scotland. What a delight, well positioned near the town, lovely and helpful staff and immaculate facilities. Well done the team at Hawes.

Post refurbishment visit.

This is a superb club site, split in two . The facility block and motorhome waste point was refurbished in 2017. The shower block is now of a standard we expect from the club. With a number of commercial sites close it needs to be at the top of its game. The area is excellent for all year walking. The town has everything you want and the Creamery is its high spot. If a flyfisher the river Ure is avalable with permits from site office. Excellent trout and grayling over miles of main river and burns. We use site regularly and consider it one of the best in the network.

Lovely site and lovely wardens :-)

We stayed here at the end of Sep/beginning of Oct and really enjoyed our stay. Facilities are great and everywhere is lovely and clean. The wardens work hard and are very helpful. The Coffee and Cake event in aid of cancer was a great success and the ladies did really well. We will definitely visit this site again as it is only minutes from the centre of Hawes where there are quite a few pubs that serve good food. There is only a Spar shop in the town, so one suggestion is take what you need and use the local shop for bare necessities. The walks from the site are great too - visit the waterfall, it's well worth the few pounds you pay to walk to it. Thank you for a lovely break.
