Excellent location.

Excellent location. Lots of walks easy or harder in the area without need for car. Nice local pubs Shame it has to shut January for few months

The first but not the last!

We have just spent a Twixmas visit at this brilliant site. We have visited Hawes before many years ago but not in the Motorhome. The site was nearly full and lovely to see the decorations around reception and on the vans. The toilet blocks were spotless and the wardens cheerful. We have a lively dog who thoroughly enjoyed the onsite dog walk which is great for off lead ball chasing. We didn’t have much time to explore but loved the short walk into Hawes where we found 6 pubs lots of lovely cafes, butchers, bakers, chippy, sweet shop, pet shop and several outdoor clothing shops. In fact everything you could possibly need for your stay. It also is beautifully decorated in its Christmas fashion and added to the festive feel. We loved being able to join the penninine way for getting further into the country. The site has a play area and a games room. No park but there is one just along the road. It is very well placed for visiting surrounding areas and there is plenty to see in this area. We might even bring the Grandkids the next time. Already booked again. Great!!

Excellent site

We have just spent 5 nights over Christmas and received a warm, friendly welcome on arrival. Unfortunately my wife was confined to a wheelchair for this visit, but this didn't spoil our enjoy ment of this well run, spacious and exceptionally clean site. For the disabled visitor the facilities are 2nd to non and though the site is sloping it will not offer any difficulties, this cannot be said for several places in Hawes. For the able bodied the walking / cycling is straight off the site and there are plenty of visitor attractions within easy reach. The staff and the site are a credit to the club, it is well worth a visit.

Hawes a little gem

Another site that the C&MH Club can be rightly proud of. Operated & maintained by a very efficient and friendly staff. Made to feel very welcome right from the moment we arrived. The toilet and shower facilities were warm and immaculately maintained. The village of Hawes is just 5 minutes walk from the site with quaint village shops and welcoming local pubs, not forget the wonderful Wensleydale Creamery.

Be Prepared & Enjoy

Make sure you have levelling ramps (with room for manoeuvre), an aerial hook-up extension (if that's your bag), layers (in case the weather turns) and a sunny disposition. If you arrive with those items covered you'll have a great time. This site is beautifully situated in a stunning part of the world surrounded by sights and walks aplenty. The guy with the little tractor is a bit over zealous of a morning bless him so if you like a lie-in bring ear plugs... other than that, roll up, park up and enjoy!

Can’t fault it

A superb site in walking distance from Hawes. Short drive, bike ride or walk away from superb places that the Dales has to offer. The site is clean, great pitches and a superb dog walk.

Fantastic dog walk but noisy leaf blowing monster!

Wonderful site that we have stayed on several times before. The dog walk is superb! As there are sheep wherever you look, this is a rare opportunity to let your dog have a wonderful off lead walk, with many different paths to explore etc. Although I rated this site as 5 star for peace and quiet, this only would apply to times when the leaf blower was silent, and it was again possible to hear bird song, sheep etc. This petrol guzzling smelly, noisy monster has been far too active! Surely we all realise that if you book a country site in autumn, there will be leaves about. The leaves that have been ‘moved’ off the road and onto the pitches and grass, will soon be back again with the next gust of wind. Surely a rather futile exercise? Wouldn’t we all rather enjoy the peace and quiet, and perhaps a little siesta whilst we relax ?

Remote!

We have tried to get on to this site for the last 2 years, but it was always full. We eventually managed to get on in October. Hawes is a lovely town good eateries etc. The site borders onto a working farm, first morning we were wakened with the constant barking of a 🐕 from 550am not what you want when on holiday! Spoke to the warden, who I have to say, was excellent, and asked to move pitch, managed that no problem. The road we drove in wasn't the best. It's just a pity that the club, doesn't advertise the site being next to a farm!
