A great taste of Yorkshire, with an odd flypast.

We enjoyed our stay at this site, close to the village of Hawes, with all the charms of a rural Yorkshire village and I can only echo what others have written. It really is that good.

Facilities are very good and kept very clean and tidy. The pitches likewise are of a high standard. There's even a large games room for kids on wetter days! The dog walk is superb, where animals can be let off their leads to run off steam.

The RAF use the Yorkshire moors for low level flying training, so if you’re lucky you may also see one or two of their aircraft barrelling down the valley here. We saw a couple of C-130 transports and a Typhoon fighter whizz by, but these very occasional movements are by no means intrusive, more of a spectacle.

Our favourite!

We have just returned from another enjoyable week at Hawes. Although it was very busy over the bank holiday weekend, the hard working wardens kept everything running like clockwork, and the site and facilities were kept clean and tidy as usual. Our only gripe was the number of members who seemed unable to drive at 5mph around the site, even though several children were about, some of whose parents or carers didn't seem to care where the kids were as long as they were out of their way. Could the club have speed cameras around the sites, and enforce a " 3 strikes and your out "policy? Or even some warning signs indicating that speed cameras are in operation? The wardens should ideally remind everyone as they check in about the speed limit, and when they see anyone doing more than 5mph, take the registration number and the club send them a warning letter.

Bikes

Just had 4 nights at this well run site, I'm sorry to say that it was spoilt by teenagers riding bikes at high speed around the site, it's time to stop cycling on club sites!

Perfect

Spent Easter on what was our first visit to Hawes, We were very warmly welcomed on Wednesday evening and that set the tone of our stay. The site itself was impeccably maintained, with spotless facilities and the best dog walk that we've come across on our travels so far. The village of Hawes is lovely and there are lot's of walks and places to explore directly from the site, we didn't use the car at all for the whole 5 nights. We have already booked again for next Easter, and can't wait to go back.

High quality site in great location

Just enjoyed our second visit during the Easter period. The site is well laid out and we particularly like the super service pitches in terms of positioning and facilities. Very clean facilities with a good dog walk as well. Its a safe and easy stroll in to Hawes and there are lots of nearby attractions and fantastic walks. The indoor games room is good for children to have a break away from the caravan in bad weather, it would be nice if it opened to perhaps 9pm rather than 8pm. Similar to other reviews the amenities block closing for cleaning at 10.15 am for gents is too early. It was still very busy when people were being asked to leave. We would visit again and it is one of our favourite sites.

great place, cracking cheese gromit

a great site, location spot on, managers very good, two slight faults. 1- cleaning times of the toilets, in my mind slightly early. 2- a shame that some of the pitches are slightly steep, so many motorhomes unable to level out, even with the biggest wedges. small problems for such a good site. please ask the RAF and USAF to wave when they fly through, it makes the photos better.

Absolutely wonderful site, but why the aggressive speed bumps?

This site is stunning. The location is perfect and the staff no problems. Why though is there this insistence to install aggressive speed bumps on CMC sites these days? To say they are not caravan friendly is an understatement. I agree people should stick to the speed limit, particularly where there are children, however most people who have caravans and not exactly speed demons.
